Have any of you wondered what a Maple Tree bud looks like as it first begins to come back to Life? Well I wondered yesterday and so I prepared my macro lense, went into our basement to get a step ladder, and went out to look. I found treasure. I could NOT believe my eyes. Every day I view many photoblogs and I have yet to see what I photographed. You will be amazed. Amazingly awe amazed.
Keep in mind, the books I have read say when using a macro lense to always use a tripod. Now, the places I have had my camera in it is not possible to have a tripod, so I become the human tripod. As you journey along to view the images I am about to present to you, I will be telling you my experience in how I managed to snap the amazing beauty I saw. Are you ready? Here we go!
[The ONLY editing done was cropping and sharpening. Nothing else. No special effects are used.]
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Placing my stepladder under my tree, camera in one hand, strap safe round my neck, I began to shakeeven before I climbed
that (darn) ladder.
Nothing to balance on.Nothing to steady me.
Took a deep breath and up I went. Shaking’ legs OH NO! Breeze still blowing’ OH NO! Steady she goes steady!! Holding a branch in one hand to cease the sway camera in the other holding my breathSNAP!!
Putting the ladder in a new spot climbed up legs a shakin’ Nothing to hold on to. Bracing against the ladder itself my shins against wood.SNAP!!
Holdin’ breath Holdin’ branch“Wind STOP blowin’!!!”
Waiting …
SNAP!!
Look at that!
SNAP!!
One more move one more climblegs a shakin’
hands a shakin’
wind a blownin’
“OH, Mother, HELP!!!!!”
Once more, come on!
And here it comes
CALM!
Hold breath, steady steady …
SNAP!!
And that is how beauty is created.
You have a great weekend as well, Priyan. That (darn) stepladder was not easy to climb with no support of any kind. I still don’t know how I managed to get the images I did between my legs shaking and the breeze blowing. (smile) So many people love admiring pretty pictures … I think perhaps appreciation might increase IF they knew what some of us photographers go through just to get perfection captured. (another smile) BIG (((HUGS))) to another one who works hard to get fantastic shots!!! Love, Amy
Doda, I wish my mother, who is one of my followers, could “listen in” to your words to me. She is still finding fault. Yet, this time, my friend, when it happened, I laughed and said “isn’t it just like her to do this?” I hope to gain her respect over time, and even if she doesn’t show it, will have it in her heart. Thank you for your golden words to me. *tears* Thank you! Love, Amy
I’m still trying to figure out how to get a tripod into the places I am bringing my camera. Now, when my Roses are in bloom I can easily set up a tripod. But even with that, I take my camera into angles to shoot that you just don’t get when you use a tripod. I think a tripod is limiting, and when you learn how to hold a camera without shaking( LOL) your potential to capture the unusual increases.
Thank you for the great comment and may your weekend be wonderful. Love, Amy
Amy, I just love you sweet verbal and pictorial journey up and into Maple’s beginning and delight. You captured me so much, that I started dreaming about the other end of Maple’s sweetness, when she produced the sap that turns to syrup that is slowly poured over soft warm pancakes that are smothered in butter. Still a bit early here for much gardening. We had snow yesterday. I had a good time walking in your garden! 🙂 Hugs!! Brenda
LikeLike
I know it is early for most people. I do what I can and it is a lot. Clearing out the winter debris, applying more mulch, cutting down the old growth. We had snow here too, just two days ago, yet, if I don’t start now, I will not be ready to have time to shoot my flowers. My gardens are extensive, Brenda. I won’t prune back my roses yet or remove the mulch protection over the root ball. I have looked at my roses and yes yes yes I am seeing new growth, despite the cold weather!
Every year I begin early. And I usually don’t finish the all of it by the time flowers arrive. This year I want to finish!! This evening I go out and get more pics. My neighbors’ bulbs are beginning to flower and there are lots of new growth everywhere that is calling me. So I eat now, rest, and when the sun is more soft, I go out with my camera.
I am so glad you enjoyed my gardens. (smile) You haven’t seen anything yet! LOL Love, Amy
