    1. PS I am also in the process of teaching my hair dresser to go lighter on my hair (sigh … it’s been a slow go …. I tell her cinnamon LIGHT brown and I get what you see LOL) and I am growing my hair to at least shoulder length. Oh, yes, the time has come to show how strong a woman I am through my hair. 🙂

      1. Kindred spirits & spirit sisters! My color is “copper blonde”…maybe that will resonate better with your hair dresser. LOL This is my favorite hair color ever….I imagine my spirit self like the girl from Brave! 😉

      2. I honestly can see me in that color. Copper blond …. Like a penny just a bit lighter. Huh. I know she is visual so I will have to bring with me items to show her what color I am talking about. LOL Just saying it isn’t doing it. So ….. the fun begins ….. 🙂

    1. How many of us take the time to stop and think of all the ways we are courageous in our daily lives? I was stunned by all the definitions that came pouring in. And in so doing, I realized just how strong I really have become. Love, Amy ❤

  1. This is Exceptionally Exceptional Amy! I agree wholeheartedly and LOVE that you shared your additional thoughts. So often I write something and then, after I post, the Spirit continues to whisper, like with you. Thank You for sharing each and every one of your definitions! 🙂

    1. Aw, thank you, Morgirl. For days I thought about what courage meant to me. As a result, I am in awe of myself of how strong I have become. Bless you for being a part of my Life! Have a truly Miraculous Day! Love, Amy ❤

  2. Thank you so much for sharing your truth with us! They all resonate with me but I expected they would. Courage is also puting your truth on a blog without really knowing your audience fully! We do that a lot! ❤ 🙂

    1. Yes, Carol, I did think of that as well. When I first began Petals I actually hid under my covers in bed so afraid I was in showing myself. I’ve come a long way since those days. When I post something personal as I did today, I still hesitate to push the publish button. I really do show myself here. I’m not surprised my “list” resonated with you! I’ll be over later …. Cats are my morning. 🙂 I was over last evening and was stunned by how much you post. I miss so much, my friend. You have so much talent! ❤

  3. A very uplifting message today and it’s good to hear your courage has gotten you through difficult times. I love the photos. I love to see what happens when you take these classics and get experimental with them.

      1. I have a poem about courage at House :).
I am not feeling really courageous now but we are stronger than we know and endure whatever comes our way.

  4. Wow! Yes, you’re totally right, Amy 🙂
Courage has not only one definition. Courage means to go outside your comfort zone like you already said. To open the door of your soul to a stranger. To have patience in a Speedy Gonzales World.
Nice post, beautiful photos, dear Amy ❤

  5. I love the poem about courage and your amazing list. Courage to me is making that one decision to believe in your own voice, follow its sound faithfully and find out through the results that no courage is needed anymore.
Oh, and the photos again….. a dream!

    1. Courage is very known to you, my friend, who venture with your husband every day on that boat. Having your own business in this very competitive world is something I couldn’t even begin to imagine nor what you two must face some days. I’m proud to be called your friend. 🙂 ❤

      1. Oh Amy, your comment touched me so much. Teary-eyed here but in a good way. With everything you have gone through takes a huge amount of courage. We are lucky that we started our little business 10 yrs ago when the economy was better. Sales are slow but thank goodness that our monthly income isn’t dependent on our sales. So we can always pay our rent, utilities, etc…. So proud to call you a friend, also. Love you ❤

    1. Dan, you nailed the number one reason why most people are so uncomfortable around me and why animals love me. Yes, I am a keen observer, and with that comes a Blessing along with a curse. I see beyond the ploys, the masks, the games. I see. This is also why hubby gets so angry with me as I say what I see when he tries to escape into illusion. God has given me this Gift, my friend, which I use many times here on WP, and why I live a very quiet Life. I can no longer tolerate the bombardment of today’s world. How “keen” of you to see this in me. I am humbled. ❤

    1. Have you stopped to think how courageous you are, Julie? I bet you haven’t. I was blown away by how long my “list” became. It felt SO good to write those qualities about me not only my paper but here on my blog. I so encourage you to take time to see how you are courageous!! ❤

  7. Wow my fingers got tired scrolling to the bottom of this with all the comments! 🙂 What a beautiful post and I love your distortion! In the images I mean lol. All those definitions of courage were so great Amy. I don’t know if I could’ve thought of all those even given a week! My favorite is this one: Courage is having the ability and the strength to look inward to heal my wounds that have been carried for a long time that need to be let go of. That is So true for me. Big Hugs and thanks for such a wonderful post. ❤

    1. Thank you, Laura, and sorry about your sore hand. LOL Whenever I write posts like this one, a lot of people usually comment. I’m not sure if I have a favorite saying, yet the one you chose is very dear to me. That one is particularly difficult to shine light on those festering wounds. But to do so only ensures our freedom from darkness that wasn’t even ours to begin with! BIG (((HUGS))) back, dear friend and you are so welcome! Thank YOU for taking the time in reading this and commenting. I know you get overwhelmed by all the social media so it really means a lot to me when I see you here!!! ❤

      1. Thanks Amy. 🙂 I got out of one of the groups that was taking a lot of my time. I still have a lot but I’m realizing there’s more to life than social media! Today I had fun going to the garden center to get some flowers, and I purchased a fountain for the birds which will be delivered tomorrow. I also made a fruit salad and cleaned the floors. Life is good!

      2. I’m only doing WP, Laura, and keeping a minimal on FB, those who mean a lot to me. No more IG or anthing else. It’s not worth it. I have my gardens to open up soon and that with all the care I am giving to my cats will take up a lot of my time. Yes, there is life outside of the computer. 🙂

      3. Good for you! I do IG a little bit but not every day like I was. I’m off to my neighbors to take care of their kitties! I’ve been watching them all week since my neighbors are on vacation. I go twice a day to get my cat fix. 😀

      4. LOL I approve! Of course!!! I’m hand feeding 2 cats now who have stopped eating due to age issues. I will NOT watch the starve. NOT on my watch! On our third of 4 meals per day. Sometimes I don’t know if I am coming or going ….. Gotta LOVE what you do!!! ❤

      5. So true!! I’ve had kitties all my life and love them. :). Hobbes passed away a couple years ago. He made it to 18. Next we are getting a Havanese puppy around November. We are excited to have a little furry spirit in the house again!

      6. No kitties? Aw, what a shame! My eldest cat is 16 with health issues and the next is 15, again with issues. The time I am spending hand feeding them is precious. I pray that the both go quietly in their sleep so I don’t have to make that awful decision. I really think that after these babies of ours are gone, that will be it for me. I really want time to write my books and to get really serious with my photography. I have dreams of traveling too, my friend. For years I have given to others and put my dreams on a shelf. Lots of good things in store because I’ll have huge holes in my heart that need filling. Truthfully this is one of the hardest things to do …. Care for special needs cats. They are a huge part of my life and my LOVE for them goes so deep I get lost sometimes. I have a photo coming in a near post of Karma and Sassy that will make your HEART melt 🙂

      7. Well I needed a break from kitties. The cat box really made me congested and for the first time in my life I don’t feel that way. Havanese are like cats in that they always want to be with you. They are love bugs! Hobbes had issues the last several years of his life. I had to give him fluids every day. You’re right. I hope your babies go peacefully in their sleep because I had to make the decision although he really couldn’t be here anymore. To keep him here would’ve been cruel at that point. But still…I bawled for a year! I still have his pic on my nightstand. So after your kitties, go travel and do the things that make you happy so you can be all you can be! Go Amy!!!!

      8. It’s going to be a while yet, Laura. I have 13 …. Remember? Yet in the meantime I LOVE them, care for them, and dream my dreams AND learn more about my Gfits so that I can go ever deeper and wider with them!! I have Molly’s ashes and picture on my nightstand as well as Tigger’s and Benji’s. When all are gone, I will release all their ashes together. *getting tears in my eyes* Princess and Alpha are buried on our land. We won’t be doing that again. It is hard work digging a hole at least 4 feet deep. Yes, Laura, it is heart breaking when our babies leave. (((HUGS))) ❤

I always talk about courage and the importance of having it but not always showing it. loved this list of ideas.

    1. Yes, courage IS getting out of bed, I do agree! I’m humbled that you read my list and have gotten ideas from it. May you in turn take some time today in order to see just how courageous you are in your own Life, and also see aspects of your Life where courage could be beneficial. Bless you! ❤

      1. Hema, I tried to follow you. My preference for WP is the reader and hence, any email follows do not go through. I really admire what you are doing on your blog so I will try to figure out a way to keep in touch. The best way is for you to comment here. I have my own policy due to how many people come to Petals, that those who do comment I do go to see their blog. I am just one person and sometimes the numbers are overwhelming. 🙂 ❤

you can follow me by clicking on the follow button at the top right of my blog. 🙂 Even if you don’t I ll come find you again sometime 🙂

Have a happy Easter weekend. 🙂 God bless

    1. Thank you ever so kindly!! Yes I agree this post is powerful. These words I “heard” as I was editing this photograph, not being the original words I was intending to put with this Daffodil. I wasn’t even sure of the meaning of the word “Sheol” or how to spell it. I had to check. Yes, in every way, this post is extraordinary! Thank you for seeing this!! ❤

      1. Well, I’m really glad that you added these words because the way you’ve described courage is just spot on. It felt wonderful reading those lines and I absolutely loved the pictures of the daffodil! Gorgeous! 🙂

      2. Oops, sorry. LOL Because I am commenting A LOT I thought I was on “Resurrection” not “Courage”. No these are my words strictly from my own life experience. I know it can get a bit confusing with me because I write from my life experience and then there are the times I “hear” words. I “heard” words for Resurrection. There. Is the confusion cleared up? Tee hee ….. ❤
