    1. Thank you, my fur friend, thank you! Between gardening, cats, photography, blog, I have to now, and I will, INTEND to have TIME to frame my work. I was just looking at some photos on my wall now, that I would like to replace with my work. Care to come over to help? On second thought … no, that’s quite all right. MOL Love, Mom BonZo ❤

    1. Erika, I have been noticing these hair like structures some so tiny they are not visible with the naked eye. What are they? For what purpose do they serve? I was stunned to see these hairs on a growing Tulip. Many buds have these hairs too. Why? For what? My curiosity and wonder grow!! Love, Amy ❤

      1. Yes, I was stunning too and thought: Wow, I would have never seen those hairs with my eyes. Great that you show us the secret depth of nature! Much love to you, Amy!

    1. No, Marissa, the weight and length are still an issue. I have to really concentrate so I do not shake. I am sure that I will be using my tripod with this lens. As for ground shots, I am my own tripod. (smile) Love, Amy ❤

    1. You shocked? Me too, Amy! The difference in this lens to what I had been using, is from night to day, IMO. The acute sharpness, the details, the clarity. Amazed just amazed at what this lens is doing. I do believe I have come HOME with my macro lens, my friend. I have found exactly what will be with me for the rest of my Life. (((HUGS))) Amy ❤

    1. OH, Neihtn, I am close to tears just because I am SO happy. This lens for me is a dream come true. I also have a dream camera body in mind, but the camera I have suits me just fine. Someday, someday … and in the meantime, I do my ultimate best with this lens and with the camera body I do have. Can you imagine my photography on a full frame camera? LOL Yep, cat is out of the bag. That is my dream. For now, I PLAY, have FUN, and am SO grateful for what I DO have! (((HUGS))) Amy ❤

    1. John, this is the second time you have chosen a photo I was contemplating not showing. YOU have a Gift of confirming that I tend to be too perfectionistic, and so with that said, I will loose the reigns a bit and show with confidence images that I used to deem, as not good enough. Yes, I am having great FUN and JOY with this lens. Today I plan on finding more Treasure. (smile) I am returnig to my gardens today after taking one day off from them. Love, Amy ❤

    1. I so agree with you, Tiny. I stand in amazement at this new life coming back after one of the coldest and harshest winters of my memory. Thank you so much for your wonderful words about how I presented this new growth. Your words mean a lot to me, my friend. Love, Amy ❤

  1. You seem to have more spacial control with this lens.
    Main focus jumps out.
Some folk use a monopod to steady for free standing shots!!
Love your living your life, fully!!!!!!! ❤

    1. Michael, most of the shots I am now taking are with me on the ground, laying on my belly. My elbows are actually my tripod. I just invested a lot of money in a new tripod, and with this new lens, I am not about to jump into another expense by buying a monopod. One “crutch” is enough. I am learning through my practice of Yoga, of being steady as a rock. I have one photo coming that it took everything I have learned in Yoga in order to get the image focused and taken. Thank you for your comment. It meant a lot to me. Love, Amy ❤

      1. I’m sure you’re doing just wonderfully. Thanks for sharing the journey!!!!
Folks who shoot rifles use a technique of taking a full breath and then letting it out half way, which gives you more stability.
Love and caring back you!!! ❤

      2. I studied a type of Yoga where you practice to get to a “no breath” zone. Yogis use this to exit their bodies but still attached by the silver chord. In order for me to maintain stillness I do not breathe, which means I must be very relaxed in order to achieve a LONG moment without breathing. There are times I am so focused on what I am seeing, I forget about breath and it just happens that I don’t breathe. It’s amazing what we humans can do. Honestly! ❤

    1. Yvette, your comment flew out at me, and I said wow out loud! For you to say you can “feel” what I am photographing, means the magic I am capturing, is REAL. The colors this year are almost psychedelic, especially the greens. This new macro lens is blowing me away on its ability. All reviews said it took tack sharp images, and OH does it ever! Just incredible!!! Love, Amy ❤

      1. well I am not just saying this – but there has been a different energy to your posts lately – and I think a new lens can do that – so can much needed spring weather – and well – my pleasure and I am glad my comment brought a wow – that made MY day ❤ ❤

      2. There is more then just the new lens, my friend. I feel within myself a New Shift. My words are deeper, more profound, bolder. As for my photography, that too has changed, in of itself, more profound, bolder, deeper as well. I’ve entered a New Space, one that I am unsure of what “name” to put to it. I don’t think I will put a name to this. What is being seen on Petals is a product of my growth. Bless you for confirming for me that you actually “feel” and “see” a difference. I find myself walking through the Purification Fires right now in order to release that still within me which is about to be set free. Love you, my friend. Love, Amy ❤

  2. Hi Amy,
It’s been so long since I’ve visited your blog, or any blog for that matter. It’s so nice to be here 🙂
These macro shots are so lovely! The green of the hyacinth and the hydrangea speak so much of spring, and I’m grateful for that in that my campaign is going to keep me from spending much time in the garden.

    1. OH, Laurie, it is SO good to see you again!! I’ve missed you! I just today photographed a mini hyacinth which I will be posting soon on Petals. What I am seeing in my gardens is putting me in awe. The colors seem to glow! They are just so bright this year! Goosebumps! Sorry to hear you won’t be spending much time in your garden. Just try to come to Petals so that you can drink in the flowers over here. (((HUGS))) Amy ❤

    1. You are ever so welcome!!! You amazed me by the fact you held a Hummingbird. That to me is like holding a piece of Heaven in your hand. Just incredible! I also thank YOU for your compliment about Petals. I pour my Heart out here. (((HUGS))) Amy ❤

      1. Actually – my husband held it, I only chased the cats away and photographed the little creature. But the week before, I held another bird while it was recuperating from an encounter with glass, and it felt magically, light, sweet, filled with anxiety for her to return to life (which she did).

      2. Wow!! Then you and hubby really must have a magical connection to Mother. I only just skimmed your post so forgive me for overlooking your hubby holding the Hummingbird. Our property we have given about 2/3 of it to the wild, and in the maturing of our land over the years, our wild part has become a haven for birds. I tried for years to attract a Wren, and finally this year, we have a family of Wrens in a hand made bird house. We feed all kinds of birds and yes Hummers too. Getting back to the Wrens, I have never heard such a sweet melody from such a tiny bird in my entire life. I stand transfixed when I hear the song. Balitmore Orioles are here as well, after years of attracting them here. I must get some milkweed when I next go to the nursery for the Butterflies who come here for my Butterfly Bush. I have so many beautiful creatures come here for food and LOVE. Lavender bushes for bees … Roses for bees … flowers everwhere for bees …. and for of course the Humming birds. Oops, I got carried away. I just get so excited to meet someone who has a magic touch with nature like I do. LOL I could talk your ear off!!!! ❤

      3. I don’t mind having my ears talked off when it comes to sharing about nature. I, too, have land that is allowed to be wild, then a part that I am turning into an edible landscape, with mostly native plants. Each year, new volunteer plants show up, more birds, insects, reptiles, etc. It’s very gratifying to see it all evolve and I am grateful that we can be stewards to this beautiful place.

      4. (smile) I am seeing plants in my garden that are “new” and I am trying to figure out how to transplant, or what to do, period. I Love tending my gardens. Today I believe, now that my cats seem OK, I will go to the nursery. They may not see milkweed, I don’t know, and if they don’t, I better get my butt moving to order online. I have had dreams of having a vegetable garden, but hubby is just not up to it. We have so many critters here that we would have had to build a complete enclosure around the entire garden. If we had not, we wouldn’t have had much of a harvest. Oh well! I will stick to my flowers!!! LOL ❤
