There I was, at ease, lying in the dental hygienist’s chair. That should have been my first red flag. I was at ease. I was comfortable, conversation and laughs flowing back and forth between me and the dental hygienist who is a sweetheart. The more she said how funny I was, the more laughs we had.
After my teeth had been cleaned, in walks my dentist to check the panorama film that had been taken and to take a quick peek into my mouth. Standing next to me and of course looking down at me, he asks, “How is everything?”
Out of my mouth pops, “Well, Doc, it looks from where I’m at like you are up and I am down and we both are hanging for now.” The moment, and I mean the moment I said those words I turned bright beet red down to the roots of my hair. With face aflame I realized the sexual innuendos of what had just come flying out of my mouth. Of course, I did not mean my words in that context but….
Being very fair of skin, the blush was very evident. How I wanted to crawl under that chair I was laying on as acute embarrassment bit me you know where! With burning face, I forced myself to blip over what was just said to continue the conversation, asking my dentist how the biking is going. And act as though nothing out of the unusual happened even if my face was on fire!
Such is life. Especially with me, that is. And I’ll be, I can still blush! Dear heavens I didn’t know! Sometimes I’m clueless as to what comes out of my mouth. It’s just there. Blah. And it’s out. Blame that on my cats. They know how to be themselves and in being with them, I’ve learned how to be just me. You could say I’ve left the games behind whether others like it or not. For the most part, people warmly accept me for who I am. Even when I blush. ☺️

Hysterical….I still say it is time for mental telepathy as words seem to constantly get us in trouble these days…Your experience made me remember back years ago when I had dental work done and the guy was giving me laughing gas. I had never had it before and it freaked me out, the feeling it gave me, almost as if I was falling and I reached out frantically to hold on only I ended up grabbing the poor guy in a very delicate place…Talk about embarrassing…Oh well…What will be will be. Great pictures of winter. Well done AR! Now I’m ready for spring…..Hugs…VK ❤

LOL@VK regarding your story! Oh my! How funny!! I had no laughing gas, mind you to blame for the blah that came from my mouth. Believe it or not, I’m really enjoying Winter this year. Who me? Yes me. Perhaps by March I’ll change my tune! Happy Weekend, dear friend!! (((HUGS)))! 💖

Great story Amy! Seriously, only you at the dentist could be coming up with something like that! 😎😷 Too funny! I love snow scapes, they are my favorite of all time photos. I don’t know why, maybe because I always feel magic when it first snows. It lights up my heart. Your shots are wonderful, and since there is no snow here for me to relish in – I’ll keep on enjoying yours!! Have a great weekend!!

Thank you, Donna!! I’ve learned to laugh at myself and NOT to take myself too seriously. I LOVE to make others laugh, and that is exactly what I did with my dental hygienist. As for the embarrassing moment ….. I could have very well done without that but …. who knew I could still blush? Teehee …… I too really LOVE the snow especially when everything is all white. I’m really enjoying myself this Winter, dear friend, a new first for me!! Happy Weekend!! ☺️💝😁

That is funny. I did not pick whether the Doc. is a He or She. I hope the Doc. took it well as a light matter. I would say that is not to worry.
These are awesome winter scene just as those post cards!

Beautiful photos. Great story. Reminds of a joke where a woman was lying in the dentist chair full of anxiety about having a cavity filled. The dentist comes in and asks how she’s doing. She tells him “Oh! I don’t know. I think I’d rather got through labor to have another baby than have my teeth worked on.” The dentist replied “Well. Make up your mind so I can adjust the chair!”

Better to be real, I say. But since that gets me in all kinds of trouble, perhaps it’s not such good advice after all.

Look on the bright side. In England, nobody would have seen the slightest bit of innuendo in what you said.
More importantly, they are wonderful photographs of the desolation of winter., especially the second one of the whole lot, with the effect of fog or mist.

John, some of these images were taken in the morning when it was snowing outside. I had a towel slung over my camera to keep it dry. I LOVE the effect falling snow has. Thank you for noticing. You are the first one to do so!! And as for what happened at the dentist … whatever! LOL 😁

What a winter landscape Amy, the beauty in its intricacies of lacework, shapes and just outright amazement at what a winter can do. And believe it or not, I was stunned by the photo where the red tractor stood out to break that all white scenery, it was somehow magic among the magic. I think it was letting me know that the world was still there….waiting 😀
Maybe that was a symbol of a flaming red face on the dentists chair, spirit was talking to you through your camera? 😀 ❤

I am SO happy you are enjoying, Mark, my white playground of late. It is amazing what Winter can do, for it transform all that is around. Thank you for saying something about the photograph you pointed out. I stood looking at this amazing portrait that Mother painted for a LONG time. Without those red tractors, you would have thought the image was a Black and White one. Nope. And perhaps those two tractors represented my flaming cheeks? LOL Too funny!! Teehee ….. Much Love to you! 💞

images are beautiful, commet was not so sexual, unless you are paranoid ( due to media awarness).

I’m the furthest thing from paranoid. As for media, I avoid it. In my own way of thinking, there were sexual innuendos in what I said. I also happen to blush when embarrassed. And that’s as it is with me. 💝

You got a laugh out of me on this one, Amy. Ha ha. I rarely blush, but when I do, I’m so mortified that I blush because I’m blushing. I enjoyed your sense of humor about it. Must be the cats. 🙂

Teehee …. I like you blush to the point my ears flame hot red as well as my chest and neck. Yes I have a unique sense of humor as both life and my cats have taught me NOT to take myself so seriously …. and laugh at me. (with me) SO glad you laughed. This was written for that very Intention. 😂😂😂

I went to a writers’ conference and somehow, do not ask me how, I got my arms (knobby elbows) stuck between the slats on my chair back, both elbows! For several minutes, I tried to secretly wriggle free, but I could Not get out. Eventually I had to ask for help. That stopped the whole conference, while everyone tried to figure out how the heck I’d become stuck and how to get me free. I was so red-faced that I was sweating. It was embarrassing to say the least! But I also couldn’t stop laughing. Yeesh! Lol.

I’m so glad you enjoy coming here, Michael. I do try my best not to fall into posting like posts all the time so I like to mix things up a bit.
