Model Molly for Feline Acupuncture

Western medicine does not hold all the answers when it comes to health and healing.  In fact, western medicine causes harm in some instances … NOT all.  It also practices on the premises of the band-aid philosophy (the cover up), not addressing the root cause of the dis-ease to treat.

I encourage all who read this post, to ask questions of medical professionals, to make independent educated decisions about your health and your pets’ health, and to start understanding that bodies, both human and animal alike are not made to put harsh chemicals into, nor to be exposed to surgeries, x-rays, and invasive procedures on a regular basis.  The Created Body is miraculous in Essence deserving to be treated gently and with respect. Our bodies do possess an innate ability to heal naturally when given the right modalities to do so.

For these reasons and more my hubby and I treat our special cats holistically using western medicine sparingly.  There have been several times we combined allopathic medicine (western) with alternative medicine to save Life.  By no means do we throw out the baby with the bath water, turning our backs on western medicine.  Due to Molly’s condition, we have been giving her allopathic medications because we at the time of her diagnosis, knew not what else to do.

Here in this image you see Molly laying still with a total of 8 acupuncture needles in her for a period of 10 minutes.  Towards the end of those 10 minutes she began to get squirmy so I positioned my body even closer around her as best as I could, cuddled in being even closer then close, and began to sing to her.  She calmed down immediately and waited patiently for the doctor to return to remove the needles.

That is when hubby took this picture at my request.  Seeing is believing that a cat will actually allow needles to be stuck in her.  Amazing!

When Molly was adopted by me in 2004 from a local SPCA, she had been given massive vaccinations that left a permanent bare round mark on her body.  In 2006 the Veterinarian I at the time was taking our cats to, told me our cats needed to be vaccinated with Rabies/Distemper.  And so I took my cats in to be vaccinated, Molly being one of them.

Molly used to jump 3-4 feet in the air chasing a birdie that we played with our cats with.  After she came home from that appointment in 2006, Molly slowly stopped playing and no longer jumped for the birdie.  In 2009, she was diagnosed with CHF (Congestive Heart Failure).  Molly was not born with this condition.  This condition was created in her body by western medicine (my opinion). The alternative Vet we saw at the time of Molly’s acupuncture treatment, agreed with me when I discussed with her my theory as to the reason why Molly today has CHF as a direct result from vaccinations.

I have to live with the ramification of my actions for the rest of my life.

One other cat I took to be vaccinated in 2006, our Princess died a horrible death, dead just 3 months after being vaccinated.

Again, I must live knowing I allowed this to occur.

All the other cats that went that day are still alive but many today present with many troubling symptoms.  I honestly don’t know if their health was compromised due to this vaccination, but it is a very real possibility.

The animals and humans in today’s world are being over-vaccinated.  Please do your homework regarding vaccines.  The alternative Veterinarian we are now seeing, who is a Gift from Heaven, knows how to give animals protection against rabies without a vaccine.  If you Love your animals as much as I Love mine, you will do what is right by them.  Please educate yourselves.  I did and I have never looked back.

And remember, friends, I worked as an RN, believing in the medical system with everything I am.  That is no longer true today.

For those of my Beautiful Friends who have voiced their concern for our Molly, she already is showing improvement after only one acupuncture treatment and now being given a new Homeopathy Remedy for diuresis. To see Molly glow with health is such relief to this Mom!

For those of you who do have an open mind, again I so encourage you to EDUCATE yourselves regarding your health choices and those for your pets.

    1. Marissa, if I told you how I have been treated by traditional Vets, you would be shocked. Believe me, there is this huge push by medicine to medicate, vaccinate, procedurate, xrayate. I believe in natural means to heal. I am still looking for that means for myself. It is a journey, at times long and difficult. Thank you for the comment. You encouraged me more then you really know. I’ve definitely fallen victim to doctors who want to do unnecessary procedures, thankfully it’s mostly with my kids who have insurance although it is a waste of time and sometimes unpleasantly so. Mostly just an unnecessary amount of x-rays but there was a doctor who decided my son had 6 cavities and then through a second opinion we found out he had none and still has none to this day!! Glad I could be encouraging to you Amy!

      2. It is shocking at the greed of this world, Marissa, and no matter where one has to question and always be aware. It’s exhausting! Who can you trust? Good for you for questioning that first dentist and going to a second. Reminds me what happened to me when I was in my early 20’s except I wasn’t wise enough to seek out another opinion. To this day I think that all the work that was done on my teeth was really not needed. What’s done is done. I’m happy for your son that he has a wise Mom!!! ❤

  3. I’m so happy for you that Molly is doing better, and that you persevered in finding treatment options. You’re so right….Western medicine does not hold all the answers! I’m fortunate to have found a personal physician who doesn’t like to prescribe pills and is open to alternative therapies. For ourselves, and out animal companions–there is never only ONE right way.     1. Thank you, Celia!!! No there is not just one way. If we learn to use the best combinations for US and our pets, we really would discover health, and I mean real health. It takes a lot of courage and intellect to question traditional medicine and to educate ourselves regarding health. There is SO much to learn, to understand encompassing diet, to supplements, to treatments, to medicines, herbs, Homeopathy. It’s daunting at first but that is what we are doing and we do not regret it for one moment. To see Molly with health on her face blows my mind, and tugs so hard at my Heart.     1. We all must take responsibility for our heath and our pets’ health, Amy. Western medicine has become ruthless in many aspects and I for one, will not compromise my hard earned health nor my cats’ health and allow drugs and procedures that I know do cause harm. My view is not popular especially in mainstream medicine. In fact, I just recently was kicked out of an animal hospital we had been taking our cats to because I notified the owners of something that I witnessed that I know to be wrong and what I consider to be animal abuse. Instead of firing the people involved, I was told to leave this facility and over the phone, one of the Vets smeared me as a person, making me out to be this terrible person. To say I was shocked is an understatement. When I say I’ve been through nightmares, I am not exaggerating. Please think upon the points I brought to your attention in this post.   7. You guys are so good to your cats. I hope the treatments help in all cases. We have had problems that seem to be related to vaccines and problems related to food. It’s so hard, especially in our case, where it involved dogs and there are laws requiring the shots. My wife shopped around for a better vet and constantly keeps an eye on the food our dog and cats get. Good luck Amy!

    1. Dan, if you can find an alterative Vet in your area, that Vet will know how to protect your dog from Rabies with something called Homeopathic Nosomes. These hubby and I will not mess with because they really are very powerful. An alternate Vet will probably also do a titer test which will show if your dog is still showing a positive for the rabies vaccine. Tradtional medicine does not do this. And as for food … I have researched years to bring my cats what I believe is the best nutritiion. I know I can still do better, but right now, I am doing my best. I wish you and your wife the best.     1. I am seeking the same thing, Lisa. I will be asking this Vet the next time we see her if she can recommend someone for me. I contend with pain and have for the last 22 years when I sustained a severe back injury. That story is long. I know I have written about this part of my life here.     1. My cats have taught me what Love is, Erika. Only on WP have I experienced the Unconditional Love my cats live by. In the real world, it is a different story. Yet, I am now walking into a New Reality for me, crossing paths with people who understand Love and healing.   12. Awwww…healing hearts and minds here Amy. 💗 I had been wondering how Molly was doing as well as your many other cats. On a path of healing I see. I took a friends dog for acupuncture several years ago. He did wonderfully! He had an injury by a bigger dog and his vet only offered surgery with not a good prognosis. It has been about three years now and he is happy and chasing squirrels. I know many people including myself that have been helped with acupuncture. It is the first place I go now. 😊 Thank you for posting this Amy. The path to healing is one of balance and love. The oath doctors once took was one of “do no harm”. I agree so much with your sentiment regarding the physician’s oath … I’ve been so hurt by medicine, some of my pets have been so hurt by medicine, and how I have been treated by medicine has been atrocious. I am SO thankful we have found this Vet. Next time I see her I am asking for a referral for me. I had been going to a Chinese acupuncturist but she never seemed to be able to help me, just having me come back again and again. Yes, even in the “natural healing world” one must be aware. It’s so sad how so many are focused on money versus LIFE and health. I am glad I posted this for more people truly need to start questioning and taking their own health and the health of their animals, as their own responsibility. May your day BE glorious!!! Having a circle of friends from different lands and cultures, I will consult them first before just jumping into a Dr’s chair or couch.     1. Charlie, so much of this journey is downright scary. We HOPE we know what is going on so we can treat appropriately. We knew Molly needed more then we could give her and there are several more that I would like to bring in to see this doctor. The amount of responsibility is massive at times, and to see some struggle not seemingly improving is very very difficult to emotionally handle. As some of our cats age, of course their symptoms in many cases worsen or increase. I am SO grateful we have found this Vet. I am not able to put into words just what this means to me.   15. It is just so wonderful, that you found this Vet Amy. Molly is clever, why she allowed the needles and I feel sure this will give her both more years, but also much better life quality.
    I don’t know if you can find a doctor working out from Antroposofic philosophy but they can help you with your health. They are double educated with both western and eastern medication. They use to give natural medications alone. I can’t find one here, but have used them in Denmark.
    I’m looking forward to hear about Sassy’s treatment there.

    1. Irene, this Vet is educated in tradtional medicine. She has branched out with alternative medicines like Homeopathy, Acupuncture, herbs, energy treatments. Right now she is learning kinesiology which is something I really want to learn too. We are very very lucky to have found her. Today we started treatment (Homeopathy) with Sassy for her bladder. Again, this is a “hunch”, not sure, but at least we are trying. If this doesn’t work out, she is definitely going in. We must try first, Irene, because this doctor is far from cheap. We do not have unlimited funds. I promise we will do our best for Sassy. (((HUGS))) Amy ❤

      2. LOL OH! Yes that is exactly what I would like as well. Living with pain gets old and I really really desire to address this. Also I question why did my Thyroid fail? What caused it to fail? And other questions too. I want to know the root cause of the imbalance in this body so that I can bring more health to it. I plan on asking this Vet when I next see her if she knows of anyone. Crossing fingers she does …. ❤

      3. I wish you all good luck finding a good alternative doctor Amy. I struggle too with pain etc and get too much western medications and I know that this is not optimal, but not what else to do for now. The language barrier doesn’t help either.

    1. Van, Molly amazed me. My nervy screamer. I think she laid still more out of fear then anything else and of course the way I wrapped my body around her as best as I could to reassure her helped immensely. These cats have given me so much Love, so many laughs, have taught me so many things, that yes I am dedicated to give them a quality life for as long as they are with us. With more then one at a time not feeling well, having to figure out what is going on and then treating those cats, it can get and does get a bit hairy and some days just exhausting. How I do all else in my Life is beyond me.

      1. I really do Love my babies, YC. Most peeps don’t get what I do. This Vet thanked us for being so Loving and committed to our cats because she understands how wonderful animals are.   18. Wonderful post dear Amy, and I am 100% behind your words.. I try to avoid western medicines and like your Molly, I have Been having regular acupuncture for over 4 years now, I began every week then every two, now I have it every 5 weeks apart.. I swear by it .. And I am sure Molly will respond beautifully..
    Please though Amy do not hold guilt over initially seeking treatment with the Vets for Molly.. I am sure you are aware of what holding onto guilt does to our bodies,

    1. Thank you, Sue. I don’t think I am holding onto guilt. I just see what I did as a major Life Lesson, one in which I truly did learn from and grew from. We only do what we know to do at the time. I know differently today and so act differently. This is what Life is all about. Learning and growing …. at least hopefully. 🙂 ❤

  22. This is wonderful, Amy. In the 70’s my parents found holistic medicine and I credit my mom for sticking with it and living so far to 86. I admire your intense dedication to your cats. Loving your cat photograph with acupuncture needles. Your animals are in my thoughts and prayers: even while I am busy. ♡♡

  23. Great post Amy. So pleased that Molly is responding to her acupuncture and your care for her. In the past, most people did not question doctors or vets, but gradually most of us do so now. As you say, there are too many vaccinations for the animals, my poor dog Gizmo did not have any in his last few years, because I said he didn’t need them any more. He was better without other medication too, which had been costing a fortune. If they had helped him I would willingly have paid, but discovered by chance that he was better without. We just do the best that we can, with the knowledge that we have. Sending good thoughts to you and yours. xx

    1. Thank you, Chris, for your heartfelt and caring comment. It has been so difficult to stand up to these Vets over these past years, explaining to them that you do not vaccinate immune compromised animals. The responses I received were not very social. I got kicked out of one facility when I told the owners of a horrendous act I witnessed having to do with a blood draw (not vaccination related). I’ve been made to feel like a criminal because I will not vaccinate my cats. I know and yes you know too, that these vaccinations are unnecessary and are truly hurting our animals. The outright greed and callousness is shocking, not only seen in animal medicine but human as well. You were right to withhold vaccinations from Gizmo and for this I applaud you. I also agree with you about the medications. Out of the 14 “special” cats we care for, only one is on medications (allopathic or western) and that cat is now even sicker because of one of the meds that is causing kidney failure. Yes, it is Molly. Years ago I did not have the knowledge I have today so I trusted a Vet to put Molly on drugs to save her life. I admit I did not do my homework on these medications and probably if I had, the information about how this med damages kidneys would not have been found. Lately I have gone up another rung in the ladder of understanding, and so began to seek a Vet who is on the same wavelength as we are. I found two. One is the alternative Vet where we took Molly to recently and another one is a traditional Vet BUT she understands the reason why I will not vaccinate and will not give me a hard time. She comes with high recommendations. I have yet to see her but the relief I feel knowing I have two GOOD Vets I can rely on when we come up against the wall. Our knowledge only takes us so far. This alternative Vet is learning Kinesiology which I want to learn. That is a way of asking the energy of a cat what is going on. For example …. (and I have NO idea how this is done yet) finding out which body system is out of balance so that can be treated appropriately. The most difficult thing I have found is to diagnose properly and even when you do, figuring out which treatment plan is best is at times very challenging. If I did not have my photography to give me a sense of purpose just for me, I honestly don’t know what I would do. The work involved, the hours of study, the hours of care, the sacrifices I have made, my own dreams that I have not been able to go after due to my promise to these cats I would care for them to the best of my ability…. I find a sense of peace with my camera that helps me keep walking this very difficult journey. Yes I have learned a lot, and hopefully with this alternative Vet I can share what I know. I have learned so much, yet … it is all self taught. And much is “Spirit Led”, “intuition led” and how do you explain that to this world? Hopefully this Vet will understand that I do not know HOW I know but I do know. (smile)
      BLESS you for listening. I am one of those people who are banging heads with doctors, saying NO and figuring out how best to have health by natural means. I also do not believe in all these procedures and meds that are pushed on people. Our bodies were not made to be prodded, invaded, x-rayed, or given harsh chemicals. But that is for another post. 🙂

  24. Yay for Molly! I have 2 sweet cats. My 3rd cat Pupkin passed in the spring. He was almost 18.
    I do not take them to the vet. I have a very opened minded vet, who does not follow the vet rules. She offers many alternatives. She comes to our home, as she believes as I do that being loaded into a cage and being hauled off somewhere is stressful to any creature. I sure know I wouldn’t like it.
