Back And Biceps

    1. K. You hinted …. It’s a woman warrior holding up a blooding sword in victory. That tattoo just about wraps up nicely who I am, I’d say. LOL My design. My idea. And yes I am very serious about my workouts. I was devastated when my gym was closed down. I’m no longer waiting for ______ to open a much needed facility. I’m doing my own gym at home! Much love to you, Rob!! xo

    1. As I stated in my post, I take my workouts very seriously, Mark. I’ve been doing it for years so the “muscle memory” is in my favor. I am doing my very best to make sure all aspects of my life benefit me. My body was made for exercise and that is exactly what I am giving it. May you have a really great day today!! Much love to you!! xo

  1. I like your approach, Amy. After my last Physical Therapy encounter, I bought weights, bands and resistance cords to mimic every exercise they had me doing at the PR gym. I’m working off a support post in our basement. It’s not pretty, but it works. Keep it up. In addition to the exercise, it feels good to invent!

    1. Oh wow! You came up with the same idea, Dan. How awesome! I’m still putting my routines together and when the weather turns cooler I’ll be working off a support beam and our I-beam in the basement. Thank you for the encouragement. Biking and walking and floor exercises were just not doing it. So on to invention. I’m just thrilled you are taking matters into your own hands too!! Way to go! xo

    1. Thank YOU so much!! I so want to encourage everyone today that if I can do this, they can too. Exercise is so vitally important! I’m still putting my routines together as I go (body parts). I’ve got some more equipment to add to my collection but what I do have, I am making work NOW. Much love to you!!! Have a great day! xo

  2. Amy, what an awesome role model you are, not just for woman and exercise in general but for ingenuity. I’m so proud of you. Your home gym looks amazing and best bit is, it never closes! Go you!!! Enjoy those workouts. Sending big hugs and lots of love my fellow warrior in light and fitness. xxxx 😍💪

  3. I believe our governments have acquired all the dumbells. I like the idea of the woman warrior tattooed on your breast. It adds feist, spice, and a rebel sensibility to your being. Good workout. The photos are excellent. I really like the selfie through the window and the closeup. You are not a woman to be messed with.

    1. Tim, I have to tell you that you made me laugh SO hard with your words, “You are not a woman to be messed with.” You’ve got that right. Ask Hubby. Teehee …. Don’t give up on the dumbbells …. Hubby keeps going back to Target and today I again will see what I can find online. If I have to wait, so be it. It’s nuts you can’t find ANY workout equipment right now. Hence, Hubby making me a bench press. I’m using a big blanket (seen in one of my pics) to use for incline presses. Ingenuity all the way. I will NOT allow government to steal from me MY right to exercise! Grrrrrr ….. So you like my mirror? LOL
Have a great day! I’ll be over later ….. pressed for time this morning ….. from one rebel to another, I say! SMILE!!! xo

    1. Hi, Shruit! THANK YOU for the awesome comment. I’m winging this and figuring things out as I go. Just ordered a 20lb. pair of dumbbells which I have to wait for but that’s OK. Until then I work with what I have. SO nice to see you today!! Much love to you! (((HUGS)))!! Xo

  4. You created the coolest outdoor gym… wow!! Of course, it would not be the healthiest thing to do over here these days, since it is simply too hot. But I love the idea a lot. Still sticking with my workout when even not as frequently anymore than I used to (I am only one woman and if it means additional stress to squeeze it in, I leave it). This was very motivational, Amy!!

    1. Thank you, Erika. And then when it gets cooler I’ve already thought how I am going to do all this in the basement. What you saw is only my back/bi routine. There is my chest/triceps and then legs/shoulders. I don’t care how hot it is outside I still exercise. These opportunities for me to be in the sun and warmth will not last forever, not here. I hear you about being busy. However, for me, if it is important enough, I do make time. My health depends on what I am now doing. No ands ifs or buts or excuses. SO glad to be a motivator. That was my intention. Much love to you, dear friend. xo

      1. I have my specific exercices too! Again, it is such a cool way of excercising outside how you showed it.
It is important to me too to keep up my workout. That is one of the reasons I am limiting my blogging time. I have my two jobs, a family to manage, a house, a big garden, and some projects going. I am glad that meanwhile, I am going with the flow, setting priorities flexibly, and don’t try to squeeze into 24 hours what needed about 30 or more hours. Otherwise whatever healthy things you are doing become unhealthy. But that way, I got a lot calmer and what I do, I do with all my dedication. Sorry, I degressed here but it was a very tough lesson to learn until I got there… lol
Much love and blessings to you, dear Amy 💪💖

      2. Oh I hear you loud and clear! This was a very difficult lesson for me as well. Even knowing how important exercise is for me, I was determined to wait for my gym to open. No longer willing to wait! I wanted to work legs today but I’m feeling very tired and am deciding to make today a chill day with a good book. Haven’t done that in a while … I’ve really been on the go. With age comes wisdom (hopefully) that allows one to listen to the body when it says “OK, you may want to consider having an easy day even IF …”. For too long I pushed too hard, too long. I’m no longer willing to do that. The exercises and walks and biking I do are plenty, take my word for it. Can I exercise like I used to say in my 20’s? Heck no. Adjustments. Simple. Yet difficult for me (at times) to accept. Soooo understand what you are saying ….. xo

      3. Exactly, Amy! We need to do what fits us today and not years ago. Isn’t that spontaneous chill time with a book just even more enjoyable? I am happy for you that you could do that.
Have a lovely rest of your day, Amy. Hugs 💖

  5. Way to go Amy! i prefer to work out at home compared to a gym. I used to do lots of body weight exercises and kettlebells. I had ropes hanging from the rafters of the basement with loops. Worked out great. Exactly like what you say – a bit of ingenuity and there you go -working out at home!! You may never return to the gym!! Happy lifting! Much love, Donna

    1. Thank you, Donna!! I’m figuring things out as I go and will be gloriously happy when I get my custom bench press and the other pair of dumbbells. You’re right about maybe not returning to the gym. I depended on the gym, however, for my main source of socializing. Another door just recently crossed my path to which I am thinking about opening. Yet, that door leads to a place that is really “not my thing” so knowing what is, I put in a prayer request that I find another door that does lead to “my thing”, a door that would be “new”, something I myself created in my own life. I would love to see that mirrored somewhere and for me to find it. Today I work legs, probably the most challenging workout for me. Yet when I am finished I feel like I’ve climbed Mt. Everest. GRIN!! Good for you for coming up on your own an exercise system that works for you. You go, Girl!! Much love to you! xo

    1. Thank you, Shweta! Long overdo IMO. I
was holding out for my gym to reopen while I did floor exercises but, those no longer were working. Now I’m rethinking things by putting my routines together with the equipment I do have. Bless you for your support and encouragement. What I didn’t say is how the gym closing devastated me for months. Much love to you! xo

  6. You look fabulous! And I love your gym. I work out at home too, though mine are less intense than yours. I need to start focusing more on upper body. Your arms are so admirable! 👏😊

    1. THANK YOU, Julie! And I consider myself out of shape truth be told. I’ll get there (where I know I can be). This whole gym ordeal threw me a huge curveball. Now however I’m being proactive.
Good for you for working out at home. It’s not easy, is it? At least not for me. I’d much rather head out to the gym. I’m working on new patterns. As for my upper body … THANK YOU!! I’ve got the “flag” syndrome going so that will be gone soon. LOL Much love to you, dear friend!! xo

  7. Among many tips on diet etc. , you see sometime experts or doctors found things the opposite later such as eating eggs but exercise is one thing that I have not see any change. It is good for you even at the moderate level.

    1. Hi, Julie. I’m SO proud of you! Working out is SO important for health. I’ve been putting together my own little gym with the help of Hubby at times. Gyms here have been closed for 5 months and with the reopening next week, they are forcing patrons to work out with masks on. NO WAY! Crazy? That is dangerous! I’m working out at home. I want to purchase a stationary bike and then I am complete. SOOOO good to hear from you. I’ll be over late to see your last post if you have one!! Sending much love to you over the waters!! xoxoxoxo

And I have a pair of hand weights that I use now and again… But mainly digging and watering the allotment plot keeps me fit some days and fit to drop others 🙂 lol…. Wonderful share of your photos Amy… and only now getting chance to catch up in WP a little… Big Hugs my friend ❤
