On a Faerie with No Name
I rode to find salve for pain
I dipped and soared in the Light Surrendering to Its Tender Might Without a care for where I went I succumbed to Faerie’s Scent Oh take oh take my pain away !!! And bring me to the calming sway Of breezes bringing ultimate relief From days of tortuous endless grief To which they bring me to a Land That heals beyond all Time’s Stand.

Honey, I’ve been SO hit with this trauma about Rusty, first trying to wrap my brain around the fact that he is extremely hurt, then dealing with a negligent Vet, then around the clock care trying to save not only his leg but his life, then he looked better, then took a turn for the worse with a fever of 105.6 and back we go kicking it in high gear to save his leg because again his paw turned a dark purple. Yes, Morgan, I have been in shock. For real. A few days last week, every time I closed my eyes I went into a panic and had flashbacks. This has been a horrible nightmare, one in which is slowly improving. xx Amy

OH dear Amy I am so sorry, I honestly had no idea. and for THAT I am sorry, because I do confess that I am doing so much and going in so many (too many) directions that I don’t get to spend the quality time I’d like to in any one place. So its my own fault I didn’t know, but still, I am sorry and shall include all of you in my most fervent prayers.
I do not know the entire situation, but I did have a cat once who got stuck in a trap and we had to amputate that leg. after the horror of it, and the sorrow, we realized that he got along just fine on three and barely missed a beat. I dont know what is best for Rusty, just saying, perhaps…if it’s necessary …if his health would improve …he will be fine. course like I said, I dont know all the details. either way…my prayers hover o’er you all 😉

Bless you, Morgirl! Bless you! Please do not blame yourself, OK? I too don’t have the quality time to be everywhere I want to be. Rusty is looking really really good this evening. I worked with him all day long, soaking, and doing a sort of debridement on his paw. All toes are pink now, where they had been a dusky color. Hubs and I both are working SO hard to save his leg, and believe in the power of prayer and LOVE. We’ve come a long way since last week, and I really have HOPE now that he will pull through. I have just dropped to my knees in utter gratitude about this. I had to get out of the house for a while this evening, and went to a creek not far from our home to photograph waterfalls AND I got a whole lot of magic! I even got a BLUE HERON fishing! WOWOWOWOW! This incident was WAY too close and there were times I did loose faith. I am so grateful to you for your prayers. Thank you from the bottom of my Heart. (((HUGS))) Amy

Wish I was there to help you with him Amy. If he were a dog I would soak his paw in very warm iodine and water, but can’t use iodine with cats. My vet did use it lightly on a wound once though. One of my books suggests bathing cats wounds in rosemary infusion. Email me if you like and I will send it on. Simon is doing a little better today, however he now has an issue with his liver. We are hoping it will clear up on its own as not much to do for it. Sending you all many prayers and angels for healing. Precious babies they are! Love and hugs your way!

Denise, I am doing a triple soak with Rusty and it is working. Very warm soapy water, then very warm epson salts water, then very warm rinse water. I am doing this every 2-3 hours with gentle massaging of the paw to encourage the dead skin to slough off. His skin is still pink and the darkened areas are beginning to slough off. He still is not putting weight on his paw, so again we turn to Homeopathy looking for a new remedy to encourage the swelling to go down. I also am giving him water water water, as I do not want to bolus him (needle) as he is very squirmy today. Yes I am using allopathic meds as well as alternative. I am so touched by your concern and I really hope Simon gets better. The heartache and the horror involved when one of our 4-legged Angels is ill or hurt, I cannot put into words, yet you know. It’s a slow go, John, and if we had only relied on traditional medicine, he would have lost his leg. Since yesterday, I can see the healing process has really begun. I have to keep up with paw soaks, and keep this little guy hydrated and pain free, as well as keeping the good nutrition coming by feeding him. I woke this morning with the sweat just pouring off of me, in sheer terror. This was too close. I get down on my knees in utter gratitude, for the knowledge my husband and I have achieved through hard and deligent study over the years, is paying off. Medicine is so limited and in so many ways. I hope I am teaching my Vet something that when certain remedies and treatments are consistenty done, the drastic quick fix (amputation) can be avoided. I believe in natural, gentle healing and that is exactly what this cat is getting. What a journey! Thank you for your concern. (((HUGS))) Amy

I use a lot of herbal cures. My Grandmother was Ojibwa and she used the natural cures. The garlic, rosemary and honey/vinegar can fix the human body.

I want to talk to you more about this, later, John. I would love to know more, so when Rusty is fully out of danger, I will write an email, if that is OK. I try to use the natural cures as much as possible. I am always open for more. Thank you so much. Love, Amy
