*IF you scroll through each image slowly, you will see figures and “other”.*
What a surprise the sun came out!
So like a flash with camera as clout
out the door I flew, hi ho!
Grabbing a blanket to lay down on snow
quick likity split
I began to click
knowing full well time was short
so shot I did without mission abort.
It’s been very overcast here with warmer temperatures. All the pretty snow is pretty much gone so landscapes I wouldn’t even attempt right now. When I saw the sun pop out yesterday I flew to a window and saw some blue in the sky. You bet I was going to grab this opportunity!
I honestly did not have a whole lot of time to consider composing each image. I knew I had to work fast and smart. Getting contrast white against white (or in this case dirty snow) is not easy so I did a lot of playing in editing rooms to get what I was aiming at to pop.
Now, if I had given up the moment I saw only a small bit of blue in the sky I would not have achieved these images, nope, not at all. Again I caught rainbows and this time I saw lots of figures, which I will leave up to your imagination to see. Some of you could say I got lucky yet, if I had not attempted to get outside and down on the ground to capture what I could, none of what you just saw would even exist.
Every image is of tiny ice crystals, some of which so small that they actually fell off as I was capturing them. I made sure my hands were extremely steady by having my entire body on the ground and holding my breath with every shutter release. I guarantee you that if the temperatures remain as warm as they were yesterday, these ice crystals will not be here today. Good thing I decided to at least try to capture Beauty.
