Hubby worked on his sound system project ALL SUMMER. [Interpret that as doing nothing other then the project at hand … the genius worked only on this project.] He designed and built a table, a stereo rack, two speaker stands, and researched until his eyes fell out, on which equipment he was going to invest in.
Here’s a gallery with an “example” of the paperwork involved in this project. Click on first image to open gallery.
Finally after months of hard labor in combination with intense research, the project was finished. How exciting to finally assemble everything together! The day came when we both for the first time heard what this sound system sounds like and we both were in awe. When hubby does his homework, he doesn’t mess around.
A problem arose. Every time one of us would turn our overhead fan off in our half-lav, the amplifier would cut out. After much consternation and trying to figure the source of the problem, hubby sent the amplifier to a service center, thinking he had bought a faulty amplifier. Then! Waiting several nail-biting weeks to hear what was wrong, he was told nothing was wrong!
Weeks and more weeks went by as hubby systematically eliminated any potential problems. After a lot of effort he discovered there are too many switches and plug outlets on one 15 amp circuit breaker to consistently support this high-end sound system.
Gallery includes some schematics of what Hubby drew to work from as he checked switches and lights. Click on first image to enter gallery.
My brilliant husband yesterday decided to put in a 15 amp Dedicated Circuit Breaker in our electrical service panel. He drew up a schematic in a matter of minutes to show me what he was talking about when I asked him to help explain what he was doing so I can make sense to you. When I saw this drawing, I silently asked, “You’ve got to be kidding me! I’m supposed to understand this and now you?”
I was told this is for his sound system only so that the amplifier will no longer cut out. I can understand this. That means in simple English that only this sound system will be plugged into the new outlet that Hubby installed in the wall, with all plugs from his sound system secured in a strip surge protector first. I of course assisted him with this job.
You got it. I held the flashlight again. That and being told IF Hubby should get shocked that I should with one hand behind me shove him hard to sever the electrical connection. To say the least, my Heart was in my throat as my eyes followed his hand. Why he did not shut off all electricity when his hands where working in the service panel is beyond me. But there again, I don’t think like Hubby.
Here’s a few images of what was done yesterday. Click on first image to enter gallery.

Well AR, you guys sure are never bored as you are always doing something of interest requiring your attention. I’m waiting for the layout pictures of the camera next! 🙂 Yay for hubby and his completed project! Next? Happy weekend and hugs to you and the babies. I assume all are still with you? Take care…VK ❤

Those pictures are coming, VK, but I can only do one thing at a time lately. LOL Hubby and I are in fact going out today to shoot our cameras if you can believe that! Today I’m going to have both of us focused so that we are taking relatively the same shots in order for me to compare side-by-side what we are shooting. Hubby just said he’s got goosebumps as he is listening to me voice record this message to you. He’s excited to say the least! Have a good one! 💕🤣💕

Oh thank you, dear friend! I honestly have tears in my eyes. These days have been extremely stressful for the both of us on account of all that is going on with Max. I am so touched by your words…

I think it’s wonderful that your husband has the knowledge, enthusiasm and tenacity to create and follow through with this kind of project. Fortunately men and women both have this ability if they are so inclined. And I am equally dazzled by your stunning photo of the wild grass. I love the variety of color and textures, and the peace it invokes. Two geniuses at work, how delightful. Thanks Amy.

Jet, once my husband decides to do something he is amazing. He does however, have a history of procrastination yet do I dare say this? Lately he’s been go go go! And yes regarding that photograph of mine, I absolutely adore how you described it because it is exactly the emotions that are evoked in me as I look at it as well. Bless you for including me in the terminology of Genius. Thank you! 💕🌹😚💕

Hi Amy! You did a great job explaining it all – and the diagrams were a picture in their own right! Nice to see people doing their own work around the house and nice to see people who know what they’re doing! Some “tradespeople” should be so smart. Looking forward to the new photos of your shoots! Much love, Donna

Thank you, Donna! Hubby and I both of us in our own rights, strive for Perfection or nearly as close to Perfection as we can get with everything we do do. That being said, we have seen the quality of the workmanship overall today and we truly are not impressed whatsoever. We both are extremely fortunate in that, we are both very smart, we both are very good with math, we both are very good with our hands, and I over hubby have the common sense in the family to put things into perspective. And today… We have made time for a two-hour window to go out and do shooting side-by-side. I really hope to get that post up either on Sunday or Monday. Both of us have been very stressed dealing with two of our cats who are not doing well. This is going to be a great adventure! Much Love to you, dear friend! 💕🌹😚💕

Dear David, when I read your words I actually laughed out loud. It is very obvious to me that you do not do this type of work because if you did, you would understand it goes far beyond tinkering. I even read your comment to hubby and he in turn asked me is this guy serious? LOL To each his own and for each we all have different goals and talents. Thank goodness we do or else this world would be one heck of a very boring place to be! Much Love to you this day! 💕😁💕

Brilliant, Amy. 🙂 I mean I don’t even try to wrap my head around figures and drawing 🙂 No way. My hubby is the do it yourself type and he fixes everything that has to be fixed at home, including weeding around. And me? Just plain lazy. 🙂

Thank you, Celestine. When I get going I’m pretty good at figures and such as well just like hubby. In fact hubby and I designed the house that we live in and he drew up the blueprints which I could read as well as any foreman could. I would never classify you as lazy. You are a writer and a poetress. We all have our ways about us. May you have a great weekend! 💕😁💕

Thumb up to your husband’s work. He is really good and talented. Although those schematics and drawings are gibberish to me, your last picture is the one that I can understand 🙂

Dearest yellowCable, I will most definitely read your comment out loud to my husband so that he knows what you said. Oh yes when this man does a job he does it extremely well and very thoroughly. Believe me all those drawings are gibberish to me too for the most part and I could not agree with you more that that last picture is what makes sense to me. LOL Have a great weekend! 💕😁💕

Looks like a right and thorough job. I make drawings like that all the time. They are helpful, even if they only cause me to think more clearly about the task at hand. I’m glad the system has its own dedicated circuit b

Coming from you I consider this a very high comment of praise and I will pass your words along to Hubby. He worked so hard on this project yet now seasoned with a little bit of Common Sense from his wife, knows that this project would have been a whole lot better if he had done it in the winter time. This man has notes all over this house having to do with this project or that project and in fact with this project that I wrote about today, he has note books full of diagrams and blueprints and notes. Thank you again for this comment, Dan. It means a lot to the both of us! 💕😁💕

As I said a couple of times in this post, my husband is, all joking aside, a genius in his own right. Now for common sense? That is where I come into play. I too am very smart but in different ways than he is. Thank you on my feature picture because it just tugs at my Heart. I should have more goodies coming for you and everyone else in that, I was actually able to photograph the full moon this past week, and my husband went shooting with me again today and we really made an effort to take the same pictures. Tomorrow we plan on sitting side-by-side to compare these pictures so that I can post them here. Much Love to you, dear friend! 💕🌹😚💕

Hi, Joey! You made me laugh, dear friend. I prefer my featured image like you because all the other stuff that I showed except for the stereo picture, is basically gibberish to me as well. I find these kind of notes all over the house all the time and there’s sometimes I look at them asking myself how in the world can my husband even read what he wrote? Anyways I should have more fun coming for you and everybody else because I’ve actually got my husband to come out with me shooting again today. I plan on sitting side-by-side with him tomorrow to compare pictures so that I can put them up here to show everyone a his picture and her picture. Thanks for stopping by and when I get a chance I’ll swing on by your place like I always do. Hoping you have a wonderful weekend! 💕😁😎💕

Those drawings go over my head too, Helen, so you are in good company. LOL And yes! My new sound system is awesome. Why two in the same house? Hmmmm …. his music that he likes I don’t and my music I like he’s not too fond of. That and they are both strategically placed that we both can enjoy music at the same time and not bother each other. 😁

Hubby did 99.98% of the work, Christy. I gritted my teeth the entire Summer bemoaning the fact that this project took away our time together. Anyways, he now is finally getting the photography bug again and is joining me in shoots. YAY!!! Have a great weekend!! 💖
