Even in the dead of night
a Hint of Life still seen
telling Heart and Mind
Spring shall soon be here.

There are no tricks with this image. You are seeing it as shot. This photograph was taken at night with my Canon 50D and EF 100mm f/2.8 macro lens, all mounted on my tripod. Can you guess what is in the background in this image?

Those are my porch railings, Carol, with the porch light streaming through them. Pretty cool? Good guess!! I’ll come on by to see you in a little bit. I have my morning routine to do. 🙂 Cat care. ❤ Love, Amy ❤

Awesome! Is it the columns of a fence with porch light coming through? How are you dear? Hugs and blessings, Emma

Awesome! You are close, Emma. It is actually my porch posts with my porch light coming through. I’m impressed by your guess!!! I’m better today, friend. I’ve had some pretty intense, emotional days but now I’m headed to Balance today. Thank you for asking. (((HUGS))) Amy ❤

Thank you, Scott. I thought so too. It was worth freezing, standing in snow for 1.5 hours. FYI … All that snow is gone today. In fact, I have a Crocus flowering today (unheard of for February …. a first never!) which reminds me I must show on Petals. *sigh* Trying so hard to get through comments, I dump even more on myself. Really? LOL Love, Amy ❤

Oh wow, that’s pretty amazing and I love how you captured that sepia tone. I remember no matter how cold, miserable and endless the East Coast winter’s were, February usually brought some promises of spring.

That sepia tone is from taking it at night. LOL We have Spring like weather right now, Marissa. I’ve never seen it like it is now. All day long I’ve been saying “pinch me”. It looks like April instead of February. Love, Amy ❤

Hi, Melissa! It is our porch railings so you are close. The light streaming is from our porch lights that were turned on. It was a magical night, believe me, although extremely cold. So glad you enjoyed! Love, Amy ❤

This is beautiful and amazing Amy. I hope this early warmth doesn’t mess these little guys up if it turns cold again. I haven’t seen signs in our yard (we don’t have many spring flowers) but I’m on the lookout.

Dan, I photographed today a Crocus flowering. I’ve never seen flowers this early in the year. NEVER. Now it is beginning to turn cold again, and what is going to happen when real Spring gets here, I don’t know. I am astonished we have zero snow on the ground versus 2-3 feet. Nature is so confused …. Not good. (((HUGS))) Amy ❤

Our crocuses (croci) aren’t usually up until March. It was 50 today. I’m worried.

Dan, it got up to 62 here today!! WE all need to be concerned. This is not right. Uh uh. Our Crocuses are not up until late March here. And here this year they began coming up in January. Oh wow!!!

The long range forecast said that we would have this pattern through January and most of February. Whatever that means.

Dan, your guess is as good as mine. Do forecasters ever know what they are talking about? We had such high winds here last night that rain water was forced somehow through a tiny space between our fascia and cement foundation, which puddled on our basement floor. Forecasters said wind gusts of 30mph to be expected. Oh, is this why the winds literally shook our house last night and forced water in such a manner never before seen? Gee, really????

We had very high wind gusts last night too. Much higher than what was forecast. Sometimes, they don’t even get yesterday’s weather right.

I was jumping for joy, Raewyn. I was stunned by what I saw. My friend, too much is going on right now for me to focus on challenges … I will do my best to do one post for the 3 day challenge and link it back to you and invite everyone to do this and to link it back to you. That is they least I can do for you! Love, Amy ❤

Irene, thank you. My cats are doing well. I’ve been very involved in family again because my Mom was just told that the cancer is back and it is growing at an alarming pace. Doctors are outright lying and relying on shock to force my Mom into chemo, something that will kill her in agony. I’ve kept quiet about this because my Mom is a very private person and would feel very uncomfortable if I came right out on a post regarding her condition. It is not good, my friend. I as an RN know what I am talking about. Trying to wrap my head around this and getting everything settled here so I can fly out of here to see her, I honestly don’t know how I will do it. Finally I feel as if I have a Mother and now I know that it will not be for much longer. I’m exhausted trying to work with a sister to get Mom to realize that doctors have really messed up and are not acting in her best interest. So far we have had little success to get my Mom’s eyes open. Thanks for listening, my friend. My head is spinning. Love, Amy ❤

A flower pot? Beautiful capture Amy! Yes, it won’t be long until the red, red Robin comes Bob, bob, bobbin’ along… You’ve put out a lot of effort and brought us some great shots Amy! I’d just like to say thank you for making me look bad… For some reason this winter, I’ve just felt like I have no energy; just bumming around. Would you happen to have 25 cents ’til next March? That’s when I get my cheque! LOL!

Darrell, energy makes energy. TRue. If you just sit around of course you will feel sluggish. If I was there I would knock on your door and get you to come walking with me to enjoy the great outdoors. And here is 25 cents. Don’t spend it all in one place now. 😉 I’m so glad you enjoyed my image. I think it is way cool!!! 🙂 Love and kisses, Amy ❤

It is ‘way cool!’ OK, so the background is not a flower pot… A radiator? LOL! You are such a dream girl! I know what it’s like to be outside, I have a camera… I love exercise, but this winter was particularly tough, so I fell into my depression, and although I want like crazy to go out, and snot up all over the city, motivation is not a factor… I’m locked in my own world right now, but signs of recovery usually accompany the Spring. Thanks so much for caring! I love you!! There! I swaid it… That doesn’t mean I owe you any money! LOL! And actually, considering the chain of eveents around here, I’m right where I should be at the moment. Don’t worry, I’m avoiding ice cream yogurt 🙂
