That morning, I put a stone in my jean’s pocket after getting dressed. Carefully I made sure that stone was way down at the bottom of my pocket for safe keeping.
I had finally made another hair appointment after canceling my original one. I made sure all our cats were stable and that Hubby had the instructions how to feed lunch to our fur babies before I left. Feeling secure all was well, I left for my appointment.
All went perfectly well. Hubby managed without me and fed our cats, getting an A+! My hair turned out so beautiful my stylist took pictures of it to put on the salon’s website.
Evening came and too my shower. Putting my hand in my jean’s pocket to get my stone, I discover it is missing. No way! There was absolutely no way that stone could have dropped out of my pocket. Panic ensued.
The shower all but forgotten, I tore the couch cushions off thinking perhaps when I was laying down for a while that stone had fallen out. No stone.
I made a call to my salon alerting them I may have lost my stone there. They were kind enough to look for it. No stone.
I had gone outside to photograph the images with this post. Carefully I looked making sure I re-walked every square inch where I knew I had been. No stone.
A-ha! My car! Quickly I checked the seat, and the floor. No stone.
I could either be upset or just accept what is. Just too much has occurred lately for me to become upset any further. I shrugged and said to myself, if it is meant to be, that stone will come back to me.
Heading back towards the bathroom, I took my shower. Once in my pj’s I walked to the master closet to get a pair of socks. And as I did, my eyes fell upon a discarded pair of jeans I had thrown on the floor just that morn.
Then it hit me. In my haste in getting to my hair appointment, I forgot I had quickly changed my jeans. In so doing, I neglected to transfer the stone to my second pair of jeans. You got it! The stone was in the pocket of the pair of jeans I had initially put on.
And yeah, I had a good laugh on me. The stone is now in a safe place, one that I will remember. Even though I did panic a bit, all turned out good.
Speaking of good … The Season of Spring is upon us here, as evidenced by teeny tiny shoots of green. The bird picture was a total surprise. While enjoying a park I go to, I was in landscape mode both mentally and with my camera when I rounded a bend and saw a flock of birds in some bushes. They looked like sparrows. I attempted to fumble my way to a higher shutter speed to get some shots off, but only one frame was I able to shoot. When I saw what I shot, my jaw dropped. I got a Cedar Waxwing! He’s included in the gallery below, the same as the feature picture.

I’m laughing a little at the stone story, Amy, but only because I’ve done things like that. Especially the frantic looking everywhere part. The Waxwing certainly is a handsome little guy, great capture.

Yeah, that Waxwing was a surprise beyond anything I was “expecting”. And to have been able to get him in clearly with only one shot! Well! I’m patting myself on the back for that one! I also thank you for telling me I actually made you laugh. I think most of us can relate to what I did. 😉

Your comment put a huge smile on my face! Mind you, these are TINY signs of Spring. If one did not know where to look or how to look, these tiny specks of green wouldn’t even be seen. Happy Monday to you! 🌈

I know that feeling of panic so well. Usually the object (which is usually a stone 😉) shows up, but when it doesn’t, I tell myself that it must have been time for it to mosey along. Makes the loss a little easier to take. Thank you for the earliest of spring photos. So hopeful. 😊

Julie, you are so welcome for the early Signs of Spring. They greatly encouraged me as well. Even though extremely tiny those green beginnings point the way to flowers soon to come. (((HUGS)))! 🌹

VK, these are TINY shoots of green. I really had to look in order to find them. Yet, simply because they have broken ground, they tell me flowers will soon be here. I will keep those signs of Spring coming …. Thank you for the hugs …. SO appreciated!! 🌈

Great story – and so easy to do! It’s funny though, seeing the first pair of jeans on the floor – recalled a whole memory that would have been completely forgotten. Amazing sometimes how our lives can go so fast, the little things forgotten unless there’s something specific that was paid attention to. Just thinking back to my morning and getting ready for work – so many little things forgotten! Great photos of Spring!!! Take care – many hugs!! Love, Donna

Thank you, Donna! So true what you said … I really was “flying” to get out of the house, giving the change of jeans hardly any notice at all. Oh yes, so many not only “little” things but major things as well forgotten. Just with my life alone, I know how much I contend with daily. It seems my brain can only hold just so many conscious memories. I hope one day when this stress of what I do falls, more of my memories surface. I’ll do my best to keep on bringing the unfolding of Spring. You take care too!! (((HUGS))), Amy💝

Laughing is SOOOOO good, isn’t it? I’m sure whether or not we admit it, we all do what I did now and again. And yes there will be more pictures coming big promise. I just have to have Spring to cooperate with me on that. (wink!) Much Love to you! 🦋

Suki, it is such a pleasure, believe me, to read comments like yours. We all have so much on our plates to contend with and if I can make for a lighter moment or two here on my blog, way cool. The last few posts have been very deep and very heavy so time to put together the light stuff. I am so grateful to you for your compliments towards both my writing and my photography. I’ve worked many years to arrive at the style in both that I have today, and still I am changing and improving. Big (((HUGS))) to you! 🌈

Well, love the photos and glad your hair turned out so well. 🙂 Very happy the fur ones are okay and you didn’t have to ask your husband to live in the garage for not doing his job. So happy you found your stone. Those things are important to us but sometimes they do leave,of their own accord, because they are needed elsewhere. That doesn’t make it easier, it’s just something we tell ourselves to feel better, but it’s true, nonetheless. Glad it was snug in your pocket and all is well. We aren’t even close to having any green thing pop our.Still have snow and ice and temps so low it’s hard to go out. I’m happy you’re getting there. I bought an aloe plant today, to add to the other plants so I can pretend things are still alive in this bitter and never ending winter.

Count yourself lucky you can have indoor plants, Gigi. I’m not able to do so on account of my cats. Things are still alive …. we may not SEE them but they are. I’m really hoping that this year our Spring will be a good one. I am seeing many Spring birds here already so here is to hope!! 🌹🌹🌹

So much water has gone under the bridge lately, Erika. I just don’t have the energy to get upset right now. I’m hoping to find more green soon and after that early Spring flowers. I really had to look to see these. TINY they are. IF I wasn’t deliberately looking, I would not have seen them. Much Love to you! 💞💞💞

I hear you. The more happened the less we are bothering or at least asking ourselves if it is worth to bother.
The good news is that time is working for the flowers and they will grow quickly.
On Sunday, I saw the first storks returning to their nests. It was such an amazing moment as if it was THE moment when spring is truly back!
Much love to you, too, Amy 💖

I luvvved the feature picture! It is so very beautiful, even in the fact that the bird has its back to us. The colors are brilliantly yet soothingly beautiful. I truly appreciate how you help us peek into the miniature world of nature and appreciate the details …all the while narrating your lighthearted story of the stone 🙂 I am glad you found it!

That bird was a total surprise, Prag. I thought it was a sparrow but when I saw it in my editing room, I was like …. pinch me! So many of us are ready for Spring and if I can bring GREEN here to my blog, then so be it. My past few posts have been very deep and heavy, so time now for a bit of lightheartedness. I’m glad I found my stone too. AND!!
Today I interviewed a Vet who was recommended to me and I found a truly gifted and Blessed Vet. We spoke for a good hour and she is on the same wave length as I am. In fact, she is writing her thesis right now to get her Masters in Acupuncture! That is a huge wow!! I can finally walk away from the nightmare Vet we have had. Oh, Prag! You have no idea how relieved I am! My family has been so hurt by this man, but no more!! *tears* 🌈

And to find the Vet on a resonating wavelength! That is a tremendous gift. I have a hard time finding service providers who ‘get’ me. So I know this is huge! I am so happy for you 🙂

Thank you, Amy. Regarding your question … no these images are taken with my Canon EOS 6D. I am in the process of purchasing a Canon EOS 5DMK4. After long contemplation, I’ve chosen another full frame camera opposed to a cropped sensor. The time is now to get this new camera and to figure it out (a whole new and more complex system then what I am presently using) in order for me to capture these Spring birds. I’m really excited about this!!
