I’m keeping comments open if you would like to comment. I have yet to answer some comments from my previous post from yesterday. I am also on a project with hubby as we together install a custom made screen door. I’m in the staining and varnishing stage for all the accessory pieces of wood minus the door, which I will be finished with today.
It may take me all weekend to get back to you, yet I will!!!
Beginning tomorrow, we begin assembling the door jambs and casing (which I have stained and varnished), then we move on to the screen door itself which I must stain and varnish after hubby removes existing screen to put in a sturdier one. We don’t want any of our fur kids to go flying through a screen so we are taking precautions.
Let me see. I have my photography and the huge learning curve I am in, my blog, the care and nurture of our fur kids, the continuing work on me to keep this body/mind healthy and strong, the upkeep of home and gardens, time for friends and family, must relaxation time, and let’s not forget that long (oh heavens you have no idea!) relationship called marriage I am connected to. Now we have begun the repair and building work on our home. Oh, Life is truly something, isn’t it? LOL
PS My JOY is complete. I finally am having my Love affair with my camera. I figured out the “golden ratio” to get the macro results I want. GRIN!
❤ ❤ ❤
So beautiful . I don’t know where you get the energy but I wish you could bottle it!:)<3

I just had to answer you, right now, Holly. I’ll get over to see you when I can. Anyways … It’s mind over matter. I just do. The day begins and I feel weary most times. I shift gears and start saying to myself positive things to bring my frame of mind around to … I CAN do this! I get into Flow and attempt to do everything I have planned for the day. Most days I can. Some I do not and on those days I rest. In looking back sometimes I am amazed how much I do. It just goes to show you when you make up your mind to do something and then put action to that mentality, you can really do it! 🙂 ❤

I know how fulfilling they are, Dr. Hb. My husband and I built our home. Of course we are going back 26 years, but still that is quite the accomplishment!!! 🙂 ❤

I’m done!! YAY!!! Now I have to wait on hubby to do what he must before I begin staining and varnishing the screen door itself! I hope this project is completed in about 2 weeks. I hope …. 🙂 ❤

So glad to see you happier today! Good luck with that door and beautiful picture as always Amy! Do you still have flowers out there to photograph? I imagine it must be starting to get colder.

Yes I still have flowers here, Marissa. It is still very hot but I must admit the flowers are going down. I’m trying to get all that I can while they are still here. 🙂 ❤

Lovely macro Amy. You’re working that camera for sure! We just got a new screen door too but nothing fancy. I’ll look forward to pictures of it!! 🙂

Oh sure! Gee, let me get this straight. Not only am I doing grunt work and helping to install this door AND using my brain to figure out the math in this project, but now you want me to take pictures. Hmmmmm ….. Have I got that right, Ms. Laura? Tee hee …. I do have some pics already taken with my cellphone so we’ll see. I may post when we are finished what it took to put this door in.
And thank you about my macro. I finally have the hang of this camera, or at least beginning to!!! 🙂 ❤

Thank you, Irene. I’m really beginning to relax and enjoy myself behind my camera when I am doing macro. Oh what JOY it is not to have to think!! LOL And thank you about the good luck! I posted some pics on FB regarding this project. I think you saw one, if I am not mistaken. Forgive me for not remembering … the varnish fumes really went to my head, no joke!! Much Love to you! ❤

Love the Macro and you sure are getting the feel of the new camera! Happy to hear that you doing so well and does sound like a busy day. I have a yearly Eye Dr appt this afternoon. Wishing you a good day my friend and that all goes well with the door. Hugs ❤

Oh, Kathy, not to think when I a doing macro is such JOY! Good luck at the eye appt. this afternoon!! I’m finished with the varnishing (for now) and am on here, doing laundry and watering my gardens. LOL I multi-task all the time!!! 🙂 ❤

I can feel your joy!!! Things went well at the eye exam but haven’t a little trouble seeing after the dilation. I multi-task too 🙂 Twins ❤

I know all about that dilation. 🙂 I think women tend to multitask much more so then men, who only seem to be able to do one thing at a time. I’m pushing hubby out of that comfort zone teaching him how to stop, do something else, and then go back to what he was doing. In order to survive in this household, that is a must. LOL 🙂

I think so too but Craig is pretty good at multi-tasking if need be. Feeling better after all the dilation is gone but it is necessary due to the start of cataracts and the glaucoma pressure. Still doing good though 🙂 <

Wonderful, Kathy! I’m still experiencing waves of weariness but IF I push through them (tricky to know the difference of when to push and when to rest) I find myself having a really good day! I plan on going hiking today with my Canon. It’s somewhat cloudy so I am hoping that when I do get to the park the clouds will stay. Summer is not going to be here for much longer so I am really trying to enjoy this for as long as we have the warmth. We both know what is coming …. ❤

Yes, know the feeling well of pushing through the weariness. It’s really cooler her this morning. Only 61 now. Enjoy your walk and my dear friend!

I changed my mind. It is too hot outside with humidity unbearable! I’m just going to stay in and do this and that in the house. Catch up on some things. No way am I carrying my camera in this heat. Uh-uh!

Sounds like a plan. Even here we have had a pretty warm summer. Lately it’s been cooling off some <

Cooling, then getting very warm again, and by Thursday heard we will be lucky if the high hits 70. Oh boy! Time for me to start thinking of closing down my gardens and doing the pruning/cutting back, etc. Here we go …..

Glad that your starting to get some relief. We have some yard work to do, also. There is a fire pit here and we had a bonfire last year and will do that again. It was fun. Have fun ❤

The weather here is still inconsistent. It dips then it goes right back up. Both hubby and I heard a Robin yesterday which had us both shaking our heads in disbelief. I believe most of the migratory birds are now gone, at least the hummingbird feeder is staying mostly untouched. Today is overcast and even though I still have to put two more coats of varnish on the screen door, I really want to run with my camera to a nearby park. It’s been too long since a day like today has happened. Wish me luck!!! And lucky your about the bonfire. We don’t have a place to build to pit. Oh wait we do … Now I will talk to hubby about it. 🙂 ❤

Really surprised about the robin still hanging around. Haven’t seen one here in quite awhile. I think most of ours are gone, also. Wishing you luck that you can get out to take some pics. Bet that door is looking really good, though. Yes, apparently they built a fire-pit with the house. Think I posted pics of it last fall. Love it and hope you can get one.

Speaking of Robins, Kath, yesterday when I went for a hike in Reinstein Woods, I saw an entire patch of Robins that are always in this park. I stopped with mouth open. You have got to be kidding!!! I have never seen Robins this late in the year here. And IF we get the time to build a fire pit we will be very lucky. See my other reply to you. LOL

Beautiful macro, Amy. Good luck with your home project. I’m busy helping hubby lay a mountain of wood flooring here. I’m the sweeper and clearer-upper. 😀
LikeLiked by 1 person
Sylvia, I’ve helped lay wooden floors and that is hard work. We worked with a power nailer and my job was to select the individual pieces for the pattern. Watch your back because that is a lot of bending. And thank you about my image. My love affair with my new camera has begun. I figured out all the basic settings in order for me to get the effects I want. The JOY is back!!! ❤

Sorry, my iPhone posted my reply before I’d finished. So happy that you’re enjoying your new camera, Amy. I only know the basic settings on mine, and I’ve had it for two years. I’m not good at reading manuals. 🙂 Luckily, hubby has a strong back, and there’s no nailing to do, as it’s all tongue and groove. I just help with the cleaning up and the cups of tea and coffee. 🙂 xx

Although it sounds like a lot of work I always liked to work on the house, painting, rooms, assembling new furniture, planting, creating in the garden…. Hey, enjoy this, we are still here, Amy!

I do enjoy doing this, Erika. Once I get accustomed to the pace of things, my body says HEY I remember this! LOL There is such satisfaction of doing a project and then seeing your results. We built our home, dear friend. We were the General Contractors and we did most of the interior work. I did all the staining and varnishing on every inch of wood in this house. Today I would not be able to do something to that extent, belive me. But this? I cannot wait to see this door up. We have done a lot of custom work already and it continues ….. Smiling ….. 🙂

Oh God, you really know what you are talking about! That’s amazing and for sure it is a different feeling to live in a house that is really created by you yourself. All your energy within the walls. Yes, smiling 😃

I wonder from time to time what the people who buy this house will feel. I am not even able to imagine leaving this house, yet this too, shall come to pass some day. There is so much of us in this house, not only my husband and I, but our fur kids. You can feel the “Love energy” now the moment you are on our property. Will it stay when we leave? I don’t know. Will the next inhabitants care for my gardens as I do, will they feed the birds like I do, will they love this house like I do? I don’t know. But what I do know is I am putting it out to the Universe that the perfect couple will purchase this house who will continue our legacy. ❤

My Heart is open in all that I do, Mark, right now in this moment and going forward. I was taught something by my sister which really spoke to me. When we use “will” it is saying to the Universe some day, very vague, and some day is always some day. Therefore it is not reality. Now, I am very aware that I speak in the present tense or at least I intend to. I also thank you for your lovely comment about my art. My ongoing Love affair is continuing ….. 🙂 ❤

Good luck with your project. If you can spell “door jamb” correctly, and not stray into the areas of raspberry and strawberry jam, you deserve total success!

LOL I am familiar with some carpentry terms as both hubby and I built our own house. We were the General Contractors and yes I learned how to spell jamb. Hehehehehe 🙂 ❤
