  1. Wow! That mist is amazing Amy! All of that snow and ice is incomprehensible to me. I can’t even imagine, well, I can now that you shared these images with us. 🙂 Thank you for enduring the cold, ice, and risking your LIFE for us! hehehe I really do appreciate it. They are amazing shots. Spikes in your tripod? I didn’t know they even HAD spikes!

    1. YAY, yes I did risk my LIFE just for YOU, Ms. Laura, how about that? LOL I had hubby my bodyguard to make sure I was danger free, and joke I don’t. Yep, spikes I do have in my cheap tripod, believe it or not, but my NEW one that arrived today, nope, no spikes. Again, I really thank you for the head tip, because I LOVE this already. It is so simple to use, and me? I LOVE simple! I am just so glad you are enjoying this series, and I am really relieved I have only ONE more post to do. I’m whipped!!! Hehehehehehe (((HUGS))) Amy

      1. Thank you, Laura. This thing is SO huge compared to my rinky dinky one! OMG! I can’t wait to use it! I have a bag for it too, which reminds me of a golf bag, hehehehehe. Still NOT finished with those um glorious NF pics. OH! That red pigment has followed me all the way to the end. Grrrrrr …… I’m learning lots though. GRIN!!! Love, Amy

      2. Haha the bag….I k ow exactly what you mean. My 14-24 2.8 lens came with a heavy duty bag. I was like…what is that for? I’ve never had such a fancy lens case! Have a good evening sans the red pigment! lol

      3. It should be up tomorrow, Laura. I am working on putting the post together today. When you see what I am about to show you, the understanding on your part will come when I say, I could have photographed these Falls for many more an hour. If it were not for hubby’s frozen fingers, I would have. Hope you are having a good weekend!!! (((HUGS))) Amy

      5. Am having a very quiet weekend, Laura, attempting to figure out where to go from here. My stock of flowers has been depleted, and I refuse to shoot any more snow. All the flowers I had ready to get me to Spring, I lost last October. I am very happy you are feeling better and going to the ballet. I too love the ballet!! (((HUGS))) Amy

      7. I tried to leave a comment but I was unable to. LOL I am not too handy with FB but I did send you a friend request. That photo is hysterical (not of you) and now I SEE you! You look wonderful, Laura, even for being “sick”. I have a smile on my face as I write this …..

      8. Count your Blessings your hubby knows how to laugh. He reminds me of one of my brothers who has a zanny sense of humor like he does. LOL Lucky you!!! Hehehehehe

      9. At least you know how. Mine is so busy focusing on doom and gloom that when I do laugh, he gets angry at me. Really? *sighs* So I have learned to be silly here on WP and with my cats. Every blue moon, the “real hubby” is seen and does laugh. He can be really funny when he wants to be. When he laughs, he does so hard, that tears come to his eyes. Yep, sure do! Life beat this guy up (well, life has done that to me too so? the point? hehehehehe) and he is just really not willing to do light. Like I said, count your Blessings!!! (((HUGS))) Amy

      10. I do have to count my blessings. It’s easy to look at the dark side. My hubby has so many great qualities, I try to just focus on those. And yes! We can be silly here. Although yesterday I was singing Queen’s Bohemian Rhapsody on the way over to the ballet, playing air drums and air guitar. 🙂

  2. Those are such breathtaking photos! The human showed then to the Creature – and she wants to “climb the waterfall!” The human had been trying to explain why that isn’t possible – the Creature just doesn’t get it – *Snickers*😹

    1. Shrimp, I am LAUGHING so hard it is NOT funny! Just what I needed to get me going to return to the darkroom. The Creature climbing the waterfalls. OH too funny! I’m *snickering* with you! Hehehehehehehehehe Love, MB

      2. With your input, I’m sure she comes up with some pretty wild ideas to satisfy this curiosity feature that the Creature does show. Just picturing the WHY’s (dear me I was one of those and still am …. oops, sorry human) and the nonstop onslaught of questions …. no wonder your poor human falls asleep without brushing you sometimes or paying you attention. Poor Shrimp. That Creature is truly hazardous to your health! Poor baby!!!! (((HUGS))) Mom BonZo

  6. Always great to see the woman behind the photos. Oh, you do look a bit miserable, but who wouldn’t in all that cold? What great photos too. Don’t you know, the red pigment doesn’t bother me at all, a ghost like view, an inverted rainbow…either way, just so majestic, nothing could distract from that!!

    1. Now was I not brave to let everyone see my miserable face? LOL I really did have a smile on my face but hubby decided to snap BEFORE the smile formed. LOL Marissa, in all seriousness, your comments have been truly inspiring for me to push through in order to finish this series. I have 2 more images in my primary editing room to edit, then from there, the entire set is sent over to my Apple to continue with the editing process. Then, from there I will put together a post, and with this one, a very funny story how my journey came to an end. I’m a bit frazzled, beat a roony, yet, have learned SO much it aint even funny. Out of all the wrong that happened, stood in disguise Pearls of Great Value for me to humbly embrace. One incredible journey, that is all I can say. And I am sure most everyone will be glad to go back to seeing my flowers again. LOL (((HUGS))) Amy

      1. Yes, I noticed the flower you posted today once again with that effect I love so much (ha, still can’t remember what it’s called). I notice you closed comments but here I am commenting anyway…see how I’m sneaky like that?!! Anyway, I’m so glad this has been a journey for you in every way and that you’ve learned so much! I’m excited to see the finale of the series. As for the smile, yes, I am often caught looking miserable. Just happens sometimes!!

      2. LOL Hehehehehe It is called Tangled FX. Yes, I do see how sneaky you are and here I am still replying anyway. Hehehehehe I’m DONE! The editing is DONE, Marissa!!! Oh my heavens! Will you come over now and rub my neck? Now all I have to do is write up the post that I have in mind, get all the photos organized so they are seen in a certain order, but that ALL will wait until tomorrow. NOW? I am OFF of here and on my way to a HOT shower to rid me of all these aches, and then to ahhhhhhhh …… bed. I am getting excited about you seeing my finale. When I was finally relaxing and getting into my zone with the American Falls, hubby could not take his cold fingers any longer. I could have stayed for hours. When you SEE what I captured, you will understand why. *sighs* How about if I turn around and go back just to photograph the Amercian Falls from the Canadian side? It’s tempting! But that would mean I couldn’t blog again, and I MISS YOU GUYS!!!! Besides, I am SO beat. Decisions …. *bitiing nails* …… *sigh*

      3. Sending remote neck rubs your way. And Amy, you know how I excited I am to see your work too. So, trying to understand…you mean if you went to the Canadian side you would need to take time off blogging to make time for the trip? If that’s the case, of course totally up to you, but maybe something to plan for the spring or even summer. You seem like you could use a break!! LOL

      4. You are so totally right, Marissa. I do need a break. Really. If I keep pushing myself at the rate I have been going, there will be a fallout. No, enough Falls for now. The editing alone has been hair pulling. I plan on having FUN this weekend and photograph these beautiful flowers I bought yesterday. This should prove interesting as I think of different backgrounds to use. LOL (((HUGS))) Amy

  7. You are beautiful Amy, inside and outside. So cute all bundled up like that, makes me wonder how you were able to walk. Hubby’s perspective makes me giggle, but also puts a lump in my throat, because he shows us that you are his favorite subject to photograph. What a wonderful tribute to you from a loving man. He has such talent, but should learn darkroom skills. What can you do though–he’s only a man who loves a super woman. The photos of the falls are terrific and show talent as well as the photos of you show his talent. I love the way he chooses his subjects though. Did I say that before? I’ll say it again. I love how he chooses his favorite photographic subject. Smile girl, he loves you as much as we all do. And believe me, we love you. You deserve that rest after the last group of photos is posted, but please don’t leave us for too long. Love and hugs, Angie

    1. Keep in mind how bundled up I was when I tell a very funny story how our trip ended. LOL Another “stressful” situation but I have put a humorous slant on it. I know I am Loved, Angie, by those who are in my Life now. For this, there is no greater Gift, in my opinion. Yes, that man is dangerous with a camera in hand, for I never know when he is going to snap a pic of me. LOL I AM smiling now, my friend! I also agree hubby needs to learn how to edit his own photos. *sighs* Men. Need I say more? Hhehehehehe Love, Amy

  9. So nice to see you in Hub’s eye view!! You put so much pressure on yourself, wanted everything be perfect, but in life very few things are… BUT your yellow MF flower is. Perfection!! TeeHee…I got my praise in here for you, Amazing Amy! Hugs!

    1. Tiny, I really did put a lot of pressue on myself. I honestly didn’t see it but your words made me nod my head saying, “Yep, I sure did.” I am more spur of the moment, BEing in the NOW, winging it type of person. Yes, the planning of the trip was fun, because it enabled us to know exactly where we were going. When we got there two things happened: I “froze” (no pun intended) just so overwhelmed, feeling there was just no way I could really do this, and two, hubby, who is a Vietnam Vet was on “red alert” meaning he was expecting an enemy around every corner, in every person. This is what PTSD and terriorism has done to this man. I being the sensitive I am, felt his acute anxiety and because I felt so out of my element, instead of letting it slide off of me, as I normally do when this happens, I got all stresed out. Many more stories are within this photo shoot that I opted not to tell … the ones I did portray were enough. My final story, even though again stressful *sigh* I am putting a humourous slant on it, so expect to laugh. You are right. Not much in Life is perfect EXCEPT for when I am behind my camera in my ZONE. When I finally started to photograph the American Falls, I began to fall into my Zone and relax. That is when hubby said he could not take the cold anymore so we had to leave. *another sigh* Yep, true. So the shots I did get from the American Falls (final post) please keep in mind, I could have been there for hours. Instead I only was able to have a very brief time with them. The images I obtained are pretty amazing. I’m working on them now. LOL Hope things in the salt marsh are well and good. I so look forward to getting back into my blogging routine when I am finished with my Niagara Falls Series. (((HUGS))) and so Much Love, Amy

  12. Amy I absolutely LOVED these images.. you have no idea… I showed them to my Hubby.. We were stood in almost that exact same spot in May 2000.. we went for our 25th Wedding Anniversary and stayed 3 nights in Niagara Falls before we moved on across Canada…
And So these pictures are very special, One because they are brilliant… and two because in a way it brings our connection that much closer.. Love and Hugs my dear friend, and enjoy your Weekend xxx ❤ Love Sue

    1. Dearest Friend, how incredible that the photo of me is taken in just about the same place as where you and your hubby stood when celebrating your 25th Wedding Anniversary! Now how special is that! I’m sure you both were smiling which now makes me smile! Niagara Falls is spectacular and I am thrilled you enjoyed them first hand, and that you are enjoying them through my eyes and camera … as well as hubby’s. I am enjoying my weekend, thank you, Sue, as I hope you are too. I shall be returning to my regular station next week … LOL …. blogging … so I will be over to see you. This project was demanding, and THE most challenging yet of my photography career. I will be overjoyed to go back to my flowers … GRIN! I just bought a bouquet of them ready for me to take pics of. My “stock” of flowers almost got Petals to Spring. I have a few more in my archives, but really not enough until I see my bulbs bloom. Sending Much Love to you this day, Amy

      1. Yes your photo’s brought us both back happy memories Amy.. the building too in the background has some grass in front of it.. There is also a restaurant which had an open top tabled balcony view .. We didn’t know, but we had a meal, and sat right at the edge so we could get a look of the coloured floodlit view of the falls.. It happened to be a Friday night.. And there was a Huge Spectacular firework display.. Something so grand I had never seen the like in real life.. There was a band playing on the grass.. and Limo’s would be pulling up all the time in front of the falls..
Yes Amy.. your photo’s brought back LOTS of JOY.. Thank you xx and HUGS xxx

about dust getting on the camera sensor, i am surprised to hear you have such a problem with it. dslrs should be less effected as its mirror helps to shield the sensor. … try keeping your camera’s mount facing down and shield oncoming wind/draft with your body when changing lens, in my experience it helps considerably with my mirrorless cameras.
        best regards,

  13. Your mistakes, AKA red lines, are so evenly spaced I would say it is on your image recorder in the camera.
Probably with help from atmospherics!!! Google “does anyone ever get these lines on this camera”. if it happened to you it has happen before I’m sure!!! Keep on keepin on!!!!

    Liked by 1 person

    1. I know not what red lines you are referring to, Michael, for my eyes see red noise. It is not only on my photos I saw this. I also saw it on hubby’s images, even a black and white one, imagine that! I have not run into this phenomenon before Niagara Falls, so I know that what happened with my camera at the Falls, is not my camera at all, but in reality, saturated red pigment either being reflected or in the air itself at NF. Truly amazing.

Amazing due it being 12 degrees and we were outside for about 3 hours. Yes, you do have a face with a name on it now. SMILE! I have several of me on Petals that hubby took where I really am smiling or giving him THE LOOK. Hehehehehe Hmmmm … I was SO tense and SO stressed out from this trip …. just take my word for it, I was. I have ONE more post coming that will complete my saga of Niagara Falls, but I am waiting until I feel up to it. Between the trip and all the hours of non-stop editing I did, my energy got zapped. In order for me to step back into blogging, I really need rest. So, that is what I am doing. This week for sure that post will be up. Promise.
