TRY TRY AGAIN!!
Mother does not ever and I mean ever disappoint me! Two days ago the light was not friendly for this photographer to be taking pictures. It was a heavy overcast day with a real threat of yet more rain. Yet, my Heart yanked me in the direction of my favorite park. So I went with my Faith Shoes firmly tied to my feet. Of course, prior to going I had no clue what treasures lay ahead.
My last post I told you how I lost so many pictures. Not only did I capture even better pictures of those that I lost, but Mother gave me Gifts above and beyond that which I could have dreamed of. Friends, even though I struggled with my AF [poor lighting], and because this photographer still doesn’t know how to correctly set the AF on the new camera …. I received Gifts from Heaven.
What I had thought was a White Egret is actually a Caspian Tern. Below is the picture I chose to show you. There is a reason that the hardest subject to photograph is a flying bird. I can attest, it is hard! I was actually groaning out loud as I was holding up my very heavy lens for so long. But I did it, darn it, and managed to get a pretty clear picture even with an ISO of 800.
I admit not the best picture but you get the idea. He’s begun to dive.
Now the real story today is the Great Blue Heron I actually stumbled upon. I didn’t even see that there were two Herons, and I missed the action when they both began to fly. What was I doing? Checking out this picture on my LCD camera screen:
Then! I heard a loud commotion and quickly looking up, to my astonishment I saw two Great Blues colliding in mid-air, then flying off. I managed to capture one of them …. [Lesson learned … don’t take my eyes off the subject … ya never know …]
I don’t know about you, but I could gaze at this picture all day long! Wow!
Now for the bonuses Mother gave me. There is one bird in the gallery below that I could not identify. Help anyone? Click on first image to enter gallery:
May all of you have a glorious day today! The weather I hear is supposed to warm up and dry up so this photographer will be busy in her gardens. Good thing too. I’ve begun to get exasperated with my new camera. When set up it is a wonder machine! But first I have to learn how to set it up properly. I will! I thought I had it set up right yet again the struggle proves I do not …

The Tern pic is amazing!!! Loved the Heron too. Loved them all….You are learning great patience my friend! The sun is sort of out, for how long who knows. Not long probably. So I’m out the door before returning to more house work. Have a happy day…Much love…VK ❤

I happen to favor the Great Blue Heron pictures. That Tern however, was incredible as I watched him dive for fish. I attempted to capture the actual dive but …. blur is all I got. LOL Yes, VK, I am learning patience. Birding is the most difficult undertaking in photography that I have to date attempted. Sun is out here today too so I am out in my gardens. I have ALL my front gardens finished! YAY! Now for the sides and back … groan! Housework here …. needs it desperately. If I get vacuuming done today this house will be lucky. You have a happy day too!!! Much Love to you, dear friend! 🌹🌹🌹

Dan, I cannot thank you enough for your encouraging words. Capturing wild birds is the most difficult aspect of photography I have ever undertaken. My long lens requires a lot of light in order to work correctly and the AF on my new camera has so many choices and combinations, that I have to figure out which settings are best for birding. May you have wonderful day! Hope the sun is shining your way! It is here! YAY!! 🌟🌟🌟

I think the camera needs a verbal assistant like Siri to give information on the setup Amy 😀

LOL I have a really good book that has step by step instructions on how to set the AF but I have to figure out what settings are best for birding. It would be SO nice to have a verbal assistant on my camera. That too has explanations as what settings are for what, but …. no specific ones for birding. I’ll get it. I know I will. When I feel like this I dive into other things and then go back to my camera. When it stops being fun, I stop. (temporarily) Much LOVE to you this day, Mark! 🦋🦋🦋

You did a great job, Amy Rose. I agree with you about birds in flight being the most difficult to photograph. Mine have usually disappeared before I can find them in my lens. 🤣

Thank you, Sylvia! Birds in flight are tough! Not only are you contending with a very heavy lens, holding it high, looking up high, but to actually capture a bird clearly ….. yikes! Sorry but I did get a laugh at what you said about how birds usually disappear before you can find them in your lens. I relate! 🌟🌟🌟

Thank you, Amy! Yes I am more then happy with my camera. The learning curve however is a big step up from that of my 6D. The AF menu is very complex with so many choices and combinations. I’m following a book now on how to set the AF up but I think I will try to find a YouTube video specifically for birding as to which settings to use. This camera is a keeper. I plan on growing with it over many years. 🤗

They were there just for you. Another one of God’s subtle reminders and nudges that helps us to firmly remain on His path, seeking to live every facet of our lives through Him. To think, He arranges such majestic beauty for us to capture, whether with camera, paint, or pen, in order to convey His message to all….

I know, Anthony. Believe me, I know. To even think that God arranged this just for me humbles me greatly. Yet if I had not put my shoes of Faith on and gone to that park, those Gifts would not have been seen. I just had this “strong” feeling I would be seeing exceptional things. And I surely did!

I’m sharing something with you that I think I will be writing about. I’ve seen so clearly that time and all the “structures” man has created to obtain order truly does not exist …. ONLY Nature exists as All That Is. When I step into Mother’s Wonders, the “fake” world disappears and the Real World appears. I’m learning how to ignore the clock in order to flow with Mother. I succeed some days more so then others, but the more I practice, the more proficient I will become. I feel so much Peace when I look out my window, for example, as I am washing morning dishes, as I watch the action at my bird feeders. I want to be free like the birds and animals …. just to BE. 💜💜💜

Oh, Amy, you stroke a chord inside of me with what you wrote here. I experience nature as the only thing I can really align with. It doesn’t work with any other thing or activity. Nature also in relation with our personal nature makes happen in me what you described. Since we gain our energy only from that I agree with your observation and experience that, in the end, only nature is the persistent energy and creation. Awesome, Amy. Looking forward to your post. Please let me inow when you publish it. I don’t want to miss it😊💖🙏

Great shots, Amy. Could your mystery bird be a type of sparrow? From that angle it is hard to tell exactly which species. Here are some to look at: https://www.allaboutbirds.org/guide/browse/taxonomy/Passerellidae

That’s a really good guess, Eliza. I know the picture is not that great. This bird is larger in size then a sparrow with a beak almost like a Grosbeak. I’ve looked and looked. I’ll start asking photographers the next time I’m at this park. I saw these birds all over the park the past few days I’ve gone there. Thank you for the link and thank you for trying to help me. 🦋🦋🦋

I don’t know if you get House Finch where you are but supposedly they can exist as yellow birds rather than the familiar red. Sorry, that’s all I can suggest. You’d do best to keep your photograph on the camera and to ask a local birdwatcher.

Aw, thank you, Donna! I am floored by what you said! When I embark on something I put my entire self into it. I’m also a fast learner. Hubby gets frustrated with how I learn so “fast” because it takes him much longer to learn. I do not take this aspect of myself for granted. I am SO grateful that I am able to do what I do and how I do it. Now there are certain subjects I do not grasp …. foreign languages, engineering, politics (LOL). May you have a great weekend too! Astounded and Stunning!!
You really help me look at these gifts the way they should be looked at – with amazement and awe.
That is another thing to learn from you – You really own your gifts, I love that. I tend to create distance from my gifts as if stay humble but I actually stay small because of that tendency – not really allowing my expression to the fullest.

YES! Astounding and stunning I agree! And yes I do own my Gifts. That was a journey, one I am still traversing upon. I encourage you so much to embrace FULLY your Gifts. This is not in contraction to humility. No. Humility is attitude. Embracing fully your Gifts is Gratitude at its highest. You deserve to stand tall and “proud” of who you are and what you do create. This is uniquely yours. No one can take that from you except for you. Staying small and staying humble are two radically different things. You were meant to fly high and reach the sky! This is not a deterrent to humility. I call it ego-less pride. (smile) … Self-Realization. Much Love to you! Go grab your Talent and expose it to the fullest! Fly, dear friend! Fly! 🦋🦋🦋

I need to read your words every day to practice and embody 🙂 Such positive inspiration and wisdom you have given me … I am actually wanting to shy away from, staying small is my comfort so I am calling it humility. This is the direction of my growth then that I need to embrace. Thank you. Thank you so much.
