Gazing upon Unknown Territory
I marvel at the Arresting Scape
in multitudes of dazzle
while fluttering butterflies
tango in my tum
~~~~
My long awaited take-off succeeds
allowing me wings
gliding elegantly effortlessly
in the Horizon of Blue
to explore this Unknown Scape
~~~~
Yet within a mere blink
the Blue transforms into Storm
forcing me to quickly seek safety
before the violent clash of rain
threatens to bring me harm
~~~~
Nowhere do I find
a place of kind refuge
while beating my wings
against tempest winds
continue do I to seek
a port heralding Calm
~~~~
My Heart pounds ferociously
for no matter the direction I fly
no beckoning of coverage
is seen to avoid this coming storm …
So instead of fleeing
I perch on a Branch to weather the storm
Ξ
I close my eyes and hang on
as the storm fiercely pounds its wrath
tearing me to shreds
until I thought I’d die
… and then a lull a quiet a peace …
for as I clung to that Branch
~~~~
Heaven arrived
showering me with Love
all because I chose to
weather the storm upon
a Branch of Faith
when no Safe Port was found.
Summer storm building to refresh your flight Amy 😀
Great pictures of the birds too, gliding the thermals that build that very storm 😀
Yes, Mark, we finally did get some rain which we badly needed. And finally the dangerous heat broke as well last night. While this storm was building the thunderheads were just magnificent! So glad you enjoyed this post. Much Love to you this day! 💕🌹💕
Hi Amy,
pictures are wonderful. I’ve always wondered if the sky tells us something with that shapes, with that patterns . The pictures are really incredible.How did you make them ?
Hi, Ben. I didn’t make the clouds but rather I just captured them with my 100-400 mm lens. None of these images are cropped for I photographed them as you see them. Are they not make nificent??? Have a Blessed day this day! 💕🌹💕
I know, right, Miriam? When I saw what I captured I was mesmerized! Thank you for your compliment on both my photography and words of wisdom. There are “layered” meanings within the words, so depending on where you are at in your life, hopefully you related according to your life. May you have a grande weekend! 💞😎😘💞
The sky and clouds are awesome! Beautiful photos capture the depth of them! The birds soaring with the sun hitting their wings – great shot against that really blue sky! Love to rose too – they are your trademark!! Much love to you! Donna
I am so happy you came on by and saw this post, Donna. When I saw what I captured my mouth actually hung wide open in awe and amazement. The longer I looked at these clouds the more my amazement grew. How often do we even look up at the sky to see what is above us? How often are our eyes on what we are doing or on the ground? So much of Life all of us miss including me. The two birds, the turkey vultures, were actually a fluke when I photographed them. They appeared from out of nowhere as I was photographing these thunderheads. Again I so appreciate your comment and I am encouraged by what you said. I know flowers are my trademark yes, yet I really am doing my best to enlarge my capacity in what I am able to photograph. Bless you! 💞🌹💞
Some wonderful. lovely photographs. The cloud ones reminded me strongly of an aviation poem from the last war, ‘High Flight’ by John Magee…
His story is here…
You could have used your first five photographs to illustrate the poem!
Oh my gosh, John, thank you for sharing these two links! I’m stunned that someone so young wrote the poem I just read and I’m saddened to know this young man died at age 19 in a “flying accident”. I’m so touched that you thought my pictures would go along with John’s poem. I’m honestly choked up right now ….
Oh wow!! Indeed a storm is a perfect setting for transformation right before we become awash with Love. It washes away, breaks down, cleanses and gives the courageous the opportunity to start building anew …with great Love. Amazing pictures and beautiful poetry!
