This post was supposed to be a double feature. Then I changed my mind, as only I’m apt to do especially when it comes to what I publish here. For those of you who are panting for flowers, know that my next post will show you the colors I found in my gardens. But first, however, this post will show you how my experiment with night photography turned out.
*Good things come to those who wait. (wink)*
A new follower, Don, found my blog recently so I went over to his blog to view his blog. His latest post, “Night Photography And Night Settings” bewitched me. I poured over this chock full of information post and decided right then and there to start practicing hand-holding my camera at night set at a high ISO. Darn you, fear, I’m throwing you away and at the very least I’m attempting to do what Don explained in his post.
One morning around 6am, even before I had my coffee(!), I grabbed my cherished camera, put on a hoodie, and headed out the door. Setting my ISO for 6400(!), I began my adventure going no further then my front door stoop and my back door stairs. I have Don to thank for in getting the “kid” to play with something she hasn’t ever done before.
You’ve seen the feature photograph, now for the entire series in the gallery below. It will benefit you to view each image full size, they are just that different! See what I can do when I throw that voice out that says, “Oh, you can’t do that!”? There is no such word as “can’t” in my vocabulary!
Click on first image to enter gallery. Please do enjoy! All images were taken at ISO 6400(!) with an f/stop of f/5.6.
