    1. Thank you so much, Celia, and I am truly humbled that such a great photographer as yourself reblogged this post. For this reason I use manual focus when I do my macros. To be able to get the exact focal point with the correct f-stop is a joy to behold when I can get a shot like this. Then I must control my breath and hands so I don’t shake … my finger flew on this one when I saw my opportunity. THIS is what makes all the sweat and grunts worth it when someone says WOW! LOL (((HUGS))) Amy

    1. I’m in awe too. How did I get this shot being in such a “rush” to photograph as many flowers in the nursery I was in, trying to get my flower stock back up? Manual focus is unbelievable as it allows me to focus in exactly where I want my point of focus to be. Then I have to keep my hands and breath steady … nothing to it. LOL (((HUGS))) Amy

    1. I do not like bursting your bubble, but those are not bugs. LOL It is part of this plant, whatever it is, and it has begun to bud out, I think. I have NO idea what type of plant this is … I was madly rushing around getting images because I lost the ones I had on my external HD when I dropped it. Interesting meal? Too funny! Another poster, Shrimp, (do you know her) is a “cat” and she is licking her chops at the site of these bugs. Too funny!!!! Yes, we do have FUN don’t we? (((HUGS))) Amy

      2. I shot almost “blind” today in snow, with fogged up glasses through which I could see nothing, and just going by shapes and “feeling”. I have a post coming of ice and water falls that I shot today. I am working on that post right now. GRIN! How I did this, I do not know. Sorry to hear your eyes are going. That really stinks. I treasure my eyes, for without them, I would not be able to do my Love of my Life … photography. (((HUGS))) Amy

    1. Truth be told I amaze me. This is one very good example why I like manual focus when I do macro photography. It is exact regarding point of focus. It also depends what F-stop you are using …. and the fact to still the hands and breath so you don’t shake when you take the pic!!! Thank you SO much for commenting, Doc. Means a lot to me!!!     1. For this reason I use manual focus and really concentrate of f-stops. This came out beyond my expectations, Laura. In fact, I honestly thought it would not bring that much attention because it was not a pretty flower. I thought wrong. (smile) Thank you for the wonderful comment. (((HUGS))) Amy

  18. I love this Amy. In reading the comments (with my bad vision also) I saw that what I thought were bees are not, so that makes it doubly great. You didn’t risk getting stung for the sake of art, and that is always a good thing, although I also understand risking all for the sake of art. To me this looks like a wheat head, but again, I’m also waiting for my new glasses so I can see clearly again. Cleaning these might help also, but they seem to attract dust. Love you Amy, Angie

    1. The black “things” were a part of this plant, having no idea what this plant is. No bugs. I saw this, and OH I wanted to get a shot just like the one you viewed. The f-stop was perfect, the lighting, the background, and my hands did not shake either. I am thrilled you enjoyed this, Angie. I Love you too!! (((HUGS))) Amy

    1. Aw, shucks, Linda. Thank you! This is a prime example why I shoot in manual focus when I do macro. I remember being SO intense with this shot, determined to bring into perfect clarity, right where I had the point of focus. I am SO happy you enjoyed this. (((HUGS))) Amy

    1. Yes, I do find my comfort and healing with my camera, so with this newfound pain that nestles in my Heart, missing my Dad, and now with my Dad as another angel who assists me, my photography will even be better. How? That I don’t know. We all will just have to wait and see. (((HUGS))) Amy
