I’m loving this wash of blue. The color of the water has to be one of my favorites. Now, this you did enhance, am I correct?

Not really, Marissa. This is how it really looked. I decreased the highlights (very sunny!) and deeped the blue just a touch. What you see is what I saw. I was in Paradise. ❤

That’s especially lovely considering how late in the year it is, Amy! Though maybe I only think that because I’m so far north. Usually we’re buried under a few feet of snow by now! (But not this year, praise the Lord! Snow-free at the moment. A nice change from last year’s brutal winter that started the first of November!)

Wendy, to have NO snow at this time of year and to experience temps in the 50’s yesterday … I’m pinching myself saying…. This is December???? I am spending as much time as I can outside becasue I know this will not last. Last year was a nightmare! What a difference a year makes! I was dressed yesterday as if it were late September!
May your weekend be wonderful, my friend!!! Love, Amy ❤

Not surprising in the least you understand, Erika!! Thank you for being a part of this special post … the experience itself left me yesterday just not wanting to leave. I’m thrilled at how wonderful my images came out, and I am like a kid who is playing “mindlessly” because I have brought my Canon back out to use!! I just have to figure out a convenient way to carry this camera and lens for my walks. I’ll get there! 😉 LOL (((HUGS))) Amy ❤

Haha…. I can imagine it is quite a challenge. The camera must be amazing but for sure a bit inconvenient to carry around 😀 Yes I understand that you did not want to leave. Happens to me all the time when sitting at the ocean. 😊

OH, Dan!! I honestly did not want to leave this place yesterday. *sigh* It was just Heaven and the pictures I did take are glorious! I hope to get more on Petals as soon as I can. Thank you for the compliment about my image. I feel like getting a bottle of champagne and cracking it over … um let me see … Let me try again. An imaginary bottle of champagne and cracking it over this photo. I have my Canon back out!!! YAY! That is cause of celebration!!! Now if only I can figure out a comfortable way to carry it. A baby carrying harness came to mind …. hmmmmm …. that would be perfect! Anyways … again thank you for stopping by!! I means a lot to me!! (((HUGS))) Amy ❤

My daughter has a carrying strap that goes over both shoulders and around her so the camera is steady, easy to get to but doesn’t bounce. It has a quick connect. She loves it.

That’s exactly what I am looking for. Do you know the brand? What is it called, do you know? I tried wearing my backpack on the front of me yesterday which sort of worked but it was just too bulky. I really appreciate your help, Dan!!! Thank you!!! ❤

We got it for her at B&H photo. Search for “Cotton Carrier” – there are a bunch. We got her the one she asked for as she thought it would fit best.

She had shoulder problems and had to have neck surgery. She can’t use a strap any more.
LikeLiked by 1 person
The strap gets me too. I cannot have a heavy camera around my neck for any great length of time. It’s not good for a healthy neck to have that much weight hanging from it, much less a neck that I have that has “issues”. I really am grateful for this information … I’m going to B&H right now. ❤

Looks perfect. The only thing …. my 17-55mm lens does NOT have a lock on it. You have no idea how many times I wish it did. I never thought to check that out when I bought it. Darn darn darn!
LikeLiked by 1 person
I don’t know what that means?

When my camera is pointed down towards the ground, the lens extends out …. there is no lock on the lens to keep it in place like I have on my 70-300mm lens. I had planned on using my 17-55mm lens for most of my shooting this winter. Now in some of the description of the cotton carrier, it said it had a velcro strap to go around the lens cap. If that is the case and this strap goes from the camera body, down and around the lens cap to keep the lens from extending, and then back up to the camera body …. then it is perfect. Does Faith’s have this feature, Dan?

I am so grateful, Dan! In the meantime … have a wonderful evening! Hubby walked with me (5 miler) today and oh wow, I be aching. La la la la la …… LOL ❤

I tested mine out a bit with a long lens fully extended. The Velcro strap is designed to go flat across over the top of your lens to keep it pressed down against your body so it doesn’t swing out as you move. You could stretch the strap down and around your lens cap and then back up to the other side, but in my opinion that might cause the lens to slip up and out of the strap as there would be nothing to hold it down. However, there might be other ways to make this work with a little bit of creative accessorizing. They make lens cap holders that stick to the front of your lens cap and clip into the camera body clips to prevent you from losing the lens cap. You could try using two of those on the cap and clip the straps in on either side of your camera after adjusting your lens down to its shortest range. That might hold it in, and then you could remove the lens cap to fully extend the lens. That said, I have NO idea if that would work 🙂 It’s just what came to mind as I was trying to figure out how I would solve the problem, and since the lens cap holders aren’t very expensive, it’s what I would try first. Hope that helps somewhat – you can come up with other ideas too. A lot of gear requires a little extra creative love to make it your own 🙂

Thank you so much for replying, Faith. Wow, you really wrote a lot and truly I am grateful. I am not concerned so much about the lens cap as I am the lens itself that does not have a lock on it, so when my camera is pointed to the ground, the lens itself extends being it a 17-55mm zoom lens. I thought the velcro strap might work to keep the lens itself strapped in up close towards the camera body. I don’t have a problem keeping my lens cap on. I’ve been putting my creativity to the test and I think I may have come up with an alternative … a Coleman cooler (small) strapped around my waist via a sturdy leather belt I have, with the cooler in front. I haven’t actually tried it out, just an idea of mine. I’m still tossing around the piece of equipment you have to hold my camera. That is a pretty hefty price tag SO if that cooler idea of mine works, I will go with that. All I would have to do is unzip it, and then put the strap around my neck to shoot. Even though I have neck problems I do put the strap around my neck when I am holding the camera just in case I get the case of fumble fingers and my camera goes flying (which has happened.)
I again thank you for taking the time to respond to my question, and please thank your Dad for passing on the information. ❤

I don’t like it when you feel sad, Darrell. Life is too short to feel sad. Choose happy and throw yourself into something that you are SO passionate about you don’t want to do anything else. Friend, if you truly understood the challenges in my Life, and still I will not give into sad …. except when my Dad and Molly died …. then if I can do it so can you. Please? Pretty please with sugar on top?

You can hear the voice of mother nature in that special sound the mountain trail makes under each step of your boats, the soft whispers that comes from the stream as it moves across the rocks, or in the wonderful chorus of the ocean waves as they break against the shore; they all combine to tell the story of our world.

All in good time, Shrimp. I’ve been told that when a woman miscarries, especially in the early months, there is something wrong with the baby. So, this is Mother Nature’s way of sending the baby back to Heaven so that the Angels can heal that little tot. (((HUGS))) Mom BonZo ❤
