    1. Thank you, CM!!!! Cookie is a sweetheart, and it never fails when I water my gardens she really is watching over me. She has become very attached to me since Karma’s death. When I saw her in the window with the reflection of the Roses I just had to capture what I saw. I’m glad you enjoyed this today!!! 🙂 ❤

      1. I would absolutely have grabbed that shot, too! Sometimes I see Cody peeking eagerly out the front window as I come home from work, and I’d love to capture that, but I never have my camera with me (and as you know, I don’t have a smart phone).

  1. Oh what a cutie Cookie is! Really great image too Amy! I can see quite a difference in your new Camera! I love the composition too with the brick, the angle of the shot and the roses reflecting in the window. Well done!!

    1. Coming from you this is high praise, Laura, and I really thank you!!! Yes this camera makes all the difference in the world! When I saw the reflections in the window as Cookie stared out, it was just so adorable I had to capture it. I wanted to make it look like a painting and IMO I did. This image just came naturally as my eye and hands just seemed to know what to do. Again, magic is happening as I have finally been able to stop thinking behind my camera! LOL Hope you are having a good weekend!!! ❤

    1. Cookie is a girl, YellowCable. Sometimes she sticks too close and does not give me breathing space. She’s been very needy and clingy since Karma died. She really needs a lot of assurance everything is OK. 🙂 ❤

    1. Yes, she is both beautiful and precious, Amy!!! She is exceptional for she is terrified of humans having been born wild, and for her to trust both me and hubby explicitly is quite the honor. She is one of the reasons why we rarely have people over to our house. She and a few others truly are terrified of strangers and there have been times these cats have gotten ill because strangers have come into their sanctuary. It was a very hard call to make regarding having a Vet come into our home to help us with Karma as he was dying. Thankfully things are settling down and we here are getting back to normal. Thank goodness!!! 🙂 ❤

    1. I hope so, for both her sake and mind. It gets to be a bit much especially those times I just need to rest and she is on my chest bugging me for attention. She is high strung as it is and was a wild cat who never stopped when she was outside. Right now she needs a lot of attention which I do my best to give her! Much Love, Ammy ❤

    1. The flowers are what caught my eye along with that precious face!! It looked like a painting so I deliberately took this pic with settings to make the photo look like a painting. SO glad you stopped by to see one of my beloved babies. ❤

  2. We had a Cookie cat that looked very similar. The older Tuxedo we had at the time, Oreo, used to love to watch me work. I never fell that he was looking over me as much as he was laughing at the fact that I had to work and he didn’t. Beautiful photo and a very pretty guardian.

    1. I can picture a cat laughing at us humans doing the work, um yep! LOL Cookie has become very tied to me since Karma’s death both as a means of “protecting” me and an assurance that everything is OK. I was really taken aback how hard she took his death because she did not seem that close to him. That ought to prove just how much I really know about these cats. Anyways, thank you for the compliment on my photo. For once I had my Canon close by so that I could capture this endearing scene. ❤

  3. Oh, she is so precious! I love the intensity of cats. For awhile, I thought it was due to their eyes but I believe they truly are an intense animal! A dog is playful and filled with unrestrained love but a cat is cool and so focused. You have captured that here brilliantly!

    1. Thank goodness I had my camera, Carol, because this precious moment would have been lost for me to capture. I am fascinated by my cats and have learned and still am learning so much from them. When I saw this precious precious moment my Heart literally was in my throat with Love just busting all over the place. Cookie had not been feeling well this day, which doesn’t show here, so for her to show me a side to her that did not reveal she was not feeling good, is the main reason why my Heart was in my throat. Can you tell I LOVE my babies? 🙂 ❤

    1. Cookie is special in so many ways and believe me, the honor is all mine that she trusts me. She is terrified of humans even to this day because she has maintained her wild instincts. That is one thing I do for my cats. I allow them to be themselves (to a point). I get the biggest kick in the evenings or early night when they are very active as I watch them interact. Most times I am resolved in helpless peals of laughter. One of these days I do have to video them, yet, when they see that camera, they stop. Stinkers! LOL 🙂 ❤

      1. She’s a beauty. I’m really camera shy so I can understand where they’re coming from.😊 Whenever I see a camera, I tend to freeze up. I’ve always loved the independant nature of cats. They accept one master only, and they’re extremely loyal to whomever has that honor. Cookie also seems very protective of you.😊

      2. Brenda, she is protective of me. Ever since Karma died she is displaying this tendency. I don’t know why but I don’t question. I just flow and allow. Many people don’t seem to understand the true nature of cats and are amazed by what they observe when they see our cats and us interact. Even Vets have commented at the bond, people who would think would understand. Um, right. ❤

    1. Cookie is gorgeous, Gigi. Her essence, her spirit is exceptional. I still cannot get over she trusts me because I know how terrified she is of humans. She is the Queen Mouser when she ruled our property until she decided to permanently reside in our home. Cats have a tough life outside especially during the Winter months. I suppose she had enough. 🙂 ❤

  4. Cookie is a beautiful and precious beauty Amy and she does respond at the healing, now better than earlier, she doesn’t seem so scared as in the beginning.
She is so beautiful and you captured a perfect moment. You are her rock and she needs to know, where you are and what you are doing.
I have a male, who is close to equal in the colors as Cookie and he is also very precious.
Much love to all of you ❤ Irene

    1. For Cookie to trust me the way she does, Irene, still to this days boggles my mind. If you had seen her when I did, years outside, the Queen ruling her territory. She was in her glory. And when she made the decision to permanently stay indoors, it was both a sad day and a happy one for me. I so enjoyed watching her rule outdoors, yet she lived such a hard life. Now I can coddle her and nurture and spoil her. And know she is safe by being indoors. Thank you, Irene, for all you do!!! ❤ ❤ ❤

      1. I think, it is always difficult for an outdoor cat to become an indoor cat. Years ago I tried without good result.
I’m sure, that she knows, that she is in the best hands now and she gets all, as she might need any day 🙂
She seems to be happy for her life.
        Love ❤ Irene

      2. All of mine now except for Bella were born wild. That’s a lot to be in control over. They’ve all adapted and none want to go out anymore. Karma used to love to go outside and I think that is one of the reasons why he began to go downhill. He honestly became depressed in my opinion. And then disease set in. At least that is how I see it. When Rusty almost lost his leg from severe cellulitis after stepping on a rusty piece of metal, I said no more. That’s it. I had trained these guys to go out and they maintained the borders I told them they had to obey. That all came to end with Rusty. Man, we have been through so much ….. Wow! ❤

      3. Good that they had the chance to come outside Amy. Sometimes they choose it different.
Short time ago, Hvide visited a neighbor garden in the evening, while I was outside too, then he met another cat in fighting mood and Hvide did fight back, but he is 13 years and neutered and not used to fight any longer, so he came home with damages, as I cleaned immediately. After that experience he has stayed in our garden, even he is the one with most need for aventure. He stays very close in the evening and Odin keeps a very open eyes to avoid strangers (other cats) in our garden. Not that he will hurt them, but more to avoid them to arrive here. Odin doesn’t understand, that not all cats wish his friendship, at least not outside our own area 🙂

      4. So you have had your shares of scares. I’ve been to our Vet with Tee, the outdoor barn cat next door several times as well as Rusty when he was so sick. I know how dangerous those fights can be, infection the main culprit that can kill. Some of my boys who are so big and strong know how to fight and it is a constant discipline in this house teaching them not to fight, because they have the potential to really hurt each other. Cats will get into fighting matches but I know how to gauge them when they get too rough and pull those cats apart. Scratched noses are one thing. Bites are a totally different story. Good thing your babies have you as their Human, Irene. 🙂 ❤

      5. Thank you Amy and yes, I have had outdoor cats for many years and have also had many visits to the vet, when they were hurt from fights.
If my 2 brothers are going to fight here now, I clap my hands and they stop. They hate that sound 🙂
I think, that our cats are happy to have us, Amy.
        Much love ❤ Irene

      6. I am going to have to try clapping my hands to see if that startles my cats. Usually my voice and me rapidly moving toward the two who are fighting will stop the fighting. Usually. Thank goodness the norm here is Love … but not always. Cats will be cats. 🙂

      1. That explains your confusion. I am a photographer. All of the art you see on my blog is mine. I can understand your confusion, honestly. I am so happy you thought my Cookie is gorgeous which she is. Not many people look at my main menu so it touched me that you did so. Thank you! ❤

      2. Thank you! You are in for a treat because I literally walked into the Golden Light today on my photo shoot. I caught magic!! Those pics should be up hopefully starting this weekend or the beginning of next week. Bless you for viewing my work that means so much to me!! ❤
