Sometimes in order for a photographer to remain sharp
she must challenge herself which requires
a good eye, at times overcoming a hostile environment, seeing art,
a steady hand, and pushing beyond her “known” boundaries.
Sometimes a photographer is willing
to subject herself with discomfort and hardship
all for the purpose of gaining a shot
that otherwise would be overlooked or shrugged off.
And sometimes a photographer must prove to herself
she still has what it takes even when her hand trembles.
All these pictures were taken in my front gardens. Yes I was on a very cold ground but I was willing to do so. I made sure I was dressed warm but even then I could feel the cold through my winter clothing.
Carefully I scanned the snow crystals I saw looking for unique patterns. Each image was focused manually with me on the ground using my body as best as possible as a tripod to steady my trembling hands. I also held my breath until I could no longer do so to eliminate all movement from my body to take each shot.
I found out in the editing room my hand is not as steady as when I am shooting macro photography consistently. I haven’t used my macro lens in a while so two days ago I decided to do just that. All these shots are of extremely tiny subject matter and all have a very difficult level of execution. With a little help from PS I managed to bring in the exact quality I had hoped to obtain myself.
Thank you for joining with me today in viewing my Heart’s Passion. My camera is absolutely the main physical Vessel that enables me to keep me Balanced. My camera is both friend and therapist in both good times and bad. I will keep on keeping on, sharing as I do, what I am creating.

PS Max bought Mommy a new lens so that Daddy could have Mommy’s EF 24-105mm lens when they go out together on a photoshoot. When I read the reviews on this lens, Max convinced me to purchase it. Below is a test shot. I’m blown away by the tack sharpness of this image. The stats are:
Canon EF f/2.8 24-70mm, ISO 200, f/2.8, SS 1/10, FL 24mm
This room is a disaster zone waiting for remodeling:
