Lush canopies
arching from above
Scents of moist earth
teasing the nose
Hush of Solitude
hugging the Soul …
With Gratitude and Respect
this traveler tread.

This should be (now no promises) the last of mostly green images I will show you. I am enjoying every single solitary moment of GREEN this year that I can possibly drink up! As some of you know, Winter is not an easy season for me to get through and to have this amount of green still all around me, is a Gift straight from Heaven itself!
We still do not have a lot of bright WOW color here. And I’m still not sure how this Fall is going to play out because I am seeing a lot of bare trees that seemingly overnight just dropped their leaves. Just know I am doing my best to find that famous Autumn foliage for you to ohhhh and ahhhhh over. (smile)
And oh just yesterday this is what our backyard looked like. Guess what? I found that WOW color sitting right in our backyard. As I was washing our dining room windows I couldn’t help but stop to grab my camera. I’m so glad I did. Color is it you want? Color it is you get!! (smile) This color happened it seemed almost overnight. Temps dropped two nights ago and in one day this is the result.
❤ ❤ ❤
We are starting to see pockets of bright color here, too, Amy. I love it, but I still like your greens 🙂

Ah, but did you see my surprise, my forth image, Dan? LOL I found color right in my own backyard! 🙂 ❤

I did! That’s what I’m talking about. We still have a lot of green, but then, wham, right in front of you is stunning color!

Right! I was shocked actually to see this color yesterday because it seemed to happened over night. And still most of our trees are green as well. I may literally have to run with my camera this year to catch full fall. I have NO idea what to expect. Mother is keeping me on my toes this year!!! LOL

I just love your green color, Amy 🙂
Your other trees are also amazing in the colors and much are happening, when the temperatures are going down.
Here we just have had thunder and rain since the night and until short time ago. I hope for dry weather, at least why I need to walk with Odin later today.
In very short time the temperatures have changed here too, so I feel very cold at the moment.
Much love ❤ Irene

Irene, temps have changed very quickly and very dramatically here as well. I too have been feeling cold and when that cool air hits my hands they hurt. I’ve really been asking if I can do winter landscape this year on account of my hands. I have arthritis in them and when cold hits them it is very painful. The whole trick here is to dress warm and to get the circulation moving fast. That is when I can expose my fingers to the cold, which I must do in order to press the shutter and adjust the dials. I am going to look for these special gloves that are thin but very warm to wear under my photographer mitts. That might help immensely and I may be able to work with my camera with them on.
SO glad you enjoyed this post, dear friend. I’ll be posting from here on out color. Trees are turning fast now. 🙂 ❤

I do understand you so much with the cold Amy, I have Osteoarthritis in almost all my body, so I find it difficult to do much, when it is very cold.
I love your beautiful posts 🙂

I’m going to do my best to combat the cold this year. I always feel like another person when Spring gets here. The moment that cool/cold begins I feel it. The key for me is to stay active but when you become stiff and the pain increases so far from easy to do. I have a pair of yoga gloves with grips on the fingers that may do the trick. I’m going to find them and see if they would work. 🙂

Thank you for your idea with the yoga gloves, I will try to find a pair to use in the cold. I find it so difficult to do anything, when both the fingers and body are stiff.

I just found mine and they are fingerless. In other words the gloves only go to the first joint leaving the fingers bare. They are not going to work. I’ll have to find another way.

Not good Amy, I will try to find some skinny but warm ones to use in the cold time.

Beautiful colors we never really see in the south.
Of coarse, we don’t see ‘white’ either.

I was wondering if the summer’s drought in NE would affect the foliage, but the maples are as beautiful as always…:-)

The drought has effected everything here. Nothing is normal. I have no idea what to expect this year. I am catching color as it comes. 🙂 ❤

Yeah, I know. I’m drinking in deeply, my friend, believe me. There is a part of me that mourns when those trees go bare. The seasons are special all in of themselves, yet some are more difficult for me. I’m learning to Love all of them. 🙂 ❤

Somebody should wash our windows so I can see what’s in our back yard. The picture wouldn’t be as nice though.

Why thank you, Luv! I cannot but help myself when it comes to Mother. I am so in Love with Her! Today is a warm day again and sunny so I plan on using a total of 3 filters on my lens (LOL) and visit a nearby park. I have enough pics to show, but I just personally cannot get enough. The forest and Nature calms me, balances me, lifts me. I need Mother like I need air to breathe. ❤ ❤ ❤

Amy, just love the images and loving the green still and the way the trees arch over the trail. Nice pop of color in your own backyard. Still not much color here, yet! Hugs ❤

Kathy, I’m going with my camera as I see the colors change. It’s tricky this year yet I am really managing to capture some great color. Most trees here are still green yet through the tree in the forest I am finding color. I was out again today and so more are coming ….. Hope your rib is well on its way to behaving!11 (((HUGS)) ❤

Laura, I believe my favorite color is green. It’s just so calming and healing for me. The months that are coming are not easy for me to get through and I know you saw my video from 2014. Oh man please NO! That was Winter Storm Knife which dumped 7 feet of snow on us in 3 days. EEK!!!! ❤
