    1. Thank you, Jodi. Yes they are precious, believe me. I have dedicated my Life to them and have in many ways put my Dreams on hold until I see them safely to the Rainbow Bridge. All are special needs, my friend. And I am there Mom who takes care of them sometimes until I drop. SO glad my “kids” were able to bring a smile to your face today!! Love, Amy ❤

    1. Those couches WERE my dream furniture and now are sore for the eyes IF you look for purrfection. I no longer have those eyes but do have eyes that see my babies that are purrfection on the couches that are less then purrfect now. (smile) So glad you enjoyed a few moments with what I see every day, Julie!!! Oh, for the JOY!!! Love, Amy ❤

  1. These guys are fun!

Love all your work…especially your flower photography.
I tried to comment on the last one, but comments were closed. 😦

I think it’s amazing how you capture so much and don’t have to digitally alter.
    Happy Monday! Marie

    1. Thank you, Marie. My comments were closed because I literally fell into bed and slept/rested for 2 days. My “real life” has been so crazy busy and so very challenging and to keep blogging has been a massive undertaking. I’m so glad you are enjoying Petals. I have a busy day but I do hope to get over to see your blog sometime today. Don’t give up on me. 🙂 ❤

  2. Ooooh, so lovely! They are staying warm. I guess the record breaking snow storm is over. I was watching the news this morning… It reminded the photos you posted last year.

  3. Hiya Amy!

3 kitties and a skunk, now that’s diversity!

I been a bad boy Amy. Well maybe not. Fox Boston had a headline on a story about the Falls drying up in 2 to 3 years. They say in the stroy after the bait/click it is to build a couple bridges.

I enlightened those in New England with the truth……. even included one of my shots of the bridge to nowhere.

Headline, what else would it be. You didn’t think Canada was really going to tell you about our plan to partition the great lakes did you? We’re using the California Water Rights Model so thanks!

We’re still doing a cost analysis but we figure it’ll cost the average American about $8.00 a litre.

As for that bridge thing, y’all weren’t really buying it were you? Still got one to finish.

    1. Gary, I have no idea what you are talking about. You are talking about a nightmare, and right about now, I am up to my eyebrows in nightmares. I’m shaking my head as I write this to think our lakes will be partitioned. OMG what will man do next to destroy this earth?

      1. Well that is the response I was looking for from New England but you knowing me and my sense of humour…. 😉

The secret is writing it in a way and adding in something plausible, like that old bridge project that became an observation deck.

So if you saw plausible and you live in the area….. I done good!

      2. Now it seems I know what you are talking about. I just read about it. I think it is a big mistake to go through with this. There must be another way then to turn the falls off.

      3. I saw them too, Gary, around that time. It was eerie. I’ll have to try to get on over there to take some pictures. Operative word here is try. My life is so crammed and busy lately. Yiye!

  4. I just love this post Amy and I do know, how difficult it can be to be allowed to photograph our cats. They need to be in a special mood to allow us 😀
All homes should have such a nice place with cats. They are anti-stress, if we give ourselves time to sit with them, one by one.
I wish you all the best and big hugs, my friend.
    Much love ❤ Irene

    1. Oh I so encourage you to do so. Please educate yourself, Charlie, on how best to care of cats. Cats above all else are obligate carnivores, which means they must eat meat (PROTEIN). I’ve learned so much since my first days of getting a cat. I look back and wish what I knew now I knew back when. Love, Amy ❤

    1. Ah, thank you, John!!! Prinny is very special, so sweet with lots of problems that we finally (hopefully) are getting addressed. She is “Daddy’s girl” no doubt. She actually has Russian Blue in her … not full but a lot. So glad you enjoyed this post today!!! Love, Amy ❤

  5. Girlies saw the print, they asked Brother what Converse meant, they thought it was the name of Tennis shoes and couldn’t make the connection until he explained the meaning like in conversation. they replied, why didn’t you just say TALK?????????????????????????????? soon they’ll be 4………… I just can’t wait until they’re teenagers, I’ll need more guns………………………..👀 ♥ * ͜ * ♥ 👀

    1. Ahhhhh, so I helped get the Girlies to think past tennis shoes. Hehehehehehehe Well, I never dreamed I could do that! I’ll have to remember next time to use the work TALK now that I know they read! Heavens to Betsy! I have 3 year olds helping me to write!!! LOL LOL LOL God help you, George, when these girls hit 10, much less the teen years!!! OHMYGOSH! 🙂

      1. By the looks of things as how this world is going, they will be smart to be the best shot in town! I wish I knew how to handle a gun. I abhor them, yet things IMO are not going to be getting better any time soon. I’m just shaking my head over these Girlies. They are truly something else!!! Unique individuals, unlike anyone I know!! Wow!

      2. Confused. Sorry. I thought they were your grandchildren. George, there so many of you way on over there, I loose track. OK. Girlies are your nieces. Got it! The brilliant duo! I’m getting grammar lessons from 3 year olds. They made my day. I’m laughing!

      3. Their zMom is the younger Sister of my deceased first wife who died before she was born. Their parents died when younger sisters were teenagers, they became my wards, only surviving family. Her twin has been travelling through Europe since my second wife passed. Lost too many family members too soon, escaped to get her act together. Hasn’t seen new Nieces or our youngest Grands yet. Rarely she checks in, I keep resources available if she wants yo come home anytime.. Not easy, but PTSD and depression only lets us help her when she allows us.

      4. *eyes crisscrossed* Even with explanation …. Are you kidding? So, your Nieces are really not “blood” but are family because you adopted them and LOVE them. That’s all that matters to me. As for the lost Soul in Europe, I underrstand only too well what PTSD and depression does. Thank God those Girlies and everyone else in that family have YOU, a Lion with a Heart of Gold. I mean that, George. How incredible that you turned your Life around only to reach out to those who really were in need. Bless you! ❤ ❤ ❤

      5. Nieces adopted brother and my three adopted children and the three Grands they have given me aren’t blood, but they’re part of the Clan. We’re a mini UN inside one Clan, yep we get looks from the curious from all sides of life, but after being around us for a while, they know we’re not as odd or different, just united in love and compassion. with many dialects and accents. Nieces would be family any way, just because my first wife died, that didn’t keep any of us from staying family, well, except Mother in Law, she blamed me for taking her young Daughter away and ultimately for deaths of her first born and ours, too. Woman died bitter and missed out of some of the most precious gifts in the world, seeing her remaining daughters grow up into beautiful and wonderful people and seeing the cutest and smartest Granddaughters anyone could ever wish for. It could have made me miss all this if I had listened to her and blamed myself, too. thankfully I put the blame on the right person and let go of hate and bitterness and embraced love and my Clan.

      6. PS Good luck trying to explain to the Girlies the abstract concept in my post today and the play with words. 🙂 I’ll eat my hat IF those smarties get it. Hmmmm …. Knowing they have incredibly Gifted Teachers I have a feeling I will be eating my hat. 😦

      7. Haha. You’re safe, for now. Nephew trying to explain the generalities of Ground. To them ground means dirt/grass and the result of grinding coffee and tree stumps. Mom will teach them the psychology of “standing their ground.” She has a way with words that a mute or 10 year old can’t compete with normally. Uncle George’s ideas are more protective and defensive, just inborn. 💞

      8. You had me going there for a minute. *wipes forehead* I did study what children can and cannot comprehend at certain ages. Abstract is a tough one for a 3 year old, even IF that 3 year old is a prodigy genius. LOL

      9. I’d say you will always have tricks up your sleeve to pull over on these Girlies. Experience and wit … ya can’t go wrong there! As for humble …. my picture of Prinny yesterday said it all. Yep, my cats know humble as well as they are the most pampered LOVED cats in the world. It is SO important, seriously, to have the Girlies understand humility. Man, they are SO smart that it would be too easy for them to get an attitude of superiority. With you around, I really don’t think that will happen. I do believe they will come to understand what a Gift they have been given by God and to use that Gift to better this world. And by gosh, they will. I know it. And I will witness it! Keep feeding them the good stuff I write along with my photos …. those also will instill the deep wisdom I have been Gifted with. And so I pass on to the next generation and beyond …… ❤ ❤ ❤ *tears*

      10. We have to begin to explain a lot of those “play on words” and double entendre/zweifachen Bedeutung phrases. they know that languages don’t always translate word for word, so not all new for them. Sometimes they think brother is just messing with them. And sometimes he does……………..
He’s been around Uncle George too long maybe? He knew me with a voice…………..

      11. Whoa!! Back up! I’m washing my face and my foggy tired brain just registered the fact you fathered a prodigy? Holy Moly, George! Now you are scaring me! I knew for real you were “genius level” but now? OH wow! You just blew me right out of the water with what you just said. Those Girles could teach ME in all seriousness. Who is teaching them? And whoever it is, HOW can they keep up with these Extremely Bright Brains? Now with that thought, I bid you adeau. I probably spelled that word wrong and the Girlies can tell me how to spell it correctly. English …. Good night! LOL

      12. Between documenting Bella’s and Cuddles’ histories for tomorrow’s Vet visit, getting all their paperwork in order, getting both spa’ed and ready for tomorrow (teeth, nails, ears), cleaning up my laptop, answering the mountain of comments I am STILL buried under from yesterday, AND putting together a post for the morrow with comments closed that I am dedicating to you …. ‘Tween all that, I’m trying to remember to breathe. And yes you are lucky! ❤

      13. Taking these cats in has been really stressful. Perhaps I will do that post on another day. We’ll see how tomorrow goes. I may need an outlet to let some steam off. I just finished editing the pictures that go along with the post. Almost finished with the preparation of taking my babies in, still have YET to get through all comments. Can you believe that one? Yup, I must be LOVED. 🙂 ❤

      14. How do you expect me to keep your family history straight? My brain is bulging! I’ve yet to incorporate the “other” information you sent me. So the Nieces AND the Grands are there within the Clan? Three year olds are Nieces. You are not a prodigy but close by my standards and your children who are very smart married even smarter spouses who produced even more smarter chidren. Whoa! So far have I got THAT straight? Now on to process the other email …. Perhaps my morning brain will do much better. 🙂

    1. Laugh again. Those top cushions are permanently indented no matter how much I fluff them. Nope. My cats have claimed my once “dream couch” as theirs. To be truthful, I like the couch better this way then purrfect. 🙂 ❤

  6. They are soooooo cute Amy. we are partial to black and white, but they are all adorable. I love how they have arranged themselves on the couch. It’s too cute for words (but yours are nice).

    1. Can you believe I am just NOW getting to answer your comment, Dan? HOLY MOLY! Yes, my cats are winners in my eyes and those shots were taken when the light was just right! We now have permanent indentations on the cushions of that couch, courtesy of Rusty and Cookie. LOL No matter how much I fluff or wash, that indentation is there to stay!!! It truly is a designer couch!!! Hehehehehe Love, Amy ❤

      1. There must be something wrong with this part of WordPress. I read this yesterday, on my phone but decided to wait to respond. Of course, it didn’t stand out as new any more, so I forgot. If it helps you to feel better, when we bought the couch for our family room, a key consideration was that the arm was the right height for the dog’s head. I’m serious.

      2. Oh goodie, I’m not the only NUTS one over animals. Dan, that is too funny and in fact I am still laughing. But of course you would consider the couch for your dog’s head. I wouldn’t expect anything less of you!!! 🙂

    1. I know, Natalie. They truly are the Loves of my Life. I woke up this morning around 5am, not able to shut my mind off. I had Cookie on the pillow to my left, Bella on the pillow to my right, Sassy on my hip, Doodles next to me, and someone at my feet …. I think Rusty …. all trying to comfort me to go back to sleep. It worked. Next time I woke up in was 8am. 🙂 Love, Amy ❤

    1. I will, Julie. One is driving me nutso right now … very hyper. I have to go feed her. She’s one of those guys who reacts opposite to an effect then expected. Example … Valerian which yes you can give cats for anxiety with this one she becomes more anxious. Always something here …. But I will definitely stroke each one and say HI from Julie. 🙂 Love, Amy ❤

  8. Hi! Weird, strange, and peculiar person here… The cat has my tongue! I won’t pussy foot around, these are really great shots! I was thinking of you, so I thought I’d stop by and become a pest; ‘What’s in your fridge?’ Great topic for a blog! Eh? I gave another one to a friend: ‘How mushrooms messed me up!’ How has life been treating you? I know I’ve seen neglectful lately… I have a blog entry explaining all that. 1. I’m trying something different. I can’t say what, cuz it’s a secret still… This winter unfortunately, was a bit of a bust as far as getting started was concerned… You’re getting some great shots now; maybe February is your month for more snow? Would you like me to pray for a blizzard, or just a snow squall?

      2. Actually I am enjoying this winter just as it is. As I look out my window I see GREEN grass and that is way OK with me. Then when I go up in the hills for my LONG walk, there is still snow covering everything, so I have the best of both worlds right now. And for your secret …. time will tell. 😉 ❤
