Friday Wrap Up

    1. And what a week it was, Frank!! Things seem to be winding down, thank goodness. Just have to keep putting one foot in front of the other. That Yellow Brick Road is something else, isn’t it? Have a great weekend!! xo

    1. Thank you, Gigi! Cookie FYI was diagnosed with an aggressive cancer 9 months ago. According to the “experts” she shouldn’t even be alive right now. You saw her. And still she looks so darn gorgeous!! Have a great weekend!! xo

  1. I’m baffled AR…It looks from your photos that we live on different planets…I just got through clearing my deck of another 5 in of snow but with the wind my steps going down to the garage are buried from drifting snow….Finished the deck clearing and next comes the steps 😦 It’s 3 degrees out there too! Gotta go finish it after lunch because tomorrow we are getting hit yet again with another 5-10 in….Shoveling isn’t what it used to be when you get to be my age. I just keep dreaming of spring! Loved the pix too, especially handsome Cookie. By the way, when I lived in Maryland we got hit by a hurricane(I lived on the coast) and I and the cats were in a small bathroom on the main floor. The wind just howled and out of nowhere there was a huge clap of thunder that shook the house and a bolt of lightening that struck the tree right next to the bathroom we were in and started it on fire. To this day, Elliott is terrified of thunder and runs to hide in the basement behind the clothes dryer. Nothing I do or say will get him out from behind there. I’m sure Rusty and Elliott would have wild stories to tell to one another.
Bracing for storm 2 tomorrow….Stay warm over there. The wind has been unbelievable as the cold fronts keep coming through…The joys of January…Hugs to you….VK ❤

    1. VK, never have I witnessed a January like we are having now. It has been feeling and looking like where my sis lives in NC. I don’t get it. Sounds like a nasty storm as you described. I’ve been through a tornado, something I wish to never experience again. Winds and what they can do and lightning we are absolutely defenseless against. Poor Elliott.
Again we are being told BAD weather coming and it is crazy. First very cold, down to single digit numbers, then snow, then wind AGAIN, then a warming, then rain, and then back to snow and wind. HUH?
Just got back from mucking out Karma’s stall, day 3. Day 1 was easy for me. Not so today. I’ve got to make another appt. with my acupuncturist. And even though I don’t feel like it, I am going to the gym today. I’ve missed one entire day this week as it is. All I want to do is go back to bed. Just feeling so tired today! It’s been a week and then some plus running over next door to take care of Karma …. I actually have to wear a respirator mask when I brush the mud from off of her. The first time I did it, I couldn’t breathe due to the cloud of dust I was inhaling.
Watch that shoveling, VK. Yes at our age it is nothing to make light of. Thank goodness for Hubby who does the shoveling. And it’s not easy for him!!
Stay warm, and stay safe!! Much love to you!! xoxo

  2. Wow, what a week! I hope you are feeling much better again. Yes, who cares? I think that is the benefit of aging, we don’t care that much anymore. At least, my mom said the same lately… lol! Breathtaking photos, Amy. I love each one of them!
Now big hugs and sending you loving thoughts for your healing 💖

    1. I deliberately took a “down” day today, Erika, mostly hanging out on the couch watching “Grey Anatomy”. I used to care SO much what I looked like and even to this day I find myself critical of me. When I’m tired or when I have a cold sore, I honestly don’t care anymore who sees what.
SO happy you stopped by to see the treasures I found right in my gardens. Big hugs right back at you and sending you much love as well!! (((HUGS)))!! xo

      1. I agree! What’s the use for whom we are doing it for? I am glad you simply follow the calling of your body and slow down. I hop you are soon back on your feet again.
Thank you so much, Amy. Blessings your way 💖

      2. I’m back up on my feet today, Erika. Bless you for your concern. Hubby found a Homeopathy remedy for me that IS working! I had the best night’s sleep last night that I’ve had in years. How I pray this remedy really does what it is supposed to do … heal scar tissue and nerve damage. xo

    1. Cookie is gorgeous! She was diagnosed with an aggressive cancer 9 months ago. I had a Vet tell me she shouldn’t even be alive right now. She is and she is still catching her [toy] mousies. I treasure every single day I have with her! I love her SO much!!! xo

    1. Yes, Sonia, my weeks lately have been running something like what I wrote here. Just one thing after the other ….
The Yellow Brick Road is so cool. I couldn’t remember the name of the flower so I came up with another title. (smile) When I’m not on “gardening” my mind tends to not even think of names and such. I’m on gardening holiday right now. LOL Have a great weekend!! xo

  3. That was quite a week you had, AmyRose! I saw a quote on someone’s blog post today which said something like, “One thing I’ve learned about life in all my years on earth, is that it goes on.” I’m sure you can concur with that. 😅 Love all your photos especially the last brown leaf. It really did deserve to be photographed for posterity. Hope your weekend is calm and uneventful. 😘

    1. My life, Sylvia, has been one thing after the other lately. I am learning just to go with the flow, run when I have to, slow down when I can, and chill with those who are closest to me …. my family.
Yes that leaf just jumped out at me. All I could think of was brown lace. (smile)
Hope your weekend is a good one. Thank you for your well wishes!! xo

    1. Yup. Life first. Right now I’m waiting for my “couch” … Hubby keeps saying a few more minutes. Until I get there (I’m having a down day and chilling) I’m answering comments here. Have a great relaxing weekend, Colleen!! Much love to you! xo

  4. Your garden photos are really amazing and it is much too early for the buds to show up now, Amy.
You are lucky to have your cats, even if they also can be a challenge in such horrible weather, as you have had this week.
Much love and healing thoughts to you ❤

    1. I know it is too early for rose buds to even be around, Irene. We are presently in a very cold spell, so all growth should now have stopped.
There are times I just stop “doing” and watch my cats. Last night for example, there were 3 of them in front of the TV all looking at birdies, a video Hubby put on. It was SO cute! Yes I took many pictures. I may present them here. But just to stop and be in the moment to enjoy my kids instead of always doing, what JOY!!
May you have a great weekend!! Much love to you and healing thoughts returned! xo

  5. For winter there is still much magic out there Amy. Mind you, you probably wish that it wasn’t so up and down with its climate so you could have some fun shooting outside 😀
Regardless you have done well dear lady 😀
Love your looking after Karma, I love horses and they have great energy…sometimes a bit too much 😀

    1. There is always magic, Mark. You just have to look for it, that’s all. This Winter has been the odd one indeed! Every day it seems something different is happening. The weather forecast just for this weekend alone is wild. Snow, cold, warming trend, rain, sleet, ice, snow, and once again high winds. Really?
I love looking after Karma. Mind you it is a lot of work but I honestly don’t mind. I had to wear a respirator to brush the mud off of her after she rolled in the mud 3-4 times. In brushing, you realize just how BIG a horse is, let me tell you! I couldn’t breathe the first time I brushed her for the huge cloud of dust that came off of her. I was crunching on dirt in my mouth. LOL
Have a great weekend!! Hoping you get rain!!! (((HUGS)))!!! xo

      1. Yes Amy, we have had two days of rain but it seems to mostly be on the coast, inland was a very hit and miss affair, which still leaves all the farmers inland in drought. Even some of the fires are still blazing down south. It has reduced a lot of fires though and makes them more manageable.
And you have my sympathies for the horse brushing. I have had so much fun with it that after brushing for 30 min they love to go back out and roll in all the dirt again. But they’re smart, its so that we will come and groom them again, they love it 😀
(((HUGS)))!!! back at you dear lady, may your weather be kinder 😀 ❤️ xoxo

      2. I’ll be praying for rain, Mark. I got a good laugh what you said about horses. Oh yes they are smart! The stories I’m gaining since I’m taking care of Karma. Unbelievable what she does sometimes! Much love to you!!! (((HUGS)))!! xoxo

    1. Thank you, Angelina, for the reminder to breathe. I took a down day yesterday to rest and just to chill as best as I could in between those things I had to do. I feel so rested today! My camera is my therapist, a way into a world that brings me such great beauty and peace, especially during those very stressful times in my life. May you have a great weekend!! xo

  6. Hey Amy. Wow sounds like a very busy and trying week. Poor kitties – really terrified by the thunder. I’ve never heard of a cat pooping in mid air – my goodness my heart goes out to Rusty. Great photos, art can be found anywhere – even a mild winter! Have a great weekend! Much love, Donna

    1. I have never seen a cat poop in midair either, Donna. He was completely terrified …. this thunder came from out of nowhere. All quiet then this huge BOOM that made our windows shake. All is good now but the winds are again supposed to start up today. This weather is NUTS!
When we have eyes to see, we can and we will see the beauty that is always around us, no matter the season. May you have a great weekend too!! Much love to you! xo

    1. We all have choices, YC, yes even on those days that are stressful. I’ve practiced for years to keep my spirits high. I will admit, though, some days it is so far more difficult to do. I’m so happy you stopped by to see my pictures. May your weekend be wonderful!! xo

    1. Teehee …. Oh, Dan!! I’m laughing so hard! No way could you have followed that Yellow Brick Road. Why? I tried too and I just couldn’t! LOL My week? I usually don’t write about the behind the scenes here, but take my word for it, lately it has been intense. This weekend is a God-send. Calm! Hope your weekend is going great for you!!

  7. What a week you had! So glad you and the cats made through! Hoping the weekend is kind to you! We all need a little more kindness in our lives. You nature photos are beautiful! I love hydrangeas. Such detail in the photos!

    1. Yes they do! I’ve been working on my health for more years than I care to remember. What doesn’t work, I toss aside. What works I keep. Then when something that does work no longer works, I follow the bread crumb trail to see what comes next. And try that.
Smiling about the yellow brick road. So glad you liked it!! Happy Monday! xo

  8. So pleased to hear Humpty Dumpty is now put back together again dear Amy… I had my acupuncturist on the 20th she asked to move my day, and I was only too happy to say yes for two days earlier.. Digging on the plot, I was ready for a top-up booster 😀
Lovely photos Amy so detailed and poor Rusty.. That sounded to be a bad storm.. And glad the Horse Karma had good sense.. 🙂
Loved the details in the Yellow brick road photo Amy… and the buds are beginning to break through…
Love and Hugs my lovely friend… So enjoying my weekly catch up here again my friend ❤ And lots to catch up with this week ❤ ❤ ❤

    1. Yes, Sue, Humpty got put together again. I am so fortunate to have this man in my life. I’ve been to several acupuncturists and no they are not all the same.
We’ve had extremely odd weather, and yes poor Rusty. Two of our cats became quite ill from the stress of that storm, Rusty being one of them. Hubby and I do our best to keep stress to a minimum in this house but we do not have control over the weather.
SO glad you enjoyed this post. I couldn’t for the life of me recall what the flower was called so I named it yellow brick road. My garden brain has yet to be ignited to the ON position. LOL I’m sure you know what that is like!
Much love to you this day!! xoxoxoxoxo
