As I stood on Mother Hill
legs a’burning
lungs a’heaving
heart a’pounding
with a silly grin upon my face,
looking upon what was yet to come
and just wanting to shout,
YES!!! I AM doing this! ,
a wee small voice did nudge
and say,
“Look behind you, Ame.”
And so I did
and that is when I heard …
“Don’t forget to look behind you
to know how far you have already come!”

I find it challenging to convey through photography depth, height, distance, and dimension. The massive hills in this park I walk in are unending, wild and free, which is probably why I am absolutely in Love with it! I hope these two photos convey to you how steep this hill is (and yes this hill is really known as Mother Hill) and how massive this Place of Wonder truly is. I am keeping comments open, yet because this is my second post today, I’m not sure if I will be able to answer your comments. OK? Just please enjoy these incredible representations of Mother’s Creations. (smile)
Yes!!! ❤
That’s exactly what God said to me. Then he said, “Do you really want to quit?”

I came very close to quitting, Lisa. It was a Lesson for me to recognize a very tough dry phase and not just a dead end. Know how far YOU have come, my friend, and don’t ever let the enemy get you to quit. Shine on!!! ❤ ❤ ❤

These are just fantastic. Whether they are able to convey the majesty of what you saw and felt is something we can never quite know but it seems pretty well expressed to me!

I really hope you got the idea how massive these hills are, Marissa. The trees in of themselves are massive as well. It is just a park that I will never ever quite be able to wrap my head around. And on top of that, I’m getting 5 maps total of 5 local parks and these maps are quite detailed with all trails marked clearly. So, I should be having a fantastic adventure one after the other this year. I cannot wait!!!

Oh wow, that’s crazy! Can’t wait to see how those trips are documented!!

Beautiful images Amy. And hard to walk through the old snow too. Such an inspiring place to feel nature at it’s best

Thank you, Raewyn. I did my best to find ashphalt so I would not have to walk in that snow, which is not easy to do. I’m glad you came to visit me today. 🙂 ❤

So sad for those who do not. I’ve been accused of being a dreamer and in school my teachers called me day dreamer. But one cannot really know something without learning who they are.

LOL I got punished when I was in school for day dreaming. I thought some subjects were just SOOOOO boring and I used to stare at the brick on the building outside the window, seeing all kinds of patterns and faces in the bricks themselves. LOL If only those teachers knew what I was seeing!! Tee hee …..

I love that it is called Mother Hill – nothing like a peaceful walk in the woods to connect with the Inner Self. ❤

I’m laughing out loud, Eliza. The “Meaning” of the word Mother went right over your head. It is so named because is so HARD and so steep. The grimaces of pain I have seen on runners’ faces …. Imagine another word after Mother. NOW you have the idea! 🙂 This is not an easy peaceful stroll up rolling hills. This is a mountain! LOL

Ha-ha, oops! 😀

I am SO relieved you laughed, Eliza!! The pain this “hill” represents …. 🙂 I LOVE this hill, and have yet to claim the Mother thing. But, I have seen it on the faces twisted in agony. 🙂 Whew!! Thank goodness you are OK with what I said. 😉

Awesome pics. You reminded me of old military days right after VN. We got paid twice a month. An old buddy remarked that we were the only service that “celebrated” Mother’s Day 13 times a year…………… We’d get paid and start paying all the “Mothers….” on and off base……………..
There is a difference between hills and mountains, indeed. that’s why I live near hilllllllllllllllllllllllllllls. My roundabout doesn’t do Mountains. Heck I can’t get it to do stairs yettttttttttttttttttttttt. Happy Monday or if I had to climb Mother’s Hill, it’d be MOANDAYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY.

LOL@ your story, George. You always seem to have one. As for your roundabout, I’m not sure if yours would make Mother Hill. Does it have first gear? GRIN! ❤
LikeLiked by 1 person
My roundabout has been modified with a 5hp Briggs and Stratton riding lawnmower engine…. and I have 2 very willing little drivers of a mini jeep 1/5th scale with a trailer hitch if I run into trouble………………. Heck, BB could probably pull me up the hill with a rope harness and those short but stout legs of hers. 👀 ♥ * ͜ * ♥ 👀

I don’t want to burst your dreams, LOL, but I don’t think that Briggs and Stratton engine could make this “hill” even IF BB were pulling. Gee, you do like to have your women in harnesses. Hmmmmm ….. I see those flames! 😉

Women in Harnesses, now that you mention it, hmmmmm. But you know that’s for my own good, if my hands are on the rope, maybe I won’t “lose my way…………”

Perhaps being the sole owner of that mold is a GOOD thing. Too many Georgies in this world well, this world just is not big enough for that! 🙂

BB agrees. She said if Georgies get crowded, she could always start calling me Adolphus………………… You can imagine my reply and extended tongue………….

I’m sure we still don’t really appreciate the slope Amy but I think the photos are beautiful. I’ll just remember hills I’ve hiked when my legs have ached.

My legs were burning and I was grinning! I just recently started to go to a Chiropractor and with just 2 adjustments I am feeling muscles working in a way I have not in years ! Oh for the JOY! My legs yesterday on that walk felt powerful! I really pushed myself, just amazed how strong I felt especially after being so ill. I was out on those hills for 3 hours and that is with my Canon strapped to my chest. I could hug you for recommending my vest! I actually thought of you as I walked and shouted, thank you, Dan! GRIN!

I’m glad that vest worked well Amy. I was out on Saturday with my daughter. Not that much hiking but it was early and cold.

I’ve hiked in snow, Dan. And now that it is so muddy, I’m waiting for the ground to dry up a bit. For now I am staying on ashphalt. 🙂

That’s a good idea Amy. slippery surfaces are not a good place to take chances. It’s hard to see the danger and it’s easy to get hurt.

I really HOPE I am inspiring someone to get off the computer and GO OUTSIDE. To be with Mother in beautiful places, walking out of my Life for a few hours, is what fuels me to continue to live my Life. I am getting rest, Robin, and getting stronger and healthier every day. In fact, I looked at myself in the mirror last night and I actually saw youth returning. Between my walks, and the adjustments I am getting on my back, exercise, eating good, and having a Happy Heart, my body is healing!!! OH FOR THE JOY!!!!! Have a great Sunday! Love, Amy ❤

We are blessed to be able to try and improve our lives through actions, words and setting examples, Amy. I think exercise improves our inner selves just as much as our outer selves. The words, “communing with nature” makes me aware of communing with our nature’s Creator. Hugs, Robin Happy you are feeling: oh, Joy!!

As for exercise, I have been doing so much healing work that I have not been able to get a steady schedule going. But I will, I will because I am a firm believer in it!!! ❤
