    1. Oh, Ashley, you do give me Hope. I was actually questioning if I should stop posting the messages because most focus on the photography. Thank YOU for the encouragement!!! May your weekend be Blessed! ❤

      1. To be the forefront is such a challenging walk. I sometimes ask how did I exactly choose this? LOL Yet there is a huge aspect of me that would have it no other way. (smile) ❤

      1. I’m about ready to pass out here. LOL Headed for bed after a very busy day (again). I am getting my gardens opened and this year just very challenging with some of my “kids” being ill and needing lots of care. Whew!! Get a good night’s rest and I’ll be over to see you at your place in the morning. Good night, Marissa! ❤

  1. Looks like you are getting the hang of your new MacBook Pro, Amy. The tulip is really very crisp, like its jumping our of my laptop screen 😀 Love this poem about Destiny. What’s meant to be, is meant to be. The stars align, and nothing can stop the magic all around us. It makes sense to go along with the flow and do what makes us happy. When we do that, we share love around and make a beautiful place. This is why I love coming here to Petals, because that is you 🙂

    1. So many people, Mabel, are afraid to embrace their Destiny and so live a stale and empty life. To live Destiny is to LIVE fully, being who exactly you are! I read your in-depth comment and again am amazed by your wisdom you have for one so young. Bless you for taking the time to write what you did. Thank you! It meant a great deal to me! ❤

      1. I have to thank you for your photography and your words for inspiring me to think, Amy. I suppose that is how we learn from each other as artists. Agree with you Destiny is being who we are, and also not making excuses for who we are but being proud of us. Lots of love to you as usual ❤

    1. You are welcome, Dan! I know not when the next post will be coming. My drafts are empty. When it appears, it does. I’ve gotten number 4 garden finished out of 16. Now granted some are larger then others and the small ones are a whiz. I will be out in them again today and as I go along I see things I wish to photograph and I do. I hope you have a really good Sunday!! ❤

And What a great photo. You made me need to look up info on the mac book pro editing as your photo looks SO Good!

    1. Debi, I can honestly say there is NO comparison to any other computer when it comes to editing then the MacBook Pro. I bought the 15″ Retina Screen, base model. IF you are serious about the Mac you MUST get the Retiina Screen. The resolution is blowing me away. Of course having a good photo to begin with helps. (smile) The crispness, the clarity, and OH for the JOY I can SEE! I had a laptop that I could not see clearly and ended up using my iPad apps for final assessment. Now? I use PS and barely need LR. I am thrilled! This is THE professional photographer’s choice of computers. When I go to save a photo, it gets a bit more complicated then my Windows version of PS and LR, but I am slowly getting hang of it. This “investment” will last me many years!!!
And I do thank you for your wonderful compliment on my post. Bless you, dear friend! Bless you! ❤

      1. thank you Amy, this is really useful to me.. a tech NEWBIE!
i have an older 6yr mac desktop + ps elements 11, +and (LR that I can’t figure yet) But I am serious about having more Professional looking images!! so, will look at the Retina screen. and anything else you suggest 🙂

      2. If you are serious about your photographs, invest in the Adobe Creative Cloud which will give you the latest PS and LR. It is very overwhelming at first because if you are like me, you want to do things by rote. (smile) IF you are familiar with PS Elements 11 you will have NO problem with the latest PS. That is what I was using and then I took the leap to start using Creative Cloud PS.. I never looked back. The only accessory I suggest buying is a case to keep your laptop in when not using it. I bought one for $39.95 and I am not sorry. And, getting back to the Mac, I am SO impressed with the quality. This is a machine and then some!!! If you have an Apple Store by you, go and see a MacBook Pro 15″ with Retina Screen. You will fall in Love. *giggle* ❤

      3. falling in love with retina screen sounds lovely Amy! lol with that PS Creative Cloud thing, is that the one you pay yearly subscription? i have to see, about retina for my desktop. as i dont use laptop for my photos/wp. and, you are right.
it is so easy to get Over Whelmed.

      4. I think it is paid monthly, Debi. I’m pretty sure it is $9.99 a month and the money is charged directly to my charge card. Remember to breathe. ❤ ❤ ❤ (I have to remind myself of the same thing!)

      5. Darn it, Debi, I forgot something that you have to do in LR. When you select the folder which holds your pictures after hitting import, ALL those photos will appear in the LR showroom. You will see a check mark in the upper L hand corner of each of them. Below the photos you will see the words “uncheck all”. Hit this or else ALL those photos will come into the editing room. Then check one by one all the photos you want in the editing room and hit IMPORT. Then the LR editing room will appear. IF only one photo appears in the showcase you can double click it like I said and then select develop. Sorry if I am confusing you. I am really tired right now from gardening today. I hope I did not confuse you or overwhelm you more. If I were you I’d right down all the steps I’ve mentioned so that you get in the editing room. I know it sounds like a lot, but once you are used to it, it is a breeze. ❤

      6. thanks again, and i just wrote it down. in my folder diary…. so i will have it
and I do know that the more I do a set series of steps, it becomes like a Fast highway vs a steep twisted goat track!

      7. A few more things I thought of. In Creative Cloud PS CC they have what is called a Raw Camera Edit Filter under Filter on the top tool bar. Use this to edit ALL photographs even if they are not Raw format. Just start playing to understand it. It is awesome! I do my cropping first in the regular editing room. I also use Bridge in Creative Cloud where I store all my photographs, and download directly from my camera. Go slow so you figure out how to do files and such. I have 2 manuals that I still refer to … The Adobe PS CC Book for Digital photographers (2014 release) by Scott Kelby and PS for Lightroom User by Scott Kelby. Everything now is online where you get assistance but I still like books sometimes. And don’t delete your PS Elements until you are absoutely sure you are OK with PS CC. I think that’s it for now. LOL

      8. ok… i dont have the creative cloud, but i do have some filter thing for RAW. so i ‘could’ use it for jpegs!? wow. Amy… I just got so disheartened with LR – I gave up in tears months ago, felt hopeless!! you, may have just nudged me to try. again. just a little bit. and boy, I really, can’t tell you how much your HELP means to me. hugs.

      9. Think fun, Debi. Just start fooling around in LR. How you start is hit file, hit import, then select a photo from the selections you will see. That will then appear in your LR window. Double click that picture which will enlarge then select DEVELOP on your top toolbar, and voila, your editing room appears. Start playing around. The arrows open and close sections on your editing sections so be aware of that. When you are done you hit file, then export, and then save your photo as a JPEG. You will notice your picture does not disappear. Right click on pic and choose to remove photo. A box will appear saying delete from disk DO NOT HIT THIS, and remove. Hit remove. Try it, Debi. I couldn’t for the life of me figure out how to even get a photo in the darn editing room until I read my manual. 🙂
Last thing. IF you buy a new Mac, get the Apple Care Support. This gives you a total of 3 years warranty AND you can call them with any question. It’s pricey but I got it. A friend of mine said she got it, and just before the 3 years was up, her computer froze. The total to get it fixed came to over $800 but she was charged nothing.
I KNOW the struggles I have had editing and learning photography in general. Email me, Debi, any time. I am really busy right now but I promise to get back to you as soon as I can. I really enjoy helping others … I KNOW what it feels like to need help. 🙂

    1. Aw, Brenda, thank you SO much. Bless you for your support and your encouragement. Both mean more to me then I can possibly put into words. My weekend has been very involved with my gardens, and in fact, right after I eat, I intend to get outside to continue. I hope to get garden number 5, 6, 7 done today. I hope! I have 18 gardens total. I keep miscounting and took the time to really count concisely. I just have so many beds! 🙂 ❤

    1. You are the first person to mention my new selfie. Thank you, Monica. I was a bit hesitant to post this picture due to the star around my neck and the association many have with stars … witchcraft. That is so far from the case with me for that star symbolizes something extremely important to me personally. I went ahead and posted it with the attitude others will think what they will.
As for my Mac editing, isn’t it awesome??? I am SO excited!!! LOL ❤

      1. Your new selfie is awesome, Amy 🙂
Regarding your necklace, I often wear a bullet from my father. Soo… Am I a soldier? Let people talk, Amy, but don’t let them hurt you!
Back to editing, it’s awesome that you did a beautiful work in a so short time

      2. People will talk regardless, Monica. Anyone who really knows me understands I have a great reverence and awe of Mother, yes, but don’t put a label on me. I abhor labels! I’ve learned long ago that even if I went along according to all the rules, people would still talk. It was silly of me to even hesitate to post this picture of me. I like it. And that is what counts the most to me.
As for editing, I hit a snag a BIG one and was on the phone for over 3 hours with both Adobe and Apple. By the time I called for the 4th time my blood pressure was near the ceiling. It turns out that I was being passed back and forth like a tennis ball, and that I was actually lied to and not only that told things totally inappropriate. When I finally got a man who knew what he was doing and who was willing to help me, I nearly cried in relief. Bottom line, the program I use to import my photographs from my camera is not allowing me to do so. The photograph here I imported from a memory stick which that program did pick up. Long story short, I have to do several extra steps in order to get my photographs in the program I want them to go in. Adobe has program that requires a fix and that fix has not been addressed for a year. MANY people are having trouble. Not just me. 🙂 >3

      3. I abhor labels, too, Amy. But I learnt from my father that people will always talk. So… I let them talk and I do what is best for me. I also hate the rules. I want to live by the rules, but when a rule is absurd I make one only for me. 🙂
Regarding your Mac, I am so sorry that you had troubles with it… I am glad you finally find someone who knows what is all about.
Big hug for you, Amy ❤

      4. You are such a sweetheart. All my Life have I fought against the labels and the rules. No! I AM ME! As for my Mac, I’m figuring out how to be as simple as possible to get my photos imported. A friend of mine offered to help me to learn how to get them into LR, but I declined. I just am not able to handle one more thing right now. Big (((HUGS))) to you and I hope you have a really good day! I am going to be out in my gardens for most of the day! 🙂

  4. I just love images of new beginnings in nature. Totally agree that one needs to let go and surrender to destiny and wait for the blossoming. Sometimes one tries to control too much and it can lead one on the wrong path. Lovely post, Amy. Yes, I did notice your new look. Ha ha!

    1. Thank you, Olga, for your in-depth and heartfelt comment!! As for my new look, LOL!! I had just gotten my hair done and I did not want the sun to ruin the gorgeous color. That day was one of our rare days we have had so far that it was very warm. What JOY to walk in sunshine AND warmth!!! ❤

    1. Yes it is, Scott, even though I had a day yesterday where my blood pressure was of the ceiling dealing with representatives from both Apple and Adobe who thought it was fun to toss me back and forth like a tennis ball, no one willing to help me until my 4th try. Ah, technology is a glorious thing but when you run into a snag, OMG! ❤

  5. It IS amazing! I’m not even kidding, sometimes I see your photographs of things, and I go out into my yard and try to come near duplication… Now, I know I don’t have your talent and your gadgets, but I think it’s good I try. I learn a lot from your photos, Amy. My thanks to you, you make me see the world differently.

    1. Oh, Joey, you have NO idea how you have made my day! You are the second person that has said about the same thing and to know that my passion for Mother is beginning to be “caught” just thrills me! We all can learn from one another and it humbles me and pleases me that you are learning from me. Thank you for telling me. You have got my Heart singing! Find the magic, my friend. Crawl around on the ground, get your nose in good and close, see, smell, feel, and you will have entered a whole other world. Oh for the JOY you have brought to me this day! ❤
