Meandering about with my feet barely touching the ground, I met more birders and photographers that day then I have in a very long time. This nature preserve that was so dead last year, is so alive this year, practically humming with life. In fact, if you know what to listen for, it does hum!
The multi-layered sweet sounds of birdsong, the fresh smell of newly unfrozen earth, the clean pure breeze upon the face, the gentle warmth of the sun, was a recipe for Paradise. With a big smile and eyes wide, time and time again I directed many to where I saw the Cedar Waxwings. Their grins and excitement in return made me fly even higher. To share joy and passion with those who walk similar paths with me, now let me tell you, life doesn’t get much better then that!
I hope to again cross paths with my friends, the Cedar Waxwings. These birds normally do not nest or stay around in the nature preserve, but for some reason they tend to flock to the park next to this nature preserve. I had actually gone to that particular park on this exact day with hope to see Waxwings there, but it was so dead and so bare and so without life, I turned around within 10 minutes of walking a trail. I hightailed to the nature preserve and lo and behold that is where I spotted the Cedar Waxwings!
For your enjoyment, I introduce you to Cedar Waxwings.
With my ISO at 400, my shutter speed is higher thus giving me a better opportunity to “freeze” action. None of the Cedar Waxwings were easy to capture as they were all so enmeshed with branches all around them. Darn it but it was tough getting a clear shot despite the fact the shots I did manage to get, branches still were not giving me a perfectly open passage. The second to last picture in this series is just a sample of what I’ve been capturing lately of birds while flying.
Hope you enjoyed both my post and the comfort of the beautiful music from YouTube. May all of you have a peace-filled glorious day! Life is a Gift and it is precious. Remember that.
