The first photograph is of Rusty, two days after is paw surgery. As some of you remember, this little boy almost lost his leg due to a severe and life threatening condition after he *we think* stepped on a piece of rusting metal. Days after piercing his paw on this metal, Rusty was found by me with his left paw and leg approximately 4-5 times its size. (At this time, he was going outside at will, coming home every day.)

To make a very long story short, my husband and I opted to not have his leg amputated as our Veterinarian wanted to, but instead take a chance with Homeopathy and much hands on treatment by me. As you can see, our “chance” manifested into saving Rusty’s leg and life. Yes, the Vets who have witnessed this, have stated, they have never seen anything like this.

Due to all the pathological damage from this severe case of cellulitis and neuropathy, his third toe partially fell off. The nail in that toe was not growing in correctly so he had to have it surgically removed. This is, I believe, day 2 post-op, with Rusty so relieved he was passed out on our couch. That bandage did stay on for 4 days, and anyone with cats knows this alone is a miracle. Dr. Carolyn really put that bandage on to stay, because when it was time for me to take it off, I could not. I could only cut it to a certain point, and then Rusty did the rest by pulling it off with his teeth.

Believe me, this is the SHORT version of the nightmare we had on our hands. The good news is, Rusty is back to his mischievous self, playing and running, with smiles galore in his eyes. Not like this picture. Here he is still in a lot of pain from the surgery, recovering from the surgery, and really NOT happy about the bandage being on his leg and paw. This story does come with a happy ending. And something for all of you to think about as well. Sometimes, circumstances come along where you really don’t know IF you can do what is in front of you, BUT if you take a chance and do your ultimate best, sometimes the outcome just comes out a whole lot better then even you had HOPED.

    1. And the power of Homeopathy, Celia, is what truly healed Rusty. Yes, my healing touch, but the Homeopathy stopped the swelling in order to bring LIFE back into areas of his paw and leg that were dying. Parts were turning purple and were cold. NOT GOOD. That is cell death. This is why our Vet wanted to amputate. I am SO glad this is over with, let me tell you! (((HUGS))) Amy

    1. Thank you, Frederic. One must have confidence in doing what we did, even NOT knowing the outcome. I SEE God in ALL, and working with these little angels that I do, makes me see even more. To me, Rusty with only 3 legs was unthinkable, so I worked around the clock, as did my husband, to keep that leg attached. Terrified? Stressed? I am not able to even say how much so. I hope that our example shines bright enough that it will make others stop to treat animals better. I know our Vets have been given food for thought! Thank YOU for your Loving comment!       1. You’re very welcome Amy! I love animals too, I think they do have a soul, they suffer, they love, they are sad or happy, and people are often cruel to them.     1. Mar, my example as well as my husband’s, I pray IS noticed by medicine and by others as well. So far, we seem to make a small ripple, and then that ripple just disappears. IF only this world would KNOW how powerful LOVE is, and certain modalities of healing as well. There is more to medicine then the knife and drugs. I know. Darn it, I KNOW!!! Thank YOU for your comment, Mar. It means a lot to me. How I feel about not only Rusty but all my cats, is the real deal.       1. Our pets are an integral extension of our family…and just like children to us…so I understand doing anything and everything to heal them. I too, am an advocate of natural healing and homeopathy and acupuncture, healing herbs, etc. and can only hope it grows in importance to others as we navigate the changes coming. That you put this “out there” helps to make that change. So glad you and your family are well! Peace!

    2. Hopefully one day, Mar, the world will believe in the power of LOVE and Healing. Yes, we did turn to traditional medicine as well as non-tradtional to encourage his body to heal. I did a lot of hands on healing, again using natural remedies and combining my nurse’s knowledge on how to debride dead skin. I don’t believe in dry debridement, which is barbaric, so I came up with hydrotheraphy debridement … which means while soaking his foot in warm water to soften the skin, I gentle rubbed and pulled the dead skin off which I then clipped off with scissors. I learned a lot from the experience and I pray our example made those in traditional medicine sit up and take notice. As I said in the post, ALL Veterinarians who have seen Rusty’s paw and leg, have never seen the likes of it. Yes he has a permanent scar but what is a scar compared to saving a limb?     1. So am I, Julie, so am I. His healing journey was so stressful, yet I refused to give up in my own confidence as a healer, and the power of Homeopathy. We did combine allopathic medications as well, such as antibiotics, IV fluids, narcotic pain medication. I used ALL resources available. And today he is SO happy!! Darn if I am not tearing up.     1. I pray our example sends huge ripples this time through the medical field in our area. I KNOW every Vet who witnessed this was blown away. They did not know this could even be done.   10. I’m so glad Rusty made it through with only a lost toe! I know how hard it is to deal with vets sometimes and we DO have to take things into our own hands. Only one who loves their furry companions like we do will go the extra mile to make it happen! Good for you!!!!

    1. Thank you, Laura!!! I do not wish to ever go through what we did with Rusty. Walking “blind” but with FAITH, and doing all we knew how to do … without any support …. tough. And seeing how much Rusty suffered as well just tore my Heart to pieces. Thank goodness things have settled down. I just could not wrap my head around Rusty with 3 legs. NO! He is too active and playful and far too young and darn it, he needs FOUR legs. And yes, he has them. (((HUGS))) Amy

My husband and I did use antibiotics, IV fluid pushes (extremely high temps and dehydration as a result) and narcotic pain meds … so not only did we turn to alternative measures but we used traditional medicine, in what we believed best for Rusty’s care. Of course we know what is right in our Hearts. It takes practice to know this, and to trust it. Thank you for your comment, Cissy. Love, Amy

Listening to our intuition can be very scary sometimes especially when you are walking into unknown territory.     1. (((HUGS))) and a huge thank you to you, Linda!!! My Rusty is doing just fine, bouncing off walls (or the such GRIIN!) and every time I look at him, my heart jumps into my throat. Homeopathy is a very challenging science to study. Yet, it has saved more then one cat in this house. And yes, we used all available medicines …. allopathic and natural.   33. Aww so pleased Rusty is back to his mischievous self.. He really is a beautiful Cat. We had a Ginger Tom many years ago.. along with many others afterwards.. Each one was very special and they bring their own personalities and so much love.. They are part of the family and we love them so much.. Glad he is bouncing back.. xxx He’s adorable xxx
