Recently, the itch came upon me to take a few shots of some of our babies. Instead of fooling around with settings, for the first time since I bought my new camera, I put my camera on Automatic. Me? Doing simple? Yep. Me.
To my stunned eyes the ISO went all the way up to 12,800. No way would my pictures come out good or so I thought. I’ll let you be the judge of that. It pays to buy quality!!
Here is our gentle giant Charlie weighing in at a hefty 18 pounds. He is 14 years old and slowly needing more help from Daddy and me. When a Vet first saw his huge paws he laughed out loud saying, “Oh my goodness!! He can swim with these paws!”
Next up is our smallest and oldest, Sassy, who every afternoon about 5pm, insists Daddy gets her a glass of water to drink out of. And so he does. Sassy is in my opinion, our most “special needs” baby having me running for most of the day. She is 16 years old and has multiple health issues. She sleeps with me with the door closed and three times each night she wakes me up crying. For some reason she needs my assurance everything is OK whenever she jumps down to eat. And so mostly asleep I talk to her until she again is on the bed. Immediately back to sleep I go when I know she is back up.
Then there is Doodles, who stopped eating and who I am feeding 2-3 times per day. He’s been exhibiting health issues for years. He too keeps Daddy and me hopping. He is 15 years old. I’m at a place in my life that my “dream furniture” is not important so that when I see it torn up as it is, it no longer bothers me. Note: The AF point locked on the couch instead of Doodles. However, I still think it is a cool picture.
Ahhhh …. Rusty, our play bunny. Here he is watching birdies on TV that Daddy specifically puts on for him to watch. He is our baby, 9 years old already. He loves to eat as you can see and I must be a guard at mealtime because he will go into others’ dishes. Sassy and Rusty double team me with her pretending she is hungry and then allowing Rusty to eat. When I finally caught on that the minute I walked away he would come from out of nowhere to eat her food, Mommy put her foot down. She is taking care of the problem …. he eats only what Mommy gives him.
We have 3 other cats, Jersey, Meaghan, and Whispers. For today I showed you our 4 babies that let me take their picture. My feature picture is of Charlie, Rusty, and Whispers on the chair. Hope you at the very least smiled when you saw our precious fur-angels. May all of you have a really great Friday.
