Thoughts Of A Thinker

      1. I’ve used two bodies for years, and always have two different bodies — one with a super-wide-angle 17-40mm, and the other with a 70-200mm. Right now I have the 70-200mm on a 7D Mark II. The crop sensor makes the lens a 112-320mm. If you are using a super-wide-angle lens like a 17-40 or 16-35, then your 6D with the super-wide-angle should give you excellent quality as a second body with the wide-ange lens.

      2. I have my 16-35mm on my 5DMk4. Perhaps I’ll switch up, putting my 24-70mm on it and put my 16-35mm on my 6D. The 7D Mk2 was the other camera body I had in mind. I like the crop factor. (smile) Thanks, Tim, for taking the time to get me to think about this even more. I also like the 70-200mm (I have the 100-400mm). So much to choose from …. one literally could go broke buying. LOL

  1. Isn’t it wonderful when you have a camera that takes photos which need very little editing? So much easier, and so much more fun.

I noticed on the way to work this morning that the bright reds have come out! Wish it were my day off.

    1. It is pure Joy, CM! As I said to another commenter, now my question is, can we afford another 5D Mk4? I like working with two camera bodies …. sigh. My one lens for landscape is f2.8 24-70mm and the other one is f2.8 16-35mm. Both I absolutely adore! The price tag on a 5DMk4 is hefty. Perhaps we’ll win the lottery? Perhaps it will go on sale?
I just texted another photographer asking about the Ridge. So far no answer. Today would be perfect IF the colors are what I wish them to be out there. Sorry you have to work …. I did this morning and now eating my breakfast. Do you know of any way I can check to see about the colors in Chestnut? xo

      1. Hey Amy, I don’t know your system over there but we have forestry workers that (surprise, surprise 😀) look after the forest, and would have an idea of how the colors would be on a day to day basis in most areas, especially if it is marked as a reserve of some kind? just a thought 😀

      2. I called Chestnut today and left a message. I have yet to receive an answer. Some trickles of conversations I’ve heard today were that the colors up there are at their peak now. Now how true that is, I don’t know. I’ll have to go myself. I meant to today but I wasn’t up to it. I had to take a “down day”. Thanks for the advice, Mark. Much appreciated!! xo

      3. Oh, you had it all under control anyway dear lady. Just go and enjoy what comes…you’ll probably have the rarest animal or bird land in front of you to take the rarest shot this century anyway 😀
Mind you, I don’t know what you’ll do if its a Bigfoot 🤣

      4. LMAO!!!! I just put away my long lens, darn it. Mark, don’t say things like this! Now just like the other day I happened upon a flock of migrating birds, I will cross paths with something unusual that I could have used my long lens with. OH, how I’m laughing right now!!! I can only carry so much you know. Teehee ……

  2. Beautiful photo and tricky question, dear Amy 🙂
Once many years ago as a child, I asked my Granny about, where the soul has its place in our body. She looked at me, but was not able to answer…
    Much love to you ❤

    1. Thank you, Irene. And yes, for sure, this is a tricky question, one most people don’t want to even address. But we are not most people are we? I am of the same mind as you. My “thought” that the voice, the awareness is our connection to our Soul, or Source, or God …. our Higher Selves. May your day be a great one today!! Much love to you! xoxo

    1. Dan, I stood there in awe with these giants towering over me. I couldn’t get over the form and the different shades of all these incredible colors that just seemed to glow. Fall this year has been sporadic but when I do find the colors, they are mind-blowing!!

  3. First thought I had when I looked at this photo AR was a scene from an aquarium….The trees that shoot up with no branches almost look like coral in the sea…Great pic by the way! One of my favorite things is the color of blue sky in the fall. Somehow it seems to get a deeper blue and the color of the fall leaves are such a contrast as well…Thanks for sharing….Have a good week ahead. Hi to all the babies and hugs to you….VK ❤

    1. Very cool, VK! You are right. It does look like an aquarium with the red trunks looking like coral. I never put the two together until you said something! And I agree with you about the sky. SO blue when the sun is out shining, especially in September and October!
You are welcome for the share. I’ll tell my babies hi from you and thank you for the hugs. Hi back to all of your babies and big HUGS from me. xo

  4. Love the rich, vibrant colors you have captured in nature Amy! It’s just starting here in NJ. I also appreciate being aware of the observer who notices thoughts and can let them pass on through without attachment.

    1. Oh, Cathy, you are in for a treat if those colors are anything like they have been here. It’s been sporadic but when I find that color, wow, and I mean wow!
Good for YOU for being aware. I’ve read that our thoughts are unconscious and it takes awareness to even be conscious of them. You are evidently on the self-empowerment path. (smile) And then letting them go …. at times nearly impossible. Right? xo

  5. Believe it or not, but lately, I was thinking about exactly this too. Who is the thinker? It reminded me of Eckhart Tolle who had his profoundly insightful moment when he lied awake at night and thought: I cannot live with me anymore. Which says, that there must be two of me. The physical me and the spiritual me. I am sure you know his books, if not… he has a lot of answers… stunning!

    1. Like minds and all that, right, Erika. I’m actually reading ET’s “New Earth” and this is where the ideology behind my “thought” came from. Profound sessions I’ve had just thinking and pondering and reading this powerful book. I’m so engrossed reading all about the ego …. the learning that is unfolding!! Many many times I’ve said “There must be two of me” (before reading this book) and that has had, in past times, had me concerned due to my mother exhibiting symptoms of bi-polar. But! All the thinking I’ve done and all the “discussions” I’ve had with me, leads me to know without doubt, that I am me, just me, in all its perfection and flaws. I’ve been on this really exciting journey of late, and it sounds like you have too. I LOVED this comment, dear friend!! (((HUGS)))!!! xo

      1. This is too cool, Amy! Totally kindred spirits we are. I loved Tolle’s books and they played a big role in my transformation process. Yes, I felt there are two “mes” I often think. The one that knows exactly what it wants and what to do and the other one that is holding it back, is scared, sceptic, insecure. But as you said, in the end, what makes us is the mixture of all our components. And all of thos components help us evolve.
Gosh, I really hope we can meet one day… we only needed to reserve enough time… lol!

      2. The scared, sceptic, insecure “me” has everything to do with how I was treated as a child, and overcoming those obstacles is so difficult at times. When I do step into my powerful self, overcoming my fears, I feel 10-feet tall!

ET’s book is riveting. I had it in my library for years but it seems now I am ready for it. Wow does it ever make me think! And if it is meant to be that we meet, dear friend, we shall!! (((HUGS)))!! xo

    1. Sylvia, I’ve had my “new” camera since Spring of this year. Sorry for the confusion. What you saw in this post was the very first landscape picture I took with my camera. I’ve been using a long lens for birds and wildlife before now with it. I honestly am stunned between the difference my 5DMk4 and my 6D in landscapes. Remarkable! Have a great day today!! xo

  6. Hi Amy! Very majestic! The forest and trees hold so much love vibration for us all! Here’s my view on thoughts: (It’s a post I’ve been wanting to write): Our thoughts come from our experiences in the past. They fire before we’re even aware they’ve been produced. We aren’t the thinker, the thoughts aren’t ours – they are just produced. We even pick up on other’s thoughts! I have no control over my thoughts whats-so-ever. I have insights too coming from somewhere. When I’m just allowing my thoughts to occur – without believing them (especially the negative ones) and without them influencing my life, then there’s room for wisdom from the mind. It’s all fascinating! Thanks for sharing your thoughts today and your splendid photo!! Much love to you! Donna

    1. V-e-r-y interesting perspective about thoughts, Donna. This comment really had me thinking …. and still is. I’d say there are two classifications of thoughts …. subconscious and conscious. Example … thought …. “I’m going to go over to my neighbor’s to see how her Dad is doing.” And so I do. The subconscious thoughts fire randomly and if you meditate know how difficult it is to quiet the monkeys. This is a fascinating subject …. the discussions could go on infinitely. Thank YOU for sharing your thoughts ….. You tickled my pondering mind. (smile) Much love to you, Donna! xo

  7. A glimpse of heaven through your lens dear Amy!
Your question about who is the awareness – I feel it is very grounding to be in that question, to be able to pull back from any mind chaos – who is the one aware, the one thinking …
Just sharing what came up for me 🙂

  8. Amy….that deep thought made my brain jiggle. It’s the third time I’ve encountered that very idea today. 😳 The photo is so rich. It’s been such an incredible autumn, hasn’t it? Have a beautiful weekend, dear one.🌹❤️

    1. LOL Jiggle? Just imagining what your brain looked like when it jiggled got me giggling. LOL Third time is a charm. Hmmmm …. The Universe is definitely up to something as It tries to get your attention. Pay attention, dear Julie. I believe you about to be educated. (GRIN!) You have a great weekend as well! I learned today I will not be going to the gym on a Saturday! Between the gagging perfume some girlies were wearing that actually stunk up the entire gym (interpret STRONG!) and a very rude man who left 4 45 pound weights on a free-weight machine after he was finished with his sets, I’ve decided uh-uh. I actually yelled “What an asshole!” Oops. Yep, true! So much for being a Master of my emotions. Teehee FYI ….. I just slid those free weights off down to the floor and then informed a strong man who worked at the gym about the situation. I was not about to get hurt. xo [Smart!]

      1. Well, there are more unsightly places that jiggle. I have listened to the Universe and got down to the task. Strange feeling observing thoughts. As for mastering emotions- sometimes they need to be unleashed on assholes. It may not penetrate their egos, but it sure feels good. 😇High five to you, sista.✋😎

    1. Andrew, it’s actually not a new camera. I’ve had it since Spring. What’s new is the first landscape image I took with this camera. Thus far it has only been wildlife. Sorry about the confusion. A few others thought as you did. Oops.

    1. Aw, thank you, Anthony. I didn’t do as much chasing of the Fall Colors this year compared to years past. My closing up my gardens this year just tuckered me out. I did a lot more just looking then taking pictures. The colors this year have just glowed! And more importantly the actual feeling of the Presence of God was so strong I could have fallen to my knees in absolute reverence, except I’m no spring chicken anymore. (smile) Much love and many blessings to you! xo

      1. What you did this year was just what the Lord desired you do….

“And more importantly the actual feeling of the Presence of God was so strong I could have fallen to my knees in absolute reverence.”

“Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. 29 Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls….Matthew 11:28-29

        Blessings Amy!!
