To focus on Beauty and Love
[even when tragedy
and great loss have been
Heartbreakingly known] …
Is still a choice
a most difficult one

Yet, when Beauty and Love
are chosen and consistently Lived
the tragedy and loss of bygone days

Beauty and Love will reign instead.

  1. This is a beautiful combination of images and words that combine to give us strength. You do this so well Amy. I often wonder if you wrap the words around the images or take the images to support the thoughts in your head, or if these combinations just come together magically. However it happens, I’m glad to see the results.

    1. Dan, before I leave here to get all I need to get done this morning, I would like to tell you how this happened. After having a conversation with George, I “heard” words in my head that I wrote down … words that you see today. At that time, I had no pictures. That day, I wanted to go to Chestnut Park but had not the time so grudgingly I went to Como Park for a walk and that is where I found these images. I had NO idea that I would be using these photos to the words. I fell into magic at that park! I began to really look at the photos and I chose which ones I would like to show on Petals. As I was editing them, the words I had written began to tug at me and I began to think maybe I can combine the two. I really worked hard on this one. Sitting in my chair I had no clue what photo to put where. So I typed the words in my editor, and really began pulling them apart, thinking about thes photographs. That is when the magic continued. Each photo told me where to put it, so to speak. When finished I amazed me. I am humbled by what happens when magic arrives in my life.
Now on to my day. We are taking Cuddles and Bella in to our Vet and I have the morning chores and meds to get down as well. I’ll talk to you later!!!! Much Love, Amy ❤

    2. Dan, it is comments like this that really, and I mean really, make my day. To be acknowledged for what I do, not only the work behind the scene but the seemingly magic that touches my Life, is a Gift to me. I thank you from the bottom of my Heart for starting my day with a huge smile. It was a very challenging day, and the part that was, is over, thank goodness!! Bless you! ❤

  2. It is absolutely beautiful, Amy. Yes, not matter what happens around us, we always have the choice to focus on love and beauty in order to find the strength for facing life. There is always something beautiful to find if we are only open for it. Stunning photos, Amy. As always!

    1. Thank you ever so kindly, Erika. I really poured my Heart into this one. After speaking with George, the words came swiftly which I wrote down. Then I walked in a park I really didn’t want to …. LONG STORY. In that walk I found MAGIC and oh how I thanked my guidance for getting me in that park. This post just came together again as if by MAGIC. This is a deep one. Thank you for taking the time to comment!! Love, Amy ❤

      1. I understand exactly what you mean with “it just came together by magic”. When it flows it flows and one thing supports the other. That flow and that magic is truely radiating, Amy 💖

    1. Thank you, Rita. Yes I Love George as my good friend and I am happy you are enjoying his site. He truly is the most intriguing, intelligent, most sensitive man I know who really appreciates BEAUTY and who really has his head on straight. 🙂 Love you!! (((HUGS))) Amy ❤

    1. Oh, cuz, oh. You’ve got the tears moving. To be seen as you see me, to be understood as you understand me, gives the word “purpose” a new meaning in my Life. Bless you from the bottom of my grateful Heart!!! Love, kisses, (((HUGS))) Amy ❤

    1. Thank you, Marissa. To even think I grumbled that I had to walk in this park instead of my usual park brings pink of embarrassment to my cheeks. The MAGIC I walked into!!! After seeing a rat (I kid you not!) I very carefully walked over to the waterfalls where to my utter delight I saw such Beauty. Of course I forgot about that rat the moment I had my camera out. Good thing I was there when I was because the snow and ice are almost all gone here. Really!!! So glad you enjoyed and thank you so much for your glorious comment. Love, Amy ❤

    1. Thank you, Amanda!! My Heart was really in this one, believe me. The words when they came, so swiftly they came and me not knowing that the pictures I took (I think) that very day, would be used for those very same words I heard. Yes I am well …. very busy but well. I’m finally over the cold I seemed to have had!! I hope you are well, too, my dear friend!! Love, Amy ❤

    1. Kathy, thank you SO much! I was astonished how the words fit. The set of pictures I shot and the words were two total separate entities, no link at all. I don’t know what made me think I could match the pictures to the words, but when I did, my mouth flew wide open. Magic, my friend. That is all I can say. Magic again. 🙂 Love, Amy ❤

    1. Yes it does, Raewyn. Thank you for acknowledging that these words are deeply moving. The emotion within this post directly from my Heart was unstoppable as I put this post together. I’d go so far as to say this post is a life altering event for me. I am so glad you came here to see this, my friend. Love, Amy ❤

    1. Neihtn, I am floored by your praise of my photography. Oh wow! Thank you SO much! I really took my time framing each of these images, carefully looking at the formations in the ice to see which ones were most spectacular. I had the perfect overcast day to get my images to look like this. I honestly don’t know what else to say. I’m really touched! Bless you! Love, Amy ❤

    1. Hi, Eliza!! Thank you so much for your kind words. Number 3 is my favorite too. When I adjusted the lighting to really bring those icicles to attention, I was amazed by the back lighting that came through. I am so glad you enjoyed this post. This one really nothing was held back. I had to let go a lot of “emotion” today while I went for a LONG walk so that I can again be Balanced. I know I would not be the person I am today without the losses I have had, yet, there are times I just about double over as the tears cascade down my face. As I said, the choice to live in beauty and Love is far from easy at times … yet this I truly have chosen. Hope your day was a good one, my dear friend!!! Love, Amy ❤

  3. These are all really great pictures Amy! I think you’re doing a great job! Good winter shots, which I usually don’t think possible, so it’s very inspiring to me! I know how the past can hurt, and yes, haunt us sometimes… But you’re a strong woman, filled with life and determination; that’s the stuff of genius, and I think you’ve got the stuff! My I.Q. is only 37, but why should that matter? Great effort Amy! I’m really proud of you! All my lovin’ : D xOxOxO

    1. Aw, thank you, Darrell. I did say a few months back how I really did not like winter yet this year I was determined to fall in Love with it. I wouldn’t go so far as to say I really am head over heels with it, but I can say this, I am enjoying this winter greatly. It is so true when we change our attitude we literally change out Life. There are certain aspects of my life that I could grumble and complain and be miserable because what I am doing is a lot of work and hey, darn it, I just want to play! BUT! When I change the attitude from that of l’miserable, to LOVE, everything changes, I feel so much better, and my day flows as does the smile on my face. The MIND is very powerful. There have been many things I really did not think I could do, yet I have done them when I made up my MIND to do them.
Same goes for my photographs. I could be sulking at home, refusing to go in the cold, or I could accept the fact winter is here and enjoy it. For the first time since I was a kid, I really am enjoying the outdoors in winter. Imagine that!!! (((HUGS))) Amy ❤

    1. Thank you, my dear friend. This post came together with MAGIC, there is no doubt in my mind. The words just burst forth from my Heart … and when I combined the photos I had taken (having no idea I would match them with the words when I took them) made me sit back in awe of me and the MAGIC that I seem to be connected to. Bless you for your compliment. You truly have the “eye” for what works and what does not, so I consider this high praise coming from you. Again, thank you, Melissa!!! Love, Amy ❤

      1. That is one of my Dreams, Carol. First though I am being called as a Mom and Healer of special needs cats. There will be a huge void in my life when they are gone. I’ve got just the thing. Write a book. 🙂

      2. Carol, you have a LONG wait as in years. First, I must focus on helping these felines until they are ready to pass. Until then, I have Petals to publish what my book will be like. 🙂 ❤

    1. Thank you, Julie!!! These were actually taken with my Samsung Galaxy CAMERA 2. I actually prefer the camera versus the phone camera …. The images are not as “sharp” as they are with my Samsung phone camera. I go back and forth between my Canon, Samsung Camera, and Samsung phone camera. Confused? LOL Whatever “spirit” hits me, I go with it! LOL Glad you enjoyed this!! (((HUGS))) Amy ❤

    1. WE never got hit with Jonas, believe it or not. This photograph was taken in the park I normally walk in. The roads are all snow covered and icy in places so it is very challenging to walk. I was having a glorious walk when I took this shot. LOL This would be considered my “winter picture”. Hope you are having a great weekend. Love, Amy ❤
