  1. I don’t know anything about lenses, but I do know that I don’t have a steady hand, and I do hold my breath to help steady it. Great pictures! You sure you want to credit the new lens? I think it might be the photographer. 🙂

    1. You bring blushes to my cheeks. I truly LOVE what I do. When I am in that moment of capturing an image, no-thing else exists. Then when I share what I shot with you, this is my second Great Joy. Bless you for your glorious comment. It is deeply appreciated. Love, Amy >3

    1. Thank you, Neihtn! I can see why you would use a tripod with this lens. What I accomplished yesterday was far from easy. Yet, I am determined to use this lens either with a tripod or without. (((HUGS))) Amy ❤

    1. You are ever so welcome, my dear friend! Thank YOU for the wonderful commment for it means so much to me that I have been able to bring you JOY in viewing my work. I am like an eager beaver who just wants to run with this lens, yet if I do not comply with disclipline and get these gardens done, my flowers will not be happy. So I continue in all I do, bringing with me, memories of your JOY. Love, Amy ❤

    1. That one is a Rose stem bud, Richard. I could not believe that this lens actually picked up tiny hair like structures on this bud, something I have not ever previously seen. Just amazing. (((HUGS))) Amy ❤

  3. It’s so wonderful that you continue to challenge yourself. I suppose the less knowledgeable of us take foregranted everything that goes into taking a great picture. So is the main advantage of the macro the fact that it is such a sharp image? I definitely notice the details and love how you’ve countered them with some softer focuses. Good luck with your gardens!

    1. I have yet to discover all the advantages of this lens, Marissa. As I use it, I will understand its “secrets”. The tack sharpness I noticed right away. I was literally blown away. OH, I am going places with this lens this summer. Now the thought of all I will find thrills me, and brings Song to my Heart. Thank you for the “good luck”. Truthfully, I was just saying … I seem to be running out of steam today. Whew! If I can just get garden number 5 done (it is a big one!) and the start of number 6, I will be very satisfied by my progress. I will be thinking of you today while outside in the dirt. (smile) Sending you lots of Love, Amy ❤

      1. Wow, how many gardens do you have? Well, either way, lot of inspiration for photos! Can’t wait to see what the lens yields. Big surprises in store for both of us!

      2. I have a total of 20 separate gardens, Marissa. I just finished number 5 as of this writing, coming in for a bite to eat, and turn around to see if I can at least start number 6. I was just saying to myself, that it seems to be going so slow this year, yet, in stepping back, I see the vast areas I already have done. These gardens were a real mess from this winter’s blast, that and it is always tough going for me to get back into gardening. Once, I get my momentum going, I fly. (((HUGS))) Amy ❤

    1. Andy, no-thing is impossible. Make up your mind exactly what you want, and start dolng something towards that goal. It may take “time”, but if you put monies aside consistently, and hold faith in yourself that this lens you will have one day, it shall happen. I made a choice between the lower priced lens and the higher priced lens due to the many responsibilities I have in my Life. I am truly Blessed to have been able to purchase this lens. It was a long time coming. And now that I have it, I cherish it even more!! Love, Amy ❤

      1. More in progress already, Andy. I have one coming hopefully tomorrow taken free standing, a request from someone who views my work, as a progression shot, one I did of a Lilac bud. That and more …. (smile) I just came in from finishing up garden number 5, and after eating, I would like to start at least, number 6. Whew!

    1. Thank you, Erika. It is the Ferray of lenses, my friend. I actually have an “old” camera, but the way this thing keeps on going, and what I can do with it, my camera will be staying with me for a long time to come. Bless you for the comment. It meant a lot to me. Love, Amy ❤

    1. You are so welcome, Shauna. My Gratitude runs over, believe me. I am so excited to see what this lens and I together can do. And the Beauty of it is, I have Petals to share my Gift with you. If it were not for Petals, much of my JOY would not be alive as it is today. Every image I take I can hardly wait to show you and all who come here. I feel like a kid when I have my camera in my hand. LOL Love, Amy ❤

    1. Amy, yours is the last comment I am responding to before I step back into my gardens. All of my Macro photography has been hand held, without IS, and in manual focus. The challenge in this lens is that it is so heavy and much longer, both factors making it much more difficult to maintain complete steadiness. I am thrilled you saw this post, for it represents ground breaking history at Petals, and in my Life as well. I hope to get the remaining 5 images to this series up tomorrow. For now, I have about 5-6 hours of work ahead of me, and today, I am feeling it. I am hoping once I get going, my body will perk up. Sending Much Love to you this day, my friend, and deep appreciation for your continual support of me. Both I am so grateful for. Love, Amy ❤

    1. Thank you, Laine. Yoga is only an aspect of Life as I know it to be. I’ve really been conscious of breath lately as I breathe Life and create in the Moment. My frame of mind, my attitudes and actions, my choices, my commitment to being Happy in Heart … oh yes, these and more equate to my JOY. Yoga truly has become the foundation of my Life in so many ways. (((HUGS))) Amy ❤

    1. Oh, Sue!!! This lens is a dream come true for me! The detail I am now seeing is blowing me away. I thought my first macro lens was good, but in comparison, it doesn’t even come near. I am going to have SO much fun with this lens this year, I feel like a kid again. I am seeing these hair like structures on a lot of the tiny growth and it has made me curious as to what I am seeing and for what purpose these hairs serve. Even on the tulip I shot, I saw these hairs. Just amazing …. and some are so small they are not see with the naked eye. Wow!! Love, Amy ❤

    1. I am thrilled with this new lens, Laura. The only drawback it is so much heavier then my 60mm macro. I have to build up more strength in my hands, wrists and fingers, which is exactly what I am doing in my gardens. GRIN! Love, Amy ❤

    1. Kathy, this new lens is really giving me a Gift beyond anything I have dreamed of. It is powerful and so sharp, that what I am now capturing and how I am doing it, is something that leaves me in awe. I am so fortunate to be able to be doing this. Oh yes, I chose to do photogrpahy and stick with it, yet, what is transpiring is beyond anything I foresaw. I am in heaven. SO good to have you back! Please pace yourself. I promise if you do. (Smile) Love, Amy🌹💞🌹
