From My Gardens

    1. I learn so much from the Natural Kingdom, YellowCable. As for this particular Red Tail Hawk, he was checking me out, keeping perfectly still as he did so when I shot this picture. Thank you for stopping by to view not only the beauty found in my gardens, but the story that was told within my gardens. Have a great Sunday! 🌟🌟🌟

    1. I will not ever forget what I witnessed, Hien. What an honor to be trusted like that. That hawk was very close to our house and in a garden he did not have 100% access to get away if under attack. This act of Love really touched me deeply!!

  1. What an extraordinary story Amy. Somehow, before you even mentioned his family, I had a thought that he was bringing this meal to his young ones. Isn’t nature and all if it’s creatures incredible. We can learn from them. How fortunate you got to witness this Amy. He’s a stunning looking bird. And thanks for sharing. Truly beautiful. x ❤️

    1. I agree it is an extraordinary story, Miriam, one in which are “lessons” for anyone who reads this. Just watching him put me in awe. I couldn’t tear my eyes away from him …. his beauty was something that is hard to describe. That picture that I showed says what I have trouble describing in words. I will not ever forget this hawk. I hope to see him again! May you have a great Sunday! 🌟🌟🌟

      1. So very special. These birds of prey are so majestic Amy. I can fully understand your awe. Thanks again for sharing. Happy Sunday to you as well and yes, I hope you see him again too! 😊

    1. My favorite image is the Red Tail Hawk in my MIL’s garden. How that bird posed for me as a thank you for not recording what he did, as I described in my story. Hope your Sunday has been a great one, Emma. Mine has! 💜💜💜

  2. Beautiful gardens Amy!! You put a lot of work, dedication and love into your land and it shows! Incredible photo of the hawk. Last year I witnessed this selfless act with Blue Tit Parents flying back and forth to feed 5 babies. The father was looking pretty ragged (he had to feed the mother for 19 days before the babies were born) and his color had changed because he was so tired. The parents of these baby birds really take a beating. Nature can be brutal, but the fit survive. Hoping that father hawk gets something to eat soon! Thanks for sharing this amazing nature event! Much love and have a great weekend! Love, Donna

    1. Yes, Donna, I do put a lot of effort into my gardens. Some are rather sparse this year for I have not run to the nursery to buy more perennials and the fact, some of my perennials are not doing too well. What I have shown, however, is doing amazingly well. I will wait until those gardens that are struggling speak to me on what they want. And take my word for it, they will tell me. They always do.

Amazing story about the Blue Tit parents. I’ve observed Robin parents doing the same, just not stopping, going ALL day long! These birds and their loyalty doing everything they must are a huge lesson for humanity, in my humble opinion. And yes I too hope by now that Dad Hawk has eaten. I was shocked how weak he was allowing me to see. That humbled me! Much Love to you too, dear friend. I’ve had a glorious weekend …. I’m just SO into the Moment right now!! (((HUGS)))! 🌟🌟🌟

  3. Thank you for this visit to your garden, Amy, the toil of your work is evident in the beautiful plantings; I enjoyed both videos. And the RTH story is wonderful!! First, that you captured the photo of him is terrific. Second, that you got to watch this event unfold, took the time to observe, and did not interrupt is really lovely. Thanks for the vivid description and sharing this event with us.

    1. Aw, you are welcome, Jet! Some of my gardens and what is in them are struggling due to this weather we have been having. I’ll wait until they “speak” to me as to what they want before I plant any more. And yes …. what my eyes saw with this RTH blew me away. I honestly couldn’t figure things out at first but yet I knew if I was patient I’d get the understanding. Those of us who have a trusted relationship with Mother Nature must know when not to step over the “line” and when to hold off in respect. It’s just a “feeling” and I’ve yet to ignore it. I’m so glad you stopped by to read this amazing story. I know how much you Love Mother and Her Creations!! Much Love to you!! 💜💜💜

    1. George, I do not ever take for granted the privilege I have been given to observe Mother Nature is ways that stun me. And when events as such that I described here happen, and I sense this is too private for me to record, I do not. I respect Mother deeply and honor Her. My Heart beats with yours knowing you understand why I did not videotape the event that unfolded in front of my eyes. Much Love to you! 🌟🌟🌟

  4. Majestic being he is! They are so gorgeous and beautiful to watch flying…Glad he kept at it until he got his prize catch to his family. An interesting analogy for all of us on our journey. Keep at it until we can bring about that change we so need! May we soar like hawks into our dreams. Great shot you got of him. Have a happy day….Much love…VK ❤

    1. Majestic being indeed! I would swear, he knowing I was looking at him with my camera, posed for me. I’m so glad I did not go against my Inner Direction not to video tape. Yes oh yes we all can learn from this bird of prey. Much Love to you, VK!! 💖

  6. Amazing, Amy! What an incredible event you got to witness. And I get the whole idea about it being an event for eyes…not a lens. There have been so many instances lately where I want to grab the camera…and then something inside says, “Watch this with your whole being!”
I hope you are well, my friend. Your gardens are beautiful…I guess the water was needed!
    Much love and light ❤

    1. Lorrie, I’ve been paying more attention lately to that voice within about what to and what not to capture. There are times I just want to observe, to merge with everything around me, and not focusing on what to take pictures of. Birds especially take a lot of concentration and at times in the process, I miss out on a lot around me.

I am well, thank you. I’ve been slowing down, appreciating and drinking in Life all around me. My gardens …. those that I have shown are doing well. Others not so well. I’m waiting for those that are struggling to talk to me as to what they want me to do. And they will. Much Love and Light to you! 🌟🌟🌟

      1. Hi dearest Amy! I can feel a peace and serenity in your words and that brings a giant smile to my face!
I know there were a few times in the past that I was.so intent on getting a shot (with my phone) that I completely missed the event in the moment. Makes me think about awareness…and how taking and preserving certain photos is a way to live in the past…it is like not being present in the moment!
I’m glad you are discerning and not missing life in the process of your beautiful art…a balance is what is needed I suppose…?
Best wishes of love and light to you as you move through this week! 💜💜

      2. Yes I’ve gained much Peace, Lorrie. Thank you for noticing. Balance is the exact Angel card I drew that I have been contemplating upon this week. Another confirmation. I’m really trying to not chase my tail anymore, although there are times that is just what is. May your week as well be filled with much Love and Light! Bless you, sweet friend!! And oh …. you sensing Peace in me only tells me you are finding that very same thing within yourself. (smile) 💖

  7. That’s a reality show! Amazing to see nature in action. Great how he was able to manage that heavy weight. Of course, the motivation was giving him the necessary strength.
I love your garden photos and videos. I have such a pink bush in my garden too. But the blooming is almost over.

    1. Hi, Erika. Yes what this hawk showed me drew me like a magnet. When I am needed in this house (cat-wise) I must attend to that matter …. and so I missed how he managed to get that heavy squirrel up to the nest. He did though. Amazing!
As for that pink garden, it’s fading as I write. No the flowers on those bushes don’t last long but OH how they are beautiful while they are here! The red roses are still going and in fact, there are more of them today. Thank you so much for stopping by to see what is going on in my gardens. Much Love to you! 🌟🌟🌟

      1. Yes, those moments when certain bushes of flowers are blooming are so special. I treasure them a lot. My roses are beautiful this year too. Thank God, the wet May has not harmed them but the hot and sunny June made them pop up on and on and on…

    1. Thank you! I know humans are not the only ones capable of Love. I’ve seen it with my very own eyes with the Cradle of Mother. I’m so touched you enjoyed the story about this magnificent hawk. 🌟🌟🌟

  8. The things we witness in Nature when we give ourselves the gift of time to just sit and watch. Yes, some things should not be photographed or videoed. I had a similar’ very sacred situation with some ravens and an eagle a few days ago. So honored to have witnessed it. Thank you for sharing this beautiful story, Amy.

    1. Aw, Julie, thank you for this comment. There is so much I do miss out in Nature but when I do have the time to just be still and watch, yes yes what I do witness boggles my mind. I’m with you …. the honor I feel still today that this magnificent hawk, knowing I was there watching and taking some pictures, allowed me to see him in his weak Great Strength Moment. You are so welcome for this share. My hope is that this story made people think ….. Much Love to you!! 💜💜💜

  9. You were given a very beautiful thing to see Amy, the love you felt within it is a most treasured thing indeed. They don’t happen too often, but when they do it leaves a mark that says ‘this is a gift, protect it’.
Thank you for sharing your gift my friend ❤️

  10. So beautiful, so humbling and so awesome how you were able to follow, witness and recognize this experience. I am astounded that you could see the exhaustion of the bird and to know the kindness shown by the bird is way beyond what I have ever imagined seeing in a bird. Your garden is an amazing product of your hard work and your heart work too!

    1. I’ve been hanging with birds for quite a while, Prag, and my “vision” has deepened in that I see more. How my Heart went out to this hawk who went to extraordinary measures for his family, putting his safety in jeopardy. Every time I look at the garden he was in I remember him and wonder how he is now doing. Thank you regarding my gardens. It’s a continuous labor of Love. Much Love to you! 🌟🌟🌟

  11. Wow. What a truly touching story of love indeed! You’ve made my heart smile just reading it. I truly believe the hearts and minds of the animals we witness in nature are far beyond our human understanding. Including their empathy and compassion. Beautiful! Thank you for sharing all of this. You made my day! ♥ (love your blog, by the way!)

    1. What an absolutely gorgeous comment! Thank you so much! I have a very special connection with Mother Nature and through my passionate love affair with my camera, have the ability to show all who come here the magic I experience. I attempted to leave a comment on your blog …. not sure if it went through. And another thank you to you for “loving my blog”. Bless you! 💖
