Looking at this Leaf Hopper
a mere tiny bright green speck
sitting on my sliding screen door
I did not see the intricate design
until my camera’s eye gave me this view.
How can anyone deny
that there is a Master Mind
designing the Wondrous Creations
that are all around us?
I ask you …
Could you create anything like this?
I know I could not.

    1. Nature never ceases to wow me, Andy! This guy was SO small he really was only a speck (2-3mm in length) yet, his eye which I cannot even begin to say its size, moved, and followed me. I took 2 shots of him and the other one his eye was in a different position. Amazing that he just sat there knowing I would not hurt him. Can you imagine what my HUGE camera must have looked like from his perspective? ❤

    1. FLEAS????? Oh man, oh NO!!! Oh, Tom, they are so hard to get rid of. For this reason alone, I will not allow my cats outside. I really wish you all the best on getting rid of fleas. I hope you know how to without chemicals that will harm your cats. 😦

      1. LOL, I’m an old pro at dealing with fleas. Someone abandoned 2 kittens in my yard a couple of weeks ago. I brought them in and of course they had them. It’s pretty much on the way out now, but for a few days, everyone was scratching. :-{

      2. You need to learn isolation techniques, Tom! Your poor kitties getting fleas because YOU brought in two more kits. I don’t have fleas here thank goodness and yes even the barn cats next door do not. Why? I think it is because both this farmer and us do NOT use chemicals AND we have many many ants who believe it or not, eat fleas. So, no fleas. That still does not give me reason to let my cats outside. Last year my Rusty almost died due to severe cellulites in his left rear paw and leg after he sliced his pad on a rusty piece of metal (thank you, farmer!) I never want to go through that nightmare again. His leg according to vet medicine needed to be amputated. We said NO and went to work combining vet medicine and our medicine AND my nursing knowledge. Long story short … we saved his leg. Did I tell you this story all ready? If I did, please excuse me. Rusty and now Molly are two of our greatest success stories how alternative medicine and treatments work. I still have yet to figure out how to best help my Karma … that is a story for another day. 😉 ❤

      3. I do remember the story. I wasn’t thinking. I was just so happy to get the kittens in. They were so shy, it took me three days the get close enough to touch them.

      5. One of the old girls adopted them, so they have a surrogate mother. Couldn’t be more that 8 weeks old. 🙂

    1. And the most amazing thing to me is his size about 2-3mm in length. I could not see with my naked eye the intricate designs. And that eye of his followed me … I saw it as I moved my camera. The “grill” to the right of this guy is my SCREEN. Screens have tiny openings to let air in, but bugs not. Just amazing that he allowed me to photograph him! ❤

Where you live is SO beautiful and I hope to live in such a place when I can. How I need the Sea, the Ocean, and someday soon, I will live near one. I am SO touched that you sent this to me.       2. This CD will be my best tool for when I need to see and feel the Sea. When I was in Italy I saw the Mediterranean Sea and I was SO drawn to it, I just stood in one place in awe, drinking it all in. I hope to live to see it again. Perhaps my final days will be in Europe near this Sea …. I don’t know. I felt more at home there then I do in the US. I cannot thank you enough for sending me this, and to hear your voice too, touches me. ❤

        I didn’t know, if you would like them, but thought that you needed some to protect yourself and your family, so created those for you.
        I’m honored to have you too Amy. Can I ask you how long time to wait before the Life Gold will work and be visible to me?
        My cats seem to like it, I mix in some soft and delicious cat food and they wait to be served twice at day.

      6. What I do, Irene, is when I see an improvement in energy for example, I stop giving it to them, allowing their bodies to adjust. Then when I am “guided” I start giving it to them again. They usuall tell me when they have had enough in fact … they just won’t eat the food. It’s tricky, Irene. You really have to observe your cats and communicate with them. I haven’t put the Life Gold in their food in a while, and just today the thought crossed my mind to start giving it to them again. So starting tomorrow, I will give it to them. In fact, Bella who is an all white cat looks a bit yellow in places, another sign that she is in need again of Life Gold. I give it only once per day in with their food. I hope this helps. ❤

      7. Thank you for your explanation Amy. I do communicate and now they love it. The dose at the bottle said 2 times daily. I’m nervous for my white cat and possible damages from the sun, which were very strong in the Spring after a very cold Winter and he went too much to the sun. Many white cats get skin cancer here. They are brothers and now 12 years old. They go in and out in daytime and are inside in the night. While it is so warm here, I keep them inside in mid day, when the sun is burning mostly.
        I keep an eye out for their reaction to the Life Gold. Thank you for your help Amy.

      8. Keep me informed, Irene. Anything I can do for you, please let me know. It is difficult for me to give my cats the Gold twice in one day because breakfast (morning feed) is about the only meal they all eat. Having so many underfoot I have to make decisions sometimes that benefit everyone. IF I see someone who would really benefit the Gold twice a day, I give it to that cat in an oral syringe diluted with water.
        OK. Now I go to feed Karma. I have yet to figure out exactly what is going on. I’m going to try another Ayurvedic herb and see if he reacts to it positively. I keep on trying. Medicine doesn’t have answers accept give him a pill to make him eat. Not even knowing what is going on with him, medicine is prescribing a drug? Really? Of course I said no! You have to KNOW what is going on and sometimes for me, it is a guess or a hunch, or at least, OK, this I know won’t hurt him … let me try this one. 🙂

      10. I may have just given him the right herbal remedy, Irene. Now cats are extremely sensitive. After I gave him this herb, within minutes his eyes looked clearer and after I fed him, he started to continue to eat in a dish that was left over from lunch. I will send you a picture of him.       11. I do feel, that my cats have got a little more energy and I suppose they will give a sign, when they got enough Life Gold, like your cats do.

      14. I know. My Heart melts every time I look at him! He really is my Star Child in ways I would have trouble explaining.
        About your cats: YES! This is how my cats acted too. More energy. Then they seemed to plateau out and then did not eat the food with the Gold in it. It will be interesting tomorrow morning to see how they all eat.
        So happy you see my Karma. He is really special to me. He is 16 years old, believe it or not. ❤

      2. There are many times an image will “speak” to me and I write the words that I hear, Dennis. Other times words I have previously written just beg to be paired with an image that just “jumps” out at me from my library. I’ve learned and am still learning, that in a world that is so complex, Nature’s Essence is based on simplicity and interconnectedness. I can breathe again when I am enjoying the beauty Mother graces all of us with. We find our own connection within the world of Nature. It is not the smart phone. (smile) Thank you for your feedback.   8. That’s a great catch right there! Very interesting to see all the intricate details nature provides, don’t you think? Summer is so fun through the eyes of a child being fascinated and sometimes scared by all the little creatures that creep around. This picture reminds me of that.

    1. I used to lay on the ground and play with potato bugs because I thought they were so cool how they would curl up into a ball. Oh yes I was fascinated at the wee creatures and it seems I never outgrew that. I’m so glad you came over here to see my “find”. I hope you know how small this guy is (about 2-3mm in length) and how I really had to steady my hands so that there was zero camera shake. Yoga strengthens my wrists as does gardening. (and housework LOL) ❤

  10. Incredible shot, Amy! I’ve seen leaf hoppers but never looked closely enough to see how beautiful they are. It’s amazing how a good camera (and great photographer) can bring out details that the naked eye can’t see.

      2. It is a 100mm macro lens, my friend. This lens is so powerful it blows me away. I bought the cheaper one (Canon) without the image stabilizer. Why? Because the one with the IM was almost twice the price! Mine was expensive enough as it is. So my lens is without all the bells and whistles, and you see the proof how well it works. (smile) I also cropped a little off the top of this photo (I usually don’t crop) in order to really focus closely this leaf hopper. That brought the leaf hopper in more to make it even look bigger then in the original shot. I wanted the incredible detail to really show. And it did. 🙂

    1. Thank you, Dan. I am really happy you enjoyed the stats on this guy. From reading some of the comments, not all folks did read the stats who viewed my image. If it helps any, I for the longest time was intimidated taking pictures in manual mode. Then one day I just jumped into it, and I learned hands on what to do. The same goes for PS CC. That program intimidated me as I clung to PS Elements 6. Then one day I threw all caution to the winds and jumped into that. With both, I realized it was mostly my own fear that made something look harder then it really was. Yes, true. Now when I shoot on manual, I just “know” how I am going to shoot something. Sometimes it takes a few adjustments to get the photo to look how I want it to but still overall, I just “point and shoot”. LOL I know there is more to it then that especially as I am shooting in manual mode, not automatic. Hehehehehe I LOVE challenging myself! I do NOT like to be bored. LOL ❤

      1. I can tell that you don’t like to be bored Amy 🙂 And that’s a good thing for those of us who follow you. I wrote (long time ago) about when my daughter pushed me into Manual Mode. It’s been a lot of trial and error, but I can usually get better results when Auto is coming up empty.

      2. I shot on auto for a LONG time and I am just SO glad I pushed myself to do manual. I’ve learned so much and am still learning. One thing my husband told me that has stuck is, fill the frame. Since I don’t like busy in a photograph (when I am shooting flora), I look specifically how to shoot with simplicity involved. And drama, of course. (smile) I LOVE drama in my flower pics. LOL It touches the passionate side of me and I LOVE touching the passion that fuels my Gift.
        And thank you for telling me you know I don’t like being bored because I really am aware of trying to mix up my photos. I have so many gorgeous pics of flowers, yet I still try to put in between the flowers other things. I have SO many stories to tell as well. There is just so much time. *sighs* Perhaps this Life is just a primer for my next when I will have my entire Life dedicated to photography, travel, and writing …. photo journalist perhaps? Dream on!!! ❤

Molly today for the FIRST time since she became so deathly ill a few months back, climbed her tower. AND she is telling me she is too dry which means I start getting her off the Lasix. I am keeping her on ALL Ayurvedic herbs and will ask for guidance as to the dosage after I get Molly off Lasix. I listened to her lungs/heart and they are clear and strong. NO fluid at all! I have NEVER heard her sound this good, ever, George! I have tears in my eyes. This was quite the battle to save her!!!! (((HUGS))) Amy ❤

The thing with peeps is it seems the more you talk about God in the traditional sense, the more they resist. *sigh* That is why I use “universal language” in my posts so as to include all ways of thinking. It is challenging, Shrimp. Peeps are so into themselves these days that God has been furgotten in so many ways. You don’t know how discouraged I get when I keep displaying these incredible beautiful images that could only be made by God and the awe and wonder is in many cases missing.         As fur humans’ resistance to God, I believe it’s partly because there’s so much extremism in the world -so many humans doing evil and unspeakable things in the name of “God”- things He never sent them to do – it’s Pawful – but those who know Him know those ideas and actions don’t come from Him –

That alone is man’s doing. And on either side of the line, both think they are defending what they believe is right.
