  1. Beautiful Amy. I love the light and shadows in the sunset at the top third of the picture, gives a feeling of the power of the sun 🙂
A lovely sunset and rain shower, thank you for sharing…it is making me hanker for my camera I have promised myself when my project is finished. I am going to take a long holiday and snap to my hearts content, as you have 😀

    1. Go for your camera, Mark! I do encourage you to do so! You men and your projects … You don’t know how to stop what you are doing, take a break, rest and enjoy, and then go back to the project. Hubby’s head is so focused on this door project we are involved in and no matter what I try to say to him to encourage him to take a break, he doesn’t. You don’t need a holiday to take pictures. If I waited for a holiday, I would never take pictures. I make time. With intention, no matter how much work lay in front of me, I say today I AM doing such and such, and I do it. Even if I am in the middle of something and see that golden light outside, I stop and grab my camera. Life is too darn short to miss these opportunities. As I keep telling hubby, there is more to Life then just work. Sure I am behind, yet in looking back, JOY takes precidence over dust bunnies and laundry. I even began my Fall gardening yesterday. So …. Grab that camera of yours no matter what you are doing. (smile) ❤

      1. lol…that’s telling me mum 😀 , and so damn true.
Get my subjugated mind out of my backside and live, life is way too short to be blindsided by a stubborn stupidity and thinking that the world will stop if I do 🙂
Right, just for that, i’m going for a couple of sunsets too. I’ll put them in my gallery and alert the world to the sublime art of ‘just being me’…as you have done 😀
Wise and beautiful lady, you have done what a thousand before you have attempted and failed….get a guy to listen…lol 😀
Your words are my command…I shall rest, relax and remove this thinking, and become a lover of life as you have so wonderfully shown me with your camera Amy 🙂

      2. Oh wow! Now all I require is someone to come along that hubby will listen to. *sigh* That man is so stubborn! And fixated! YAY for you! Grab with gusto what you can NOW and then bring that “feeling” of wonder and JOY with you while you work. It makes for a much more pleasant environment all the way around. LOL
I still cannot get over that I got through to a man’s brain. Well, wonders never cease!! Whoa!
As for sunsets …. Mine was actually sunrise. I don’t make it for the sunrises in summer for I do not rise that early. But now? You betcha! I still have yet to catch a sunset so that is on my agenda!! Go catch one, Mark!!! LOL

      3. And oh, by the way, when you apply this philosophy, and mind you it is a process for you will fall back into your fixated mind …. Just sayin’ … So be gentle on you … Anyways … When you do flow with this philosophy of embracing Life, when you do work, your stress level comes down, and you will find yourself smiling, maybe perhaps whistling while you work. I wouldn’t have much of my sanity left if all I did was focus on work …. Dear heavens!! And the way you wrote was just too darn funny!!!! Heheheheheh ❤

      4. Don’t tell hubby that I listened, he’ll think I’m strange 😀
But I must tell you that I am more feminine than masculine (I’m a Cancer with a Cancer rising), plus the heart healing and counseling that I do from asking spirit to guide me through my fears.
THAT journey will change the hardest of males, but it must be done when they are ready. From what you have already mentioned in passing, he has been through one of the most traumatic events in this world and it will have left its scars.
In time he will be ready, and as YOU already know, it isn’t an easy journey, that is why YOU are with him, you will be the guide that he will need when it is time.
In the meantime my friend, enjoy the cloudy sunshine, and be ready for my amateur sunsets from ‘down under’ 😀

      5. Bless you abundantly, kind sir, for encouraging me in my choice of Life Walks. It has been challenging, fearsome, satisfying, painful, Joyful, ….. Too many mere words to try to encapsulate what my Walk has entailed. Yes my husband has been through too much, and the scars go deep. I rejoice that he is now on a working/repair mode instead of closing down in front of a TV or computer. The losses in our lives recently are motive enough for him to move in order to escape the intense Heart pain. I have waited 26 years for this wooden screen door, and by gosh it looks wonderful! I’ve been posting on FB regarding the process. Anyways, I’ll be thinking of you getting sunsets and I look forward in seeing them over on your blog!!! 🙂 ❤

  3. Wow Amy – both shots are really amazing beautiful. I’m happy for you, that you got your new camera. You are right, we need to take our time out to do, whatever we feel are right for us, right now. One day it might be too late and who wish that?

    1. I had a NDE in 1984, Irene, and that is when I was taught how precious Life is. I didn’t understand the full meaning of what I was given until years later but now I really live fully to the best of my ability. Sure I dream of doing more or doing other then what I am, yet I make the best of where I am in Life NOW and not bemoaning the fact I am not doing this that or the other. May you have a really good day today, dear friend!!! ❤

      1. I’m happy to hear, that you are doing, what you feel are right for you here and now. This will also be the things, as we might remember later, all the things we did and don’t need to regret, that we even did not try to do.
Thank you very much Amy, I’m right now working on a post about my new shop, as are much different from the others, so all good thoughts are welcome. Much love ❤

    1. LOL And then some, Scott!! They didn’t last long. We are right back to hot and sunny!! That day and the next I went walking/hiking and yes did get a wee wet, but I did manage to get some good shots. My camera stayed the driest, of course. (smile) ❤

    1. Way cool, isn’t it, Marissa!! I usually get out of bed around 7:30 but that morning it was a little before 7. And that is when I saw what I did and grabbed my camera. SO glad you stopped by and saw this!! Thank you! ❤

      1. I awake between 7 and 7:30, ususally closer to 7:30. I’m on schedule too, believe it or not and I am not able to sleep any later, unless I am extremely exhausted. I’m conditioned to go to bed early and rise early. That is my way of feeling my best. 🙂

    1. No it isn’t. That is the glow of the sun while it was pouring rain. The sun shining low in the sky while dark clouds opened up with rain, made everything look golden. It was surreal and I am so happy I actually was able to capture that with my camera. Cool!!! 🙂 ❤

      1. I just gave away one of my secrets when I do landscape photography. Most of what I shoot is shot on large aperture with low shutter speed, giving a soft effect. I am posting this week a landscape I shot on f/9 because of the huge distance I was shooting. I like surreal. LOL Don’t you? (grinning!) ❤

    1. Dan, I thought it very strange I did not see you yesterday in my notifications. Guess what? You were sent to spam! I freed you just now. Thank you for noticing what I pointed out regarding my shutter speed. Yes I have steady hands but I was not sure I could do it. I did. The rain is coming down so hard it is seen as slanted lines. It’s there. 🙂 ❤

    1. Haha ….. Giggling as I write this as I am picturing what you wrote, Erika. I suppose I could carry a small square of screen with me for special effects. Hmmmm …. Now you have me thinking. LOL ❤

    1. I am seriously head over heels in LOVE with this camera and lens, Kath! I just bought a hat umbrella through Amazon to help me in the rain, which I really enjoy shooting in. We did get some rain but it is right back to sunny and very very hot again! I’ve begun my fall gardening, cause I just don’t want to be caught with my pants down, so to speak. It’s so weird that I am doing what I am in seemingly summer weather. SO touched that you were moved with this post. (((HUGS))) ❤

      2. Aw, thank you, Kathy! That was a selfie taken when I was applying polyurethane to the wood accessories in our screen door project. I honestly don’t know how I was able to do that, but when I saw it I said COOL. *laughing* I sometimes get the biggest kick out of me. LOL

    1. YellowCable, the rain is coming down so hard it is seen as slanted lines. When you make the picture its actual size, you can see it. Hope this helps. Double clicking on the photo should bring it to full size. 🙂 ❤

  5. These are some outstanding photos. The second pic looks like theres a forest fire in the background. The first pic looks like it was taken from a plane, in the late afternoon.

    1. How deceptive light makes photographs, Vinny. I found your observations fascinating! The light from the sun was reflecting off the pouring rain and yes made things glow. And that first picture again was taken from my house to the house next door in early morning. Because of light I can create magic sometimes. And I love that when it happens!!! 🙂 ❤

  6. Love these shots, the magic you create with your lens and camera is truly special ~ what a glorious view you had, and it must have been something to just sit there and enjoy the light, the rain and mood. Beautiful work Amy ~ wishing you a great evening.

No, I don’t narrate everything in poetry (let alone when some wordplay is involved). But yes, sometimes I’m so good at not making myself clear that I even confuse me. 🙂
