    1. Sure can!!! I truly am dazzled by all I learned and as well, my brand new state of the art laptop. I no longer will have to gnash my teeth at slowness and ineptitude when it comes to me editing my photographs as I have done now for a LONG time on my dinosaur of the laptop I now have. LOL Love, Amy

  1. I think you have made a fine choice for the laptop. By the way, I would also suggest have good plan for backup so you do not lost all of the photos. I just wanted to mention this in case that you do not already know it.

    1. Thank you, YellowCable!! And yes, I have already decided on a flash drive (SSD) for a back up. As to which brand, I have yet to decide on that. No more HD. I don’t trust them and due to my extreme experience, I won’t use them anymore. I’m tossing around iDrive as well for a backup. Choosing a backup is next, my friend. I’m getting all my ducks in a row, so to speak. LOL Love, Amy

  2. I am so happy you got your new laptop and I am happy the specs mean something to you and that you can understand them.
I am happy we are going to continue seeing your beautiful photography.
Love the word dazzle and it fits so many meanings.
Razzle dazzle for something bright and exciting and fizzle dazzle for something about to put me over the edge.
With you permission I will adopt the use of this new word dazzle.
I do not buy anything unless it says apple on it. I am an apple user imac, iPad air 2 and iPhone 6.
This is just my preference and not saying everyone else needs to stop using pc and get a mac, it is just my preference.
In my house hold the dudes have theirs and I have mine and they can go play with theirs and leave mine alone.

    1. Sunset, I found out the hard way that IF I don’t understand technology I will be at the mercy of those who will lie, cheat and steal from me. After the hassles I’ve been through with Apple, I will no longer give them anything as in money. And my NEW word is RAZZLE. Almost like frazzle without the “f”. Dazzle is already in the dictionary, hehehehehe. Yes, my man has his own toys but since this is a NEW one he will have to put his hands all over it. I’ll give him a day or two. I have waited this long, what is one more day? Have a great weekend!!! Love, Amy

  3. Hmmm… the way we see it, the only chance of getting your laptop back is by buying your hubby a new, even more exciting toy to play with… like a sports car or a yacht or a private jet… 😉 MOL 😆

Happy weekend, dear Mom BonZo! And congrats on your new toy! Have fun! We look forward to more beautiful pictures… 😀 xx Roxy & Tigerlino a.k.a. #thesillykitties 😉

    1. You’re right of course. I must come up with a plan to entice hubby away from MY new laptop. Hmmmmm ….. *wishing for the bucks to buy a souped up sports car* …. I have until Tuesday to come up with a scheme, I mean plan, so that I will have access to my laptop. Great thought, guys!! Now you’ve got my brain going!!! (((HUGS)))MB

  4. So happy for you Amy!!! Looks like a good laptop. I have had Windows 7 Professional the last few years and really happy with it. Now we will see your pictures and lightning speed. As far as hubby playing with the new toy don’t have any suggestions. Have the same problem at times 🙂

    1. Tee hee ….. men and their toys. I’ve already stipulated no more then one day to play. Just in case I have 5 out of 6 photos finished that are coming next week. So I played it safe. Kathy, I have SO much to study … learn PS CC, learn the full Lightroom 5. The books I have are THICK. My plan is to put on my new laptop the PS Elements program I am using now, and stay with the iPad apps I am working with now as I ease into the new programs. There is one app called PS Touch that the tutorial itself is mind boggling. OH baby! This winter I shall be in school! LOL (((HUGS))) Amy

      1. Good idea on the one day stipulation 🙂 I also think it’s a good idea to put the PS Elements that you are comfortable with as you learn the new stuff. Sounds like you will be busy this winter and will look forward to seeing all that you do with the pictures. Your already Fantastic. We are not too old to learn!! HUGS ♥

      2. Never are we too old to learn, Kathy. I have THICK books to understand PS and LR, plus I do use the Elements and two apps on my iPad and will continue to do so until I am comfortable with the NEW. I also am planning on shooting during the winter, Kath. Now, this may be very challenging because my AF is not working and to expose my hands for long periods of time in the cold …. that won’t be easy. I have to find a very warm pair of gloves that form fit the fingers, but will keep them very warm. Perhaps Santa will get me a new camera. I am very nervous about anyone touching my camera to fix it. I’ve learned the hard way that these companies want you to buy new, and will do whatever they can to make sure you do. My camera is a Canon 50D, which is no longer sold. It is a work horse. And I truly Love it. It would honestly break my Heart to first of all let go of it to ship it to Canon, and secondly of all, hearing horror stories about how cameras are returned in worse condition after being serviced, ….. thus my hesitation to get it fixed, IF it is fixable. So …. that all being said and done …. long winded this morning LOL …. I work with what I have until my Heart directs me otherwise. I hope you have a good day today!!! (((HUGS))) Amy

      3. Great idea on finding warm gloves that contour to your hands. Don’t need frostbite! I have heard the same thing and some of the old cameras like you said our workhorses. Actually that goes for a lot of things and it’s good to be cautious. Wishing you a good day also my friend ♥ xoxo Kathy

    1. YOU are exactly as I WAS, Marissa, three days ago. I would have read something like this and said HUH? No longer true! If I am going to classify myself as a serious photographer, I must understand the technology that goes along with it. I really was going NUTS believe me, learning all this NEW! Technology is a mind blower! I’m up to date today, or as much as I need to be, but what about 6 months from now? *sigh* It’s like running a marathon!!! Tee hee …… (((HUGS))) Amy

      2. I’m not very technology educated, Marissa, but just am interested in creating. Everything that has happened since my HD broke is now making me aware, if I don’t know what I am doing or understand the technology I am using, how can I say I am a serious photographer? I must educate myself and that is exactly what I am doing. (((HUGS))) Amy

  7. Congrats Amy! That’s a tight little laptop. I’m a bit of a computer nerd and only use laptops for my computer time. I currently use two of them consistently, a larger “gaming” laptop and the smaller one I use most. I’ve always bought Toshiba, but this one sounds like an excellent choice! Have fun, Oh! and send the hubby to the store for, I don’t know, something manly, and then lock him out. 🙂 Enjoy your weekend! ❤ Cao

  8. Best wishes with your new lap top. I am set to get a new one and am going to work with a computer guy to pick it out. I want a lightweight one to travel with but still have it be a PC. I read the Amazon reviews for the one you chose and you might want to work with a wireless mouse instead of the touch pad.

    1. I don’t work with the pad, Katelon, but only with a wireless mouse. I have always done it that way. I don’t like the pad at all, regardless on any computer. We did our homework, and what I got is a tight speed demon machine that passes military standards. It is top notch. And is exactly what I will need to run the software programs for my photographs. I refuse to rely on anyone anymore for buying technological machines. I am educating myself so that I can choose and know exactly what I am getting. Good luck with the way you are doing it. From my experiences in the puter world, I have learned to do my homework, so that I don’t get cheated. (((HUGS))) Amy

    1. Val, this is all new found knowledge for me. Three days ago I would have said HUH? In fact on a blog I follow the subject was about backing up and the lingo that was used had me scratching my head saying HUH? For real. Now look at me. If I am to be taken seriously as a photographer, I must know the technology. The first step is the hardest, the one that says “This stuff is too hard for me.” Well, I applied myself, asked questions, researched, and I learned. As a result I know what I am getting in my laptop and how wicked fast this thing is going to work for me. I am thrilled. (((HUGS))) Amy

    1. I’m happy for me, Tiny! The struggles I have endured with a clank of a laptop, and then editing my photos by first starting in the clanky laptop, transferring them to my iPad via WP then to my media library, and then from there, continue with the editing in 2 software programs that are mini versions of PS CC and LR5. Oh, yes, my friend, I shall enjoy my newfound freedom of SPEED and efficiency. Now, I must study (GROAN!) thick books for both PS and LR in order for me to understand how to use the darn things fully. What fun! But first, I must plant, (another GROAN!) oh about 200 bulbs …. yes, I shot myself once again … before I crank open the school books. Aint life grand? Speaking of, I hope you had a wonderful visit with your Grandfather, Tiny. Have a beautiful day!!! Love, Amy

I think I will put the majority of Tulips in my BIG Rose garden in front with some in my BIG Rose garden in the back. OH! I need to have my head examined for doing this! So I did what I did, got the best I could find, with hubs’ help, and here I am. I will still use my iPad for the photo apps I have on it as I am um eye ball deep studying HOW to use PS and LR full version. Yep, lots of FUN this winter!!! xx Amy

      4. Truth be told you are working with what I really wanted to have. There are pros and cons to both Mac and Windows. I LOVE the way my iPad works when I am editing a photograph. I’m just keeping my fingers crossed this laptop works out just fine cause it sure was not cheap. Cheaper then a Mac, yes, but still up there. My screen is an LED screen which is comparable to a Retina screen, yet still not as good as a Retina. My iPad has the Retina and I really LOVE it. So many changes … Now if I can get my new laptop colors to look exactly like my iPad …. now we are talking! I’ll let you know how I make out. I really did my homework on this machine and for it to be any less of what I require would be a real bummer. I don’t think so though. I am optimistic. (((HUGS))) Amy

And of course there is always the option to tweak my images with my iPad apps. Have you seen Photo Shop Touch? Just the tutorial makes my eyes crossed. That is one serious program. The one I use is called PS Essential. I think. Don’t quote me on that. LOL It is user friendly and that is what I like. By going to PSCC and LR5 I am moving up a really big step. Just the books I have to study from are “heavy”. LOL Well …. off I go to plant bulbs. Yes, I shot myself in the foot AGAIN! Here I am with all my gardens closed up for the winter and I have to turn around choosing now to plant? I am NUTS? Yep! NUTS over flowers! Wish me luck! I have over 200 bulbs to put in. ROFLMAO!!!! Anyway, I had three IBM laptops in my life and it was the best choice. No one of them had any problem. I changed them because technology is changed fast. Even today I have one just like a good memory. Today Lenovo is a new Brand for IBM laptops. I do not have one because 5 years ago I moved to Mac but I am pretty sure Lenovo is as good as IBM.
