The Sweetest Melody
Given to you and to me
A Serenade without fee
For your listening pleasure I included a 2 minute recording of the birds and bullfrogs at the exact spot that is seen in my image above. I was so engrossed in listening to the Song of Love all around me I didn’t even hear the jet overhead until I played this recording. It is not easy to find a place of Complete Silence that does not comprise of man’s noise on this planet. At least not where I live. Just sit back and allow the Song of the birds and bullfrogs speak to your Heart.
This audio recording was taken at Reinstein Woods Nature Preserve Park in NY. This year it could be renamed Reinstein Swamps. We have broken record after record of rainfall here in WNY between April and May. Oh yes we were in need of rain (Mother always balances Herself) but … I’ve run into some problems.
Now it did not happen here, but further ahead of me was a nightmare I did not foresee coming. Oh yes I did, even against the odds get some amazing shots, but I was attacked! Ferociously I may add! Mosquitos in hoards dive bombed me from every which direction. And I had insect repellent on.
Oh these suckers are making up for last year when none were even seen due to our severe drought. I’m going to have to figure out a way short of mosquito netting to get near water this year. Two days ago both eyes, especially my left eye were extrememlely swollen and red. Why? A mosquito landed on my “third eye” (the space between the eyes) when I took this picture (May 27th), and hours later the venom settled in my eyes. Imagine having a mosquito bite in your eye. Nasty!
Thanks to my Sis, she offered help suggesting I make a paste from aspirin and apply it to the swollen areas of my eye and face. It worked! So just passing this tidbit along if any of you may be interested. I am not able to ingest aspirin yet low and behold, because our skin does absorb (something to think about there) the aspirin’s anti-inflammatory properties worked. Nice! And then hubby last evening gave me a Homeopathy Remedy that further reduced the swelling. Starting today I’m eating garlic and whenever I step outside I am spraying myself liberally with insect repellent! If that doesn’t work … a tank?
