iPad Pinks (3 iPad Macros)

My playing continues with my iPad camera. Here are three more MACRO photographs taken with my iPad and processed with software apps for photography on my iPad.

I will say this. It is really tricky to hold my iPad really still and keeping it in focus on the subject I am photographing. Why? I have to hold the iPad with only one hand (left), hold my breath, concentrate with all my might not to shake, and then push the camera button with my right hand, making sure I do not move the iPad as I push said button.

On top of all that, I have a keyboard with case that is attached to my iPad4. Just to give you an idea of how heavy it is, I weighed it this morning with the results as 2.16 pounds. That may not sound like a lot to you, but picture me holding an awkward big iPad steady with one hand as I am adjusting the zoom and lighting with my right hand, ready to push the camera button with my first finger of my right hand. This is really challenging!

I am also getting a “new” look compared to my Canon photos when I use my iPad camera, and then process those photos with the iPad photo apps. I think I will do more experimenting by uploading my iPad photos into my laptop to process them in Photo Shop. Maybe.

    1. Marissa, I seem to be in a transition. Not all of my work I am liking and it is very frustrating to me. Yet, I persevere. Going from strictly macro to zoom lenses is a lot more challenging that you would think. And then I am throwing in photos taken wiht my iPad. I should have my head examined. I am like a baby crying for the teet … give me my macro! LOL (((HUGS))) Amy

    1. SMILING! I’m going through a transition, Maverick, some of it mighty frustrating. I’m glad you like these flowers. Flowers I can do so well. It is other aspects of photography that I am practicing, and not too happy with the results. At least not all. Practice makes perfect. And so I persevere. (((HUGS))) Amy

    1. Dan, I don’t have a volume button. I have a clicker type of button on top of my iPad but it is not easy to get to due to the case I have my iPad in to keep the keyboard attached to iPad. I don’t know if you know this, but there now is a way to zoom in and to adjust the light on the screen when you are using the camera. That is what I do with my right hand when I am doing flowers as I keep everything balanced in my left hand. I am going to figure out or at least try to, how to do this one better. This camera is really good! (((HUGS))) Amy

      2. I guess with the case, it would be hard to get to Amy. I don’t have the latest iPad but the rocker switch on the side that controls volume also controls the “shutter” when the camera is active. On mine, rocking it as if lowering the volume will take the shot. I know that you can zoom, but I don’t use that feature often. Then again, I’m not trying to get such nice photos.

      3. Oh, Dan, thank you for the compliment. I have really been not too happy with my work lately, seemingly in a trasitional phase. My energy seems to affect my camera, and that comes through to my images. Once I step back into the magic, I am sure my photos will be better. I’m specifically talking about my images taken with my zoom lens. Love, Amy

  9. I love the “pinks” in these photos…the last one looks as if I could reach out and touch it…fresh tender petals that look like they would feel like parts of the sky at sunset. Gentle healing in all. Thank you for sharing as always. Peace and love be yours. ~Matthew

      2. It’s heavy and it is cumbersome to hold it with one hand. I have an iPad4 and with the keyboard attached it weighs over 2 pounds. That may not sound like a lot but it is when you hold an iPad as I have to to take pics. I also stopped by your blog, LOVED what I saw, tried to comment, and I couldn’t get my comment to post. Just wanted you to know how awesome your photos are and how truly I enjoyed them. Love, Amy

      3. Thank you very much! I also use my iPad sometimes along with my Nikon. They’d take great photos. I have an iPad 3 and just the cover swinging is enough to blur it. Your photos are lovely.

  14. I can imagine how difficult it must be to shoot with an iPad. But these are truly beautiful! The light in these shots gives a different, soft texture.

    1. I really have been focusing on the light, Tiny. Maybe it is the time of year when the light is soft and yellowish. I have really been focusing on drawing out the light in my photos (the closeups) and attempting to do so with my zoom images. Huge learning curve here on my end … one I am biting nails over.     1. On my iPad, there is an edit believe it or not, Alexander, and I also have other programs as well. Go take a look. You will see the word “edit” on your iPad photos and when you hit that, a whole list of things you can do pop up. Hope youa are having a good day! I am! (((HUGS))) Amy

  22. I find all of my iPhotography an interesting challenge, too, Amy. The phone — I have yet to upgrade from my original iPhone 4 model — is rudimentary, and the iPad Air with bluetooth keyboard case is exactly as you say, heavy and difficult to hold still. Nevertheless, I like the results. And I love your photos here today, my friend. 😉 ❤
