The Kingdom and Me

To relay all the stories regarding all I’m about to show you, would comprise of a much longer post then this one. So I must be choosy to elect which stories to tell. I begin with jaw dropping skies that Mother presented right at my very door. She knowing how involved I’ve been in life brought Majestic Magic to me. The first picture is of an incredible sunrise that had me first running for my camera and then just gaping at. The second sky phenomenon occurred the following day, early evening. The Power and the Massive Display of Artistic Mastery again had me running for my camera and then I just stood there in complete and utter awe.

Did a wow come from your lips? Yeah, I know that feeling well!

I’ve gotten to some parks to find migrating birds. I’ve had Cedar Waxwings patiently posing for me as both my excitement and my fumbling fingers rusty from birding skills had me almost in a panic. But oh no, this intelligent bird and his mate purposely posed until I got the perfect shots. I must have taken 100 frames no matter what was in the way. Thank you, Cedar Waxwings!

I had two male Golden-Crowned Kinglets purposely playing with me. They are extremely tiny and fast!! They knew I was doing my best yet at one point when my arms shook and I asked them to please ease up, they only got friskier. Together we had so much fun with me laughing out loud as they teased and insisted I play. Here too I took any shot I could get and ended with probably 250 frames. Thank you both for playing with me!!

Mostly all the birds I photographed looked directly at me. I had a chipmunk happily skip alongside of me as I walked down a path, no fear evident. I came across a huge turtle, something very unusual and he ended up bringing his neck in, a sign he was scared of me. Sorry, Turtle. You’re new to my energy so I get it. Easy does it.

For the first time, I spotted a beaver who camouflaged himself so well that if I had not heard a rustle I would never have seen him. He froze when he saw me and I very gently reassured him he has nothing to fear from me. Here too I was new to beavers so word has not gotten out that the woman with the cameras is safe.

I most certainly lucked out with the early Spring migrating ducks this year for I saw all three of them!! First time ever this happened and inwardly I was whooping with JOY. Yes!! Those were all very long range shots yet I cropped them in tight so you can see them clearly. As with all the pictures below, they will be captioned so you know what you are viewing.

And then. The coup of all stories! Wow! I came across a bench which beckoned me to sit, something I normally do not do. My gaze was pulled out to what was before me for I sensed something very special. I just sat forgetting my cameras for a while to drink deeply. I was there for quite some time until a man came down the path. He asked me, “Were you aware a Bald Eagle was perched in the tree branches above you?” My reaction? I jumped up as if I were sitting on a live wire and exclaimed, “No!! No way!! I know I looked up into that tree and I saw nothing! Oh my gosh, darn it! I missed a chance to get a picture of an Eagle!”

So close yet so far away. But then as the man walked away my perception changed and a huge wave of gratitude and humbleness washed over me. To have a Bald Eagle comfortably hanging out with me is a huge compliment! By that time after having so many other encounters of the Miracle kind, I asked myself, “What planet am I on?” To have the trust of all those who live in Mother’s Kingdom as I was shown that day, except for Beaver and Turtle, is a Great Honor!
