Any of you relate? You know, those days when unexpected teeth gnashing circumstances come a-knocking on your Life? Well, I am having one of those days. I knew at 5am this morning, sh*t was about to happen.
Six am another MESS! Seven am NOOOOOO! Eight am GEEZE AGAIN? Nine am the BIG KABOOM! I began to sweat. This is NOT the way I had my day planned. Not in the least. Ego over spirit tugged back and fro. Would I have a tantrum? Or would I say, “Not a problem”.
I stood toe to toe with my husband, explicity saying, you see the MESSES I have on my day and I refuse to get upset. I’m dealing with it. I’m rearranging my day. I told him I have two choices …. act like a two year old and make a fuss, or keep my chin up and just clean up the messes with a smile on my face.
I was doing well. The day was planned. I was looking forward to the arrival of my new laptop today. It came. BIG DRUMROLL PLEASE. Another mess. Yep! My OS is Windows 7 Professional, and all the recovery disks that came included with my laptop are all for Windows 8. *sighs*
To do things in the correct order, it is best to back up everything as is before you put anything on a new computer. I really don’t understand this mentality, because if you have the recovery disks, you don’t have to back anything up. But, this is what IS according to hubs, and I am not about to hassle with him, I who am a babe in the woods when it comes to puters. Or perhaps it is I who misunderstand and we are only waiting for the correct recovery disks to arrive.
So, hubs made phone calls and the correct recovery DVD’s are on their way. Interrpretation? I have to WAIT until they arrive before I start playing with my new toy. *another sigh* Just to insure we do receive the correct disks, I wait for them to arrive. And if any of you don’t understand that, have you taken a good look around at this world’s idea of quality? Better to be safe then to be sorry.
NO fuss. No tantrum. Just simple acceptance that I will just have to wait a few days before I can use my new laptop. No problem. Now, IF I had gotten upset by ALL that has transpired in my day today, I would be exhausted, and miserable as well. I’m not. I have a smile on my face, patiently plowing through each mess on my schedule, and patiently waiting to use my new laptop.
Just goes to show you that even LadyP has “those” days. And as for Sassy (the cat in the image) she just says, “Chill, all will work out!” Hope all of you are having a good day. I’m going back to clean up messes so that I can finally arrive at the place I intended to be today …. planting my Tulip bulbs.

LOL Val. I’m cleaning up messes from both ends of cats. The Royal Mess was from Karma (of course he is my King) who threw up all over hubs’ bed and hubs too. Tee hee ….. Everything including hubs had to be washed. Still washing in fact ….. Whew! Poor Karma has a really sensitive stomach and sometimes when he eats to fast he upchucks. All is under control at the moment. 🙂 (((HUGS))) Amy

In this case, I have to agree with your husband. The recovery disk only recover the OS not thing else. If some thing happen then it can be more than just the OS.
LikeLike
Well, right now there is nothing to recover except for the OS. I asked hubs why we are waiting and it is because he wants to make sure we get the right recovery DVD’s. YellowCable, the nightmares I have seen and experienced regarding quality and in computers, have me very very cautious now. It seems the puter of choice among so many photographers is Mac, but because of the issues I have had with my iPad, I no longer trust this company. So I bought Windows …. and a darn good laptop at that. Love, Amy

IMHO, I have seen both Mac or Window machines have problems one way or the other. In this regard, I do not see the different. If you start using the computer now and if (a big IF) a bad thing happen before you have anything fully backup then you are at lost again. I think your husband does not want that to happen to you 🙂

Seems Tuesday was a day to exercise patience and restraint.. Ditto… As i dropped the washing powder all over the kitchen floor… I laughed and thought thats one lesson in patience.. Then I dropped an item of clothing while pegging out and it got all dirty again from the soil the worms had chewed up on the lawn 🙂 Lesson 2.. I sighed laughed again and went inside to rinse it off.. Later that morning I had potted up some plants to bring indoors before the frost got to them… I proudly placed them in my spare bedroom window then adjusted the curtain.. Yep! you guessed it Bang wallop.. a pot fell to the floor.. soil all over.. This time I doubled up laughing out loud so hard that hubby came to see what I had done..
Seems I needed a lesson in patience on Tuesday. 🙂 All we can do some times is just smile.. 🙂
Hope your week has got better and BETTER 🙂

Yay Windows 7! I was so sad to hear they are discontinuing Windows 7 services. It’s like they are forcing us to use Windows 8!!! YUCK! I refuse, lol. I hope you did get a chance to rest. I’m doing wonderful, the boyfriend and I are back in Washington now and we are chilling on the beach. When I say chilling I really do mean it’s 36 degrees outside.
