The Stillness Within

    1. Dan, we ALL need reminding of this, yes even me. The clock is my worse enemy. You should see me racing and flying in the mornings to get everything I must get done before I go to my Yoga class. By the time I get there, I am sometimes out of breath. Working with the cats I do, I do not know one day to the next what to expect, so even if I get up in plenty of time for Yoga, there are days I am frantically checking that clock and running. LOL (((HUGS))) Amy ❤

    1. Yes, I agree. It is a privilege to know Val, and to have had these words emerge while conversing with her. Thank you, Switters. Love, Amy ❤

    1. Where there is a will there is a way. I cannot believe how much it has been raining here. I just today was outside in between showers doing the gardening that needed addressing. With any luck, it will stop raining so that I can get the water shots I have in mind doing. 🙂 (((HUGS))) Amy ❤

  2. Oh, Lisa, Bless you!!! Thank you for your precious words. As I explained to someone else, this is actually a very deep pink. The way I edited it I really focused on the deep pink. Sending you (((HUGS))) and Much Love, Amy ❤

  3. How true these words are! Today I was talking with a friend about being still and we both sat in our chairs and stayed still and quiet for two minutes. I felt so rejuvenated! Sometimes in today’s world it’s so hard to just be quiet. Being calm and centered helps me accomplish more for sure.

    1. We all need to slow down, Laura, and really just pace ourselves. I’m married to one who is a live whirlwind who runs and runs but truly gets not too far. In comparison, I plod along, going from one thing to another, quietly, and as I do, prepare as to what next I shall do. Sometimes I think I split time itself because of how much I manage to get done in one day. Like energy attracts like energy. When you are frantic, that is what you attract. But if you remain calm and still Within, that is what you will attract.
Now truth be told, I can be found rushing like an idiot some mornings attempting to get out of here for my Yoga class. I know. Ironic. Here I am headed for a class that will calm and Center me, and beforehand, I am rushing just to get there. I do not know what the day holds for me, even if I get up in plenty of time NOT to rush.
Practicing BEing calm and centered yes, really helps tremendously. Also what helps is to immerse yourself in something that brings you into your “zone”. AKA photography, meditation, just chilling on a chair outside enjoying the view …. singing, dancing, LAUGHING … Love you, Laura! Amy ❤

Guilty as charged! lol I’m definitely practicing being mindful lately and sharing my thoughts and feelings which is something I don’t usually do. I’m not always am I successful but hey, it’s the thought that counts, right? 😉 love you too Amy! Have a great day. 😀

    1. We all need reminding, YellowCable, and I am really happy to hear you see this aspect of you that needs to pace slower. I saw this Truth a few years ago, and especially now that I practice Yoga, I apply this principal as much as I can. The clock is my worse enemy at times, when I am pressed to get out of my home at a certain time on days when unexpected things happen. Good for you for realizing this! Your Life will change for the better, I promise you! Sometimes I look back on just one day and say “But how did I do all that?” when I was not even rushing. Then there are the days I am chasing my tail and ending up completely exhausted. Two steps forward, one back at times …. (smile) Love, Amy ❤

  4. This is a great idea, to pause and reflect, use an even pace. I need to stop rushing. I am a grandmother who still feels she needs to fill up her weekends, Amy! I need to rest and relax more. Great poetic verses and such a lovely floral presentation, too. Hugs, Robin

    1. Don’t come down too hard on yourself, Robin, for I too need reminding of these words. When I do apply them, I just feel so at Peace, so Balanced, and refreshed. When I am rushing around chasing my tail, I end up frustrated, on edge, and exhausted. I am so glad you read this and you are more then welcome to print out this post to put somewhere to remind you to slow down and smell the flowers. (smile) Love you, my dear friend! Love, Amy ❤

    1. (smile) So this is your confirmation. Now put action to what you are being guided to do. BE gentle on you, for change does not happen overnight. I’ve known this for years and I still have days I rush like a madwoman!!!! Your mind will want to tell you to keep doing as you have been. When you quiet the monkeys, you then can reprogram your mind to start living a healthier Life!!! All the best, Julie! (((HUGS))) Amy ❤

  5. Amazing poem. The more we rush, the more out of control we seem. Sure, some might laugh at us being slow, but in the end, we not only get things done the way we want it done but also with passion and feeling 🙂 ❤

  6. This really is something wonderful… I just realised that probably I should spend even more time introspecting (I wish I could do that in place of the huge pile of homework -.-)

    1. Thank you SO much, Noora. Your words really mean a lot to me. Yes I do pour myself into what I do with every intention of getting at least one book published. I have other Dreams too, but for now, Petals is a Dream come True for me. (((HUGS))) Amy ❤
