    1. Yes, I must agree with you, Trini. Of all the Roses that have not flowered, this one this year has been THE most magnificent of any time I have had Her! I am SO happy you saw Her!!! Love, Amy ❤

      1. You are really fortunate. I have seen the horse next door roll her eyes in fear because of these loud fireworks. People are SO loud and they don’t even think about how their loudness effects those around them. Thank goodness the 4th is over with!!! ❤

  1. Yes, made it back alive. I hope your cats and husband made it through okay. We sat out in the park and saw the fireworks in a very safe atmosphere but we did here a lot of fireworks in the distance and a lot of dogs were getting upset. I thought they were better off left home….and thought of you among the many other concerned pet owners.

The rose is indeed lovely and you really did capture the velvety feel of it as well as the deep red color. I can feel it over here.

    1. Yes, Marissa, we made it through another 4th. All are good! Seeing as I am the hub of the wheel, I maintained great composure and even though the fireworks were loud, I hardly paid any attention to them. Because I did not pay attention to the noise, most of my cats chilled as well.
I’m still trying to get the full essence of this Rose, Marissa. I know what She looks like, and this really is not a perfect match. Thank you for saying what you did though, because it really made me feel better. I’m going to take a closer look at what I shot this evening …. and I am not even going to tell my secrets IF I got Her. Tee hee …. I know the feeling I will have IF I get this Rose perfectly. I sure worked long enough to do so!!! LOL (((HUGS))) Amy ❤

Now they are slowly coming but I saw many more then I did yesterday and in fact, I have a few images in which I captured a bee to prove it!! LOL YES!!! Bees are really here!!! OH FOR THE JOY!!! 1. I have been, Susan. Every chance I get I am out in my gardens just staring at Her. Out of all my Rose bushes, this is the one that is doing the best. She is strong to resist rain and insects. And she glows, honestly! I am so glad you gasped, because She really is breathtaking!!! I really got a kick out of your reaction!!! (((HUGS))) Amy ❤

      1. I’ve missed you, Susan. Since I am having trouble typing due to being that tired, you are the last one I am commenting to. I got all my gardens pruned, cut back, weeded and fertilized today. Tomorrow I reapply my organic insect repellent on my Roses. I just couldn’t do it today. BIG (((HUGS))) and I am SO happy you are working!!! Love, Amy ❤

      2. I cherish your comment, especially since you are tired and have worked in your garden. I did look at a lot of your flower without commenting. I was just overwhelmed. Sleep well, sweet friend.

      3. Love you too, Susan. You are not the first person to say they are overwhelmed when they come to Petals. I know, I post a lot. 🙂 NOW I am getting off of here. Sweet dreams to you too!!! I have to help Karma eat, clean out litters, give meds, take a shower, THEN go to bed. LOL 😉 When I get there, it will be lights out!!! LOL ❤

    1. Cee, I was thinking of you the whole time I was editing this Rose. I honestly did not add blue, much to my amazement but worked instead with contrast, highlighting, and shadows. I decreased the saturation a little, not much so that the red would not “glare”. I tried so hard to get those velvety petals clearly seen, yet everything I have tried, I just havent’ been able to do. I think with my mirrorless camera I captured the velvet petals. With my DSLR, no. So not easy to do. I will keep trying. 🙂 ❤

  2. Oh words can not describe how beautiful she is, Amy. Just love the image and the words. We decided against the fireworks, also. It was hot and muggy yesterday. Was thinking of you. Have a Wonderful Sunday my friend ❤ HUGS

    1. Well, seeing Sunday is no longer and today is Monday, I had a day yesterday where I did some more healing in my gardens. All day I was outside drinking up the sunshine and flowers.
As for this glorious Red Rose, I am so happy you have seen Her!! She tantalizes me with her Beauty as I continue to try to get her velvet petals in an image. I again attempted last evening but I have yet to try to edit the images. I am crossing fingers that what I did worked!!! Have a great Moday, Susan!! (((HUGS))) Amy ❤

    1. Greg, you also I had in mind when I was editing this Rose. Cee is the other person. I know you captured a Rose like this last year and I SAW the velvet petals. How you did it is beyond me. I’ve taken SO many photos all in different settings, in different lighting, and still I just am not able to capture that velvet. Yes She is gorgeous, I admit. I’ve been outside today in my gardens, and I find myself again and again drawn to this beauty. Not many of my Roses are flowering YET this year due to heavy rains and insects, but I have taken care of them as best as I can. This evening my Roses are getting fertilized so I am crossing my fingers that with sunshine and with precautions against these insects, I will have more Roses. Gee, I’ve just written you a small book. LOL (smile) Thank YOU for your compliment!! (((HUGS))) Amy ❤

      1. Hehehehehe Well, Greg, since I have not even attempted HDR yet, I am going with the editing. I just shot this Rose this evening in complete shade, -2 exposure and with the aperture wide open. Shhhhh …… My secret. I have yet to see if I succeeded. *heart pounding* LOL
No apologies, Greg. I know what it is like not to have the brain working. Right now my hands are not working so you are the last one I am commenting to this evening. Grrrrr …… ❤

    1. Thank you, Maniparna. Some day I would like to see huge gatherings of people on the 4th, who quietly meditate upon Independence and what they can do to continue the spirit of Independence personally and globally. The problem is, most people don’t know how to be quiet. ❤

  3. I could not find another rose, should I search and search that would compete with this simply gorgeous red. I can sense it’s velvet texture in this beautiful photograph, Amy. xoxo Hope you will have a special week as you are a special woman.
