Thank you so much, Celia, and I am truly humbled that such a great photographer as yourself reblogged this post. For this reason I use manual focus when I do my macros. To be able to get the exact focal point with the correct f-stop is a joy to behold when I can get a shot like this. Then I must control my breath and hands so I don’t shake … my finger flew on this one when I saw my opportunity. THIS is what makes all the sweat and grunts worth it when someone says WOW! LOL (((HUGS))) Amy
I’m in awe too. How did I get this shot being in such a “rush” to photograph as many flowers in the nursery I was in, trying to get my flower stock back up? Manual focus is unbelievable as it allows me to focus in exactly where I want my point of focus to be. Then I have to keep my hands and breath steady … nothing to it. LOL (((HUGS))) Amy
Interesting meal, Amy. Those little ants/bees? (I am still waiting for my new glasses to arrive) look like happy little campers. Wait til Oscar sees this. He will be over here on your blog eating YOUR flowers. 🙂
I do not like bursting your bubble, but those are not bugs. LOL It is part of this plant, whatever it is, and it has begun to bud out, I think. I have NO idea what type of plant this is … I was madly rushing around getting images because I lost the ones I had on my external HD when I dropped it. Interesting meal? Too funny! Another poster, Shrimp, (do you know her) is a “cat” and she is licking her chops at the site of these bugs. Too funny!!!! Yes, we do have FUN don’t we? (((HUGS))) Amy
I shot almost “blind” today in snow, with fogged up glasses through which I could see nothing, and just going by shapes and “feeling”. I have a post coming of ice and water falls that I shot today. I am working on that post right now. GRIN! How I did this, I do not know. Sorry to hear your eyes are going. That really stinks. I treasure my eyes, for without them, I would not be able to do my Love of my Life … photography. (((HUGS))) Amy
Truth be told I amaze me. This is one very good example why I like manual focus when I do macro photography. It is exact regarding point of focus. It also depends what F-stop you are using …. and the fact to still the hands and breath so you don’t shake when you take the pic!!! Thank you SO much for commenting, Doc. Means a lot to me!!! (((HUGS))) Amy
No bees. No bugs. Just a part of the plant. I have NO idea what this plant even is, but when I saw the black, I just had to have that super sharp in focus. And I did it!! LOL (((HUGS))) Amy
Thank you, Melissa. Thank you so much for your continued support. I am so happy you enjoy Petals and you had fun with what I did yesterday. I will have to come up with some more guessing games. Hmmmm …. (((HUGS))) Amy
For this reason I use manual focus and really concentrate of f-stops. This came out beyond my expectations, Laura. In fact, I honestly thought it would not bring that much attention because it was not a pretty flower. I thought wrong. (smile) Thank you for the wonderful comment. (((HUGS))) Amy
Sorry, Shrimpee, but those are NOT bugs. So sorry my friend. Those a part of this plant. Oops. Here you got all excited … and I have to be the bad guy. *DANG!* Love you hoping you still Love me, MB
Thank you, Niki. I am deeply grateful to you, as I am going through coming to terms saying goodbye to my Dad. *lump in throat* Bless you, my friend. (((HUGS))) Amy
Oh, Niki, thank you! *tears* I pray he leaves tonight. I SKYPED today to tell him goodbye. Docs still are not giving him enough pain medication … Don’t even get me going about doctors right now …. *deep breath* xo
I love this Amy. In reading the comments (with my bad vision also) I saw that what I thought were bees are not, so that makes it doubly great. You didn’t risk getting stung for the sake of art, and that is always a good thing, although I also understand risking all for the sake of art. To me this looks like a wheat head, but again, I’m also waiting for my new glasses so I can see clearly again. Cleaning these might help also, but they seem to attract dust. Love you Amy, Angie
The black “things” were a part of this plant, having no idea what this plant is. No bugs. I saw this, and OH I wanted to get a shot just like the one you viewed. The f-stop was perfect, the lighting, the background, and my hands did not shake either. I am thrilled you enjoyed this, Angie. I Love you too!! (((HUGS))) Amy
Aw, shucks, Linda. Thank you! This is a prime example why I shoot in manual focus when I do macro. I remember being SO intense with this shot, determined to bring into perfect clarity, right where I had the point of focus. I am SO happy you enjoyed this. (((HUGS))) Amy
Life is a school. It is up to each of us if we pass or fail. (smile) And we ourselves are not only the student, but the teacher as well. How is that for a thought? LOL (((HUGS))) Amy
Dear Amy I saw in your comments that your Dad is passing, I send huge huge big hugs and love of the deepest kind to your heart my friend. Praying that all find peace in the connection to his heart, where love lasts forever.
Your photos bring us closer to heaven on earth my friend. We are blessed Robyn
Sending good vibes for ease of passage of your Father and courage and strength and comfort for you. I know you find your comfort from behind your camera lens and TY for sharing the beauty you find.
Hugs
Yes, I do find my comfort and healing with my camera, so with this newfound pain that nestles in my Heart, missing my Dad, and now with my Dad as another angel who assists me, my photography will even be better. How? That I don’t know. We all will just have to wait and see. (((HUGS))) Amy
I understand how one feels to miss father. what a big loss ! you are right he’s an angel in disguise for you. he will love you help you guide you unseen unheard untouched–but he’ll be there always. your photographs are awesome. wish heaven for your father up above and heaven here on earth for you amen
Bless you for your kindness, my friend. This journey is quite difficult at this time. I am so touched by your heartfelt words. Thank you. (((HUGS))) Amy
The delicacy of your photograph has left me somewhat in awe, every pixel is perfect, and the care you took with it stands out beautifully. Thanks for sharing.
Oh, David, I am stunned by your words to me. Yes I really worked a while on this image in the editing room to bring to the forefront all of its beautiful qualities. Bless you for taking the time to comment and to leave such a Glow in my Heart. (((HUGS))) Amy
