This year my spreading Phloxes are absolutely gorgeous. My images do not do them justice. I even am showing two short videos, below, of my front gardens that contain these flowers. I am intoxicated. I am healing. I am actually singing again as witnessed in one of the videos. Yep, I broke out in a spontaneous short song from sheer happiness. Amy’s bird song ….
Due to all the rain we have had, my phloxes are profuse and so vivid. Yet, between getting hit very hard this past Winter and now with very little sun showing, my sun-loving flowers are struggling, including my roses [gasp!] and my lavender bushes [oh no!]. OH how we are in need of something called sun. I’m not sure if all of my flowers are going to make it. The white Candytufts (seen above), for example, are about 1/3 their size compared to last year.
All the long stems you see yet in my gardens, are my daffodils. When they begin to brown, that is when I cut them down. The sun gives them nutrients for next year. Crossing my fingers that will still happen. In the first video, there is actually a rose bush, so small you can barely see it. I don’t think She is going to make it. Again, crossing my fingers She will. Come on, Sun!
To close this post, I tell you all a little story from the life of a Gardner. I made sure I sprayed Liquid Fence on all the plants those darn deer would destroy if allowed. I thought to myself, “Huh, I am ahead this year!”
And as I was working in my gardens just the other day, I saw to my horror plants eaten by deer that to my knowledge they don’t even like, so-called deer-resistant plants.
Now? This Gardner is spraying everything in sight, yes even those plants that are deer-resistant. Here I thought I was one up on those darn deer. Yah, right! I believe I got the big FU finger in deer language. The nerve!

Aw, thank you, YellowCable. Those gardens are only the tip of the iceberg in comparison to all of my gardens. Yes it is a lot of hard work, but that work pays off. I’ve created my Heaven on earth. (smile) May you have a great Sunday! 🦋🦋🦋

Great looking gardens AR !!! I can relate to deer chewed plants. I use deer stopper which helps but sometimes they eat whatever suits their fancy and I don’t know why as I plant deer resistant plants as well…Here I have miles and miles of woods and fields around me for them to munch on but no, those plants look so much better. Grrrrr…My son finally went back yesterday so I will be back soon. I need a day or two to recover as my old body is worn out from the kids energy!!!See you again soon….Much love…VK ❤

So good to hear from you again, VK! We have miles and miles of wild land around us, and those deer still come to my gardens. I feel the exact same way ….. Grrrrrrr!! You take your time to recover and embrace everything that took place. I’ll talk to you when you are up to it. Much Love to you!! 💜💜💜

OOOOOOOO no!!!! Paleeze don’t say that! I am using a DIY repellent that is supposed to ward off ticks and everything else. I pray it works … I do NOT need to get bit by ticks.

Gorgeous gardens, Amy. But what really captivated me was your voice! Love that NY accent. Funny how hearing someone’s voice really adds a new dimension to an online friendship. Have a delight Sunday.

Hi, Julie! I didn’t realize I had a accent. I seem to have a “mix” of southern and NY due to talking to my sis from NC. Glad you enjoyed my tour. Now you see the Beauty I have created with my own two hands. Yes those gardens and many more you did not see, I made and then planted each of those plants with tender Loving care. May you have a great Sunday. I’m on my way to my Heaven … my magic …. the forest. Much LOVE to you this day!! 💜💜💜

Hey Amy – absolutely gorgeous yard! You should be very proud of all the work you put into your gardens!! My sister tried lots of stuff with the deer – now she has a real fence!! It’s the rabbits now getting in eating stuff! Oh well… Have a lovely holiday weekend!! Much love, Donna

Aw, Donna, thank YOU! I am proud of my gardens. I created every single one of them, those you saw and MANY others you haven’t seen (yet). I planted every plant, every flower, every bush. Every year I hear hubby saying, “Honey, I’m going to help you this year with the gardens.” Has he followed through? Um no. Our property is too big for a fence. I wish. So, I keep spraying and running after those critters. Now I have coons on the sly drinking the sugar water I have out for the Orioles and Hummers. OH the life of a Gardner + all else I do! LOL Much Love to you!! 🌟🌟🌟

Beautiful landscaping, Amy. I barely have the energy to maintain the petunias my daughter planted for me, and we still haven’t mowed the back lawn due to the rain. It’s looking more like fields than lawn right now. Hopefully it will dry out enough by tomorrow, what with today’s sunshine. Hugs, friend.

Thank you, CM!! I’ve been taking wonderful supplements after my bout of walking pneumonia. I’m gaining weight and strength, thank goodness!! Our back is still soggy but we’re getting there. Hopefully this SUN will stay out …. my roses are begging for that sun!!! Much Love to you!! 🌟🌟🌟

Holly, I just spent the last two days resting. No joke. When I go I go. Then comes a day I must rest. So I do. I’ve learned to pack a lot into one day. I even take me by surprise some days. Truth … I don’t have the energy I used to have but I am gaining it back with the supplements and food I ingest. (SMILE) XOXO

It seems the deer never read the literature on what plants they don’t like to eat. They are the worst at knowing what it is they are not supposed to like. You have a beautiful home, Amy.

Thank you, Scott. Long story short … everything you saw in those videos hubby and I created. We built this house …. we were the General Contractors, yes sub-contracting a lot of the work out but we did a lot ourselves. For five years we saved and for five years hubby drew up blueprints as we put our heads together regarding what we wanted in a home. Every garden for example, I made and then I planted every bush, tree, flower, and plant. Hubby did help with the trees and some of the bushes but I did the rest. I will be showing more of my gardens as they come to “life”.

Honey, I have read your comment several times. And the only advice I feel is right and true is this. The only way you can achieve a state of Peace is wanting it so badly that you actually create it yourself. My life circumstances are far from perfect, believe me, and there is much heartache interwoven in my life. Yet despite all that, I am determined that my Joy, my Peace will not be taken from me by anyone or anything. It’s an attitude and then sticking to it. No one else can do this for you. It takes a lot of courage to look inward to do the inner work in order for Peace to be maintained. Example …. if you carry anger around with you all the time, you will not find Peace. I’ll share ….. a former Veterinarian lied to us and withheld precious information that would have saved three of our cats. They most likely would still be alive today. My cats are MY family! Of course I did not know this until after the fact but when I did, I felt such rage and wanted this man to suffer the way he made us all suffer. Over and over and over again I let go. I forgave. But still I felt so angry. I know of ways that work for me how to let go and to really forgive. So I did them again and again. I KNOW that when you do forgive and let go, you are actually doing it for your own benefit so that you can find release from the inner torment. You and you alone have to decide that Peace will be present in your life and then you do everything you possibly can to embrace what is rightfully yours and not let go of it.
I hope this helped. I am honored that you read my posts. Please just take my words at Heart level and allow them to assist you in your life. If I can do it, you can. If you have time read my “About” page. I was a very abused child, and worse of all, not shown Love. IF I can turn my life around, so can you. BIG (((HUGS))) and thank you for trusting me to talk to you. Bless you!! 🌟🌟🌟

Like wise Amy,, I am spending time in our home garden too, lifting spring bulbs and re-potting up tubs with Begonias and summer flowers..
The weather while its been good, now has taken a dip into wet and windy again, Always a battle with the elements 🙂
Your fascination with birds, I echo too.. I was thrilled to watch the Robins chicks fledge their nest so tiny, they hardly could fly.. Their parents protected and fed them and although I was worried about them as we have our neighbours cats use our garden as a regular cut through.. ( I miss our cats ) but enjoy the company of others.. I was astounded to find the next morning two of the baby robins had sheltered inside a pile of small plant pots on their sides on a workbench shelf next to the garage.. So all was well.. 🙂
You should have seen me, Like a clucking hen, lol fussing they were ok.. I think the robin knew I was watching over them too, as he sat close by never moved while I was near them.. 🙂 ❤

What I have learned as I have watched Robins with their young, is how selfless they are and they just don’t stop until those babies are out of the nest. And even then, they teach them to fly. Amazing and so very humbling to be able to witness close up and personal how these birds live. I’m with you about being the clucking hen. I am so protective of ALL who visit our property. 😘

We are similar in so many ways Amy.. I cannot believe it but sparrows are building another nest in our shrub, I wonder if their first one perhaps was destroyed?.. I watched them flying in with huge long pieces of fresh grass and twigs which too some juggling to position with several missed attempts at getting into their place with out the twigs catching on branches.. Love watching!!!… Oh for you Zoom camera Lens Amy LOL.. 🙂
