So I just made up a word, razzle, but it sure does sound good, it rhymes with frazzle, and it describes the STRESS
learning adventure in buying a NEW laptop for moi. For two days my husband and I pulled our hair out researched what is the BEST laptop to buy for my needs.
OH. MY. GOSH. I do not want to re-experience buying NEW for a L.O.N.G. time. Technology has become SO complex, so convoluted, that to even begin to understand the “lingo” is a MAJOR achievement in of itself.
The tally is in, the decision made, and much MUCH thanks to first my husband who sat in front of a computer until his eyes rolled back in his head, and to all of you who gave me suggestions regarding what to buy … I now have in transit, my NEW laptop.
Do you want to know what we chose? My money is on you do, SO … let’s do it!
In order to keep bringing you the best quality photographs I know how to produce, I must work with the top edting programs, which in my opinion, are PS CC and Lightroom 5. In order for me to have the full version of both, a NEW laptop was in order. So this is what I now will be working with for YOU …
I purchased a Lenovo Thinkpad T440p 20AN0069US 14″ i5-4200M 2.50GHz 8GB 250GB SSD W7 Laptop Computer.
What does this all mean? I’ll tell you:
- Screen size is 14″
- Screen resolution is 1366×768
- Processor is 2.50GHz Intel Core i5
- RAM is 8GB
- Hardrive is 250GB
- Graphics Coprocessor is Intel HD Graphics 4600
- Graphics Card RAM size is 1.70GB
- 2 USB 2.0 ports
- 2 USB 3.0 ports
- OS is Windows 7 Professional NO 8!
- Hard Drive Interface is Solid State
- Optical Drive Type is DVD-RW
Do I understand the specs I just gave you? You’re darn tootin’ I do! I stuck to hubs like glue, insistent I learn the technology
said with bugged out eyes so that I do not have to depend on anyone to keep up with the insane rapid pace of technology.
Now, are you not all proud of me? I am of me because before this buying of NEW, I was very
dumb as they come uneducated about specs for a laptop. Since the day I lost all my photographs, I am now much more careful and also determined to know what the heck I am doing.
In closing, I know I have a forthcoming dilemma in my near future. When it comes to
toys technology/machines, little boys men must first play make sure everything is running right. How do I tug politely request my laptop so that I can use it? *sigh* Any suggestions? Tee hee …..
