Those Calamitous Times

  1. Oh my goodness, it’s so sad when something like that happens to our small businesses.I hope they pull through. I do love the pic though, the subtle tones with that bright red in the background and the fuzzy fade outs.

    1. They are pulling through, Marissa. The state has stepped in to pay for damages. They also have refused to bow to this disaster and it is business as usual. (((HUGS))) Amy

    1. Dan, the state has stepped in and is paying for the damages. This amazing couple refuse to be deterred and it is business as usual. When my husband went to pick up some food yesterday, their front windows are still boarded up. (((HUGS))) Amy

    1. I so agree with you, Linda. When I heard this story I just had to attach it to the post I was about to post. Yes, God really does work in mysterious ways, even in the “timing” of me hearing this story. Love, Amy

    1. Sometimes, Kathy, it really does pay to sleep in. This couple are so nice and so hard working and for this to happen to them, is heart breaking. Yet, they live because of a “guidance” to sleep 15 more minutes. That is amazing!!!! (((HUGS))) Amy

  2. I see something like that and can never understand why people don’t believe in modern-day miracles. God Bless Amy. We’ll read you later.

    1. I believe, David, and I believe God truly did guide this couple to stay in bed for an extra 15 minutes. These people are SO nice and SO hard working …. Angels really looked out for them that day! Love, Amy

    1. Amy, I am so grateful to you that you keep viewing my work and that when I see how it touches your Heart, my Heart in turn smiles. Yes, thank God this couple is all right. They are back to working and the customers have not stopped coming. If anyone deserves to succeed, these two people do!! Bless YOU for encouraging me. The stress of the storm has caught up and I am so very very tired right now. I am not up to blogging, just answering a few comments. BIG (((HUGS))) Amy

      2. Oh, Sweeties, IF you knew how tired MB is right now …. sleep is what she has been doing! That big bad storm caught up to her. 3. It’s in the slowing down, one realizes how tired that one is. I’ve rested and I’ve slept, and I have made up the posts for this coming week. I just came back from a very cold short photo shoot with hubs, who was using my camera, and I my iPad. He doesn’t know it but he is now practicing for the new camera that I bought him for his birthday. I really hope he uses it. (((HUGS))) Amy

      4. I just viewed some of the photos he took and MAN his eye is outstanding! He wanted to shoot in black and white. Yep, I will be posting HIS work soon, and a pic I got of him with my iPad as he was shooting. He just picked up my camera, that he knows nothing about (I taught him the basics in 5 minutes) and he took it from there. To get this man excited about LIFE …. keep your paws crossed! His camera is coming tomorrow and I also bought me a new camera to use instead of my iPad, a Samsung Galaxy camera 2. It is like an iPhone camera without the iPhone. My early Christmas present from Santa …. Hehehehehehe ….. Cross paws hubs is OK with my early present. I’ve got the jingle spirit this year!! (((HUGS))) MB

      5. That’s PAWSOME! Your hubby seems to be a natural born photographer. Just like you. 🙂 So cool! We can’t wait to see the pics he took! And wow! You must have been a REAL GOOD girl this year for Santa to bring you an early present… 😉 MOL Enjoy, sweetie! And don’t you worry. We’re sure your hubby will love his present. 6. Yes, MB says humbly …. I’ve been a very good girl. And my iPad is so heavy and cumbersome to use, plus when it is cold I have to have bare hands. So the quick and easy shots are going to get way easier. Santa found both cameras on a site at a good price. This week should prove to be interesting …. pre-birthday shots of what hubs shot today and the actual birthday. Depending on when I can edit these images, will determine when these posts go up. They will!!! GRIN! I’m officially not clocked on for blogging you know …. I’m cheating with you. MOL I’ve missed YOU! But I needed the break! MOL xx MB

  5. A beautiful photo. I love your poem and that story is amazing. I also saw that two boys were also covered up by snow ploughs and survived for several hours under the snow. Someone is definitely watching over Buffalo that day. 😀

    1. Oh, wow, Raewyn, I have goosebumps!! Our prayers went a lot further then any one of us know! I am so relieved they lived, because believe me, when that snow strikes, it is like an avalanche. I am still covered in goosebumps. Love, Amy

    1. Melissa, the state has stepped in to pay for damages, and they have business up and going as usual. They have very loyal customers and they have not stopped coming. These two people are so good and work so hard and their food is SO good …. everything made from scratch …. I wonder why something like this happened at all. Much GOOD must be coming out of this, and the most important GOOD, these people lived because they decided to sleep in for 15 minutes more. Goosebumps!! Love, Amy
