With one eye on the clock, I was headed towards my Chiropractor’s office. If I hit green lights for the most part, I think I had a good chance getting there on time. When I saw flashing lights ahead of me after crossing a huge bridge that spanned a huge gorge, I groaned. Sure enough … a detour. I’d be late.
Following the cars ahead of me, with nary a clue where I was going, I moved along with those cars. I do have a good sense of direction, however, and knew whereabouts I was going. Grabbing my cell, I soon discovered I did not put my Chiropractor’s number in it, so I called home asking Hubby to notify my doctor that I’d be about 7 minutes late.
Why you wonder would I say 7 minutes? I dunno. I just did. I had a “feeling” that’s how long it would take me from the point I found myself before I would get to his office. Sure enough, 7 minutes it was.
Coming home along the same route after my adjustment, the cause of the detour, a huge accident, was still blocked off. The detour was still in place. This time however, I had to turn in a direction I was absolutely unsure of. The first time I had to turn on the other side of the detour, I kind of sorta knew where I was going. Now however, no way. Uncharted territory …
I heard myself “thinking” … I’m game! Let’s do this!
Another “feeling” then overcame me. It went something like this …. I am about to discover something so keep my eyes open. Not easy to do when I’m following the cars ahead of me so as not to get lost, while driving the same speed they are which was about 45 mph on a road I am totally unfamiliar with. Yet, I kept my eyes open.
And whammo! Sure enough, my eyes saw something that looked like a sign for a park. A park? One that I have no idea about? Yep! Remember me mentioning a huge bridge spanning a huge gorge? Every time I went over that bridge in years past, I wondered if there was any way I could get into that gorge yet I never saw an access road.
Guess what? I was driving on that very access road! And yes I have every intention of exploring this park. That should be happening in a few days. How exciting! I so look forward in sharing with you the treasures I discover.
I found a park all because I was forced to detour around my normal route. See what happens when you step out of your comfort zone? I’m not saying this happens all the time but, this time it did.
Earlier that same week I was literally blasted out of my comfort zone so forcibly and in such a shocking manner, that the experience actually knocked my back out. I went to what I consider a safe place and a person who represents hell on earth, was now working in that safe place. I walked out of there shaking inside, knotted like a pretzel on both sides of my neck and my lower back. Mega pain to the point I was on the couch. Thus, the appointment I made with my Chiropractor.
Yet there too, IF I had not had the bombshell experience, I would not have gone to my Chiropractor the day I did. Consequently, I would not have had to go on a detour and would not have discovered this park. All things truly are connected and have a purpose! Amazing!
