Perhaps yesterday will be the last mad dash run for Fall Colors. If that is the case I have more then enough images to show you. I hear the white stuff is a-coming as soon as tomorrow. I had to take a real deep breath before I wrote that tidbit.

Zooming like an electron within a cell, zinging with “I can do this Energy” in order to get out of the house by 11am, no one dared get in my way. Getting out of here that early mandates a minor miracle. Yet I was in the park before noon!

Smiling as the sun warmed my face, camera in hand, I was in my element in that park. Ahhhh … this was the life! Before long however, clouds [again] rolled in. That didn’t stop me. Heck no! I was not going home until I absolutely had to! Everywhere I looked I saw some tender morsel just begging my camera to capture it. Within 1 hour and 45 minutes, I shot 164 single shot frames!

The plan was to return home, feed our cats lunch, and then go to park number 2. That did not happen. The dark clouds getting ever darker plus the time change made sure of that. No worries. I had more then enough pictures from park 1. My Heart runneth over.

With no further to-do, I give you a trailer of all the treasures snuggly stored in my treasure chest, brimming over with rare golden nuggets. Please do enjoy. These pictures were taken by moi in Como Lake Park.

Water Colors

Glory! Mirror to Heaven!
I stood here a LONG time.
I was thrilled when I captured this. I had to kneel on the ground in order to get a clear shot. I LOVE this! There is a mystical feel to this image.
This looks like a painting to me. The lighting and the way I took it created this. No special effects in PS.

 

Wood Colors

Cradled in warmth …
Standing in a gully I aimed up focusing on the roots and filling the entire frame with the orange colors.
This tree put a wow in my throat as I stared how this tree decided to shed its leaves. The form left is mind-blowing!

I would have liked to edit more images to show you. But … life calls. That is just the way it goes sometimes. I used my new 25% graduated neutral density filter which in my opinion did an outstanding job. No other filter was used. I hope you enjoyed viewing these incredible Gifts from Mother. I thank each and every one of you for stopping by to view what I Love to share!

  5. Amy I loved all of these shots, especially the one you LOVED the one you had to kneel down to get the magical shot.. Hope the white stuff holds off a little… here its cold with rain… Autumn both sides of the pond this year I feel has been special.. Thank you Amy for sharing the GOLD of your work with us here..
    Sending love your way and to your four-legged friends.. On a sad note today our Daughters Cat Merlin who was an old old cat, peacefully passed in his sleep last evening… So we are all feeling a little sad today…

    1. The white stuff came down a bit today but most is melted, thank goodness. And I thank you so much for your feedback about my photography. SO happy you enjoyed what I Love to share. I am in awe of what Mother has been showing me of late!

      I’m so sorry to hear about your Daughter’s cat. She is one of the lucky ones, please tell her that. She doesn’t have to agonize over the decision of when to have to euthanize her beloved one. How I wish mine would go like that! Much Love to you and Huge Hugs as well!! 💞💞💞

  7. Oh my goodness AR…I can’t get over how many leaves you still have and we are not that far off our locations…Odd. No leaves on trees here let alone colored ones. Just bare, stark, gray branches reaching for the sky in anticipation of winter. Glad you were able to capture the last remnants of fall and boy are they stunning!!! Thanks so much for sharing.     1. VK, due to fierce winds, rain, and now snow, the remaining leaves are fast disappearing. I’m crossing fingers I can get ONE more day of documenting FALL. If not, I am happy with the cache I’ve got. So sorry to hear you are so stark already! Oh my! That’s terrible! You are just going to have to get involved with an indoor project (that goes for me too!) to take your mind off the bleak outside.   10. Very nice! Yes, Autumn always gives us a very colorful last look at Mother Nature in her best dress. Colors here in PA are just about over, but what is left over is never tiring to see. Soon the cold of Old Man Winter will be upon us. Snow is already forecast for the upper parts of PA. It will get here soon enough. Not looking forward to that.

    1. Thank you, Les. The white has arrived here and the winds are still howling. I’m not sure if I will be able to get any more Fall captures what with this weather and all. We’ll see. Starting with Spring, these Seasons have been disappointing overall. Hopefully next year will be better. Happy weekend!! 😁

      1. No snow here yet. The Winter winds are howling here also. Blowing leaves all over the place. I have allot to pick up, as always happens this time of the year. Gives me excersize!

  11. You must have been please to get these wonderful shots! Worth all the time and trouble. The water shots are stunning and the tree that “put a WOW in” your throat – I felt the same way.     1. Yes, Donna, I was more then pleased. I didn’t know how my pictures would turn out with the filter I was using on my lens. But when I saw how my images were coming out, I was thrilled. I could have been in this park all day long. That wow picture was actually taken twice. Once from one direction, and in my coming back the way I had come, I saw the “opening” needed to get a clear shot. I missed that the first time around. The first time I took this image there was a branch in the way so I deleted it. Bummer! I was congratulating myself out loud for my find, not caring who heard me. I was like an excited kid kneeling on that ground!

      We’re getting some white stuff right now and those winds have just again begun to whip once more. Howling more like it. Oh boy! Is this what I have to look forward to this Winter? I hope not! I pray this is just a fluke and a passing phase.

  15. So lovely Amy! I identify with wanting to rush out to capture the color. I had hoped to go out and paint this morning but it’s just not happening and as it turns out the day is rather overcast. Can’t believe you have snow in the forecast already. Have a great weekend!

    1. Yes, Catherine, we do have snow on the ground right now and the winds are howling. It’s freezing outside. I’m not sure if all my chances to capture Fall are now gone.   23. There IS something invigorating about being out and in it. You see endless shots and could stay for what seems forever. Amy-What a wonderful colorful success. I am noting that I like that you used a graduated filter. Working with nature not against it. These are fantastic. Thank you. Also it’s great I can click for full size. It’s like clicking my shoes together 3 times

    1. I’m so far behind in answering my comments but when I saw yours come in I just had to answer yours out of context. (Life has been busy!) THANK YOU for the encouraging words you left for me. I chose the graduated ND filter because the day had been sunny when I first started, and I did not want the glare of the sky to interfere what I was shooting at …. my goal was to obtain a balanced picture. I do have a CP filter but I wanted the yellows to pop and with the CP they usually don’t. I actually had three other filters with me, but decided to keep the graduated filter on even though it became cloudy. I really liked the results I was obtaining.

      I have a WP theme where I can display my images full size, yet if I collect them in a gallery as I have begun to, I can add my own private thoughts about each image, making it a more personal journey for those who view my images. I’m thrilled you enjoyed yourself here today. I consider your words high praise from such a great photographer as yourself. Bless you!!! Have a great weekend!! 😘😘😘

  25. Beautiful awesome photos! Our Autumn was ended early. We have already had three days of light snow. And it has been cold enough to keep it on the ground and cause slippery conditions. I love the coziness of winter, but love the beauty of fall so a bit sad it was cut short.

    1. Thank you, LeeAnn. Our Fall is over. The high winds and torrential rains made sure of that. I agree with you that Fall was way too short, especially this year. Yet I did my best to capture Fall’s Beauty. Whew! 🍁🍁

      1. It’s always clear to me when someone is embodying her/his purpose. I always let people know when I sense it, to let them know that I noticed. Very few notice anything these days and it can get discouraging. So: “I see what you did there” 😉

      2. Boy oh boy you nailed it right on the head! Very few these days notice anything outside of themselves. It is not only at my blog that I’ve noticed this. It is rampant in the world how hardly anyone anymore seems alive or aware of what is going on around them. When I cross paths with someone who shows life I get all excited like a kid at Christmas!
