Our snow is as I write this melting. Temperatures as have been seen this winter, are again on the rise. That night I took these pictures was so beautiful! I agree that untouched snow is beautiful, Irene. I was stunned when I saw the results I obtained. Much love to you! xo

Thank you, Dan! Finally snow. Yet when as I write that snow is melting. Temps again rising. I saw Grackles yesterday, the first Spring bird that arrives here. Hmmmm …..

I saw several flocks of geese heading north today, Amy. I think they know something we don’t.

Crossing fingers early Spring is our reality this year. Last Spring was miserable.

The last two years, our springs were cold and wet for way too long.

I know, Dan. We deserve an early WARM mostly dry Spring. Our ground is SO saturated that our poor neighbors in attempting to empty the shit slinger in their hay fields, got stuck in the mud. Then with their big diesel tractor they tried to pull number one tractor out but that got stuck as well. A fellow neighbor had to come with his huge blue tractor with chains on wheels to get both tractors out and the shit slinger out. Dang! I should have got pictures. You would have loved to see these huge machines in the process of getting unstuck. *Hitting my forehead!* Of course now I think of getting pictures. After the fact. Duh!

That sounds like quite the operation.

It was quite the operation. This man had to drive on a regular street with this huge tractor in order to get to my neighbors and then go back to his home. What most people don’t understand, a farmer has to be a jack of all trades in order to fix things etc. My neighbor (the woman whose father has been doing the upkeep) unfortunately doesn’t have that know how. I don’t know what she is going to do when her dad, who is 86 and in Florida right now, passes. Most of the farmers and those who keep horses are an extreme minority here now due to subdivisions pushing them out. Sounds like a post may be percolating. (smile)

You’ve got snow! I particularly like the sparkles in the last shot. I love the glitter of snow. 🙂

I love the glitter of the snow, too, Eliza. I was taken aback when I actually saw I captured snow falling …. it was falling so lightly I didn’t even notice while taking these images. As for that snow, it’s melting already. Temps are on the rise once again. xo

Wow, Mark, your imagination is on fire today! Love the thought of crystal caves. Just the thought of them make me tingle! The evening I took these pictures, it was breathtaking even if my toes and fingers froze. I was intent on capturing the magic that I stood in and I most certainly did. I’ll have to play around with that speedlite more often. The effects are amazing!! Thank you for your “these are amazing, Amy”. Much love to you! xo

Stunning photos, Amy. I saw the sparkles on the snow in my back yard last night and thought what an awesome picture that would make if only I could capture it. I’m glad you did.

Thank you, CM. You need a LIGHT to get the sparkles to pop. I’ve been experimenting with my speedlite. I bet those sparkles are gone today. Melty melty equals slushy slushy. Happy Monday!! xo

Lovely snaps with meaningful messages. Hope all is well with you, Amy
LikeLiked by 1 person
Just so you know, when you say “snaps” to a professional photographer using a professional camera, it’s insulting to the photographer. However, I am not insulted. Just keep what I said in mind so that in the future when you see beautiful captures, you know better now not to classify the shots as “snaps”. A lot goes into taking pictures with a professional camera. If you yourself are not a photographer, which you are not, you wouldn’t know this. Please take my word for it a lot of thinking and knowledge goes into taking pictures like what is seen on this post.
All is well with me, thank you! Hope all is well with you. I’m asking you not to be hurt by what I said. I said it so you won’t come across someone who will be insulted by calling their pictures “snaps”. That word is appropriate for a cellphone picture. Just letting you know, OK? Much love to you! xo

Hi Amy! I love these photos and the message. Looks like there was enough light to dispel the darkness in order to make these scenes beautiful! I’ll take that as a good sign. I love the first one – breath-taking! Much love, Donna

When we take the time to deliberately dispel the darkness, Donna, beauty as never before known, shines through. That night was absolutely breathtaking! Despite hands that did not want to work right and toes that got cold from standing in snow, I didn’t come in the house until I drank my fill. I have to play with this speedlite more often. The effects are gorgeous!! Yes, the first image is my favorite, too. I timed it perfectly for that moon low in the sky to be over that evergreen tree. Amazing when that happens! Happy Monday, dear friend. xoxoxo

Yes it can be, Sheryl. At other times, no. I’m not keen on the cold and lack of sun yet I am teaching myself (work in progress) to love Winter as much as I do the other Seasons. When a child, I used to love being outdoors even in Winter. I am returning to that feeling of joy regarding Winter. xo
