Just standing on my porch to get the last few photos, I just about froze. The temperature is presently in the single digits with wind chill factor of at least -20 degrees. That is COLD! The lights you see in the last photo, are of two vehicles on their sides, in a ditch off the road. That photograph was taken before the police arrived. Thruways are closed and in my opinion, no one should be driving. All schools now are closed in WNY. This is the biggest snow storm we have had in over 20 years. Stay tuned….
awesome photography, i really loved it.

Beautiful pictures. Thank you for sharing from your window. It’s a much more personal view of the news we are all reading.

The ones of my garden and the car off the road and one other, were actually taken outside on my porch. In a mere matter of moments I was frozen. I am so grateful for heat!
Tomorrow I am taking more pictures. Stay tuned…..who needs news when I am living it? LOL

Thank you for sharing this. It is chilly here for Florida but so amazing to read and see what those if you in the real cold are experiencing. I miss snow but I think for today I’m grateful to live in the tropical zone. Imagining the ancestors who lived during the ice ages-no electricity or even glass windows to look out. Just gathering around the fire deep enough into the caves to stay warm and wait for the storm to end-hoping the food and firewood hold out!

Good morning, Ohnwentsya. I think too of those long ago who even on the land I live on now, lived in tepees. I cannot even get out of my house right now. The snow is up and over the threshold. And it is still coming down. I plan on taking my camera and getting more photos. The difference from yesterday to today is drastic. I cannot see our thermometer on the window, being buried in snow. But it looks from the condensation on my windows, to be at least 0 degrees, if not lower.
And I must find a way out of this house, trek through deep snow, climb a mountain of snow that my neighbor plowed and created, all in order to get to the barn next door to bring food for the cats. And of course I am bringing my camera.

Brigitta, from your lips to God’s ears. I hope so. I haven’t seen weather like this in maybe 20-30 years. And I have to go out to the barn next door to bring food. Lucky me. Camera is coming with me. Hopefully I can use it without freezing my hands.

I probably will not even see them, Birgitta. I don’t even know if they are even eating. I will know when I go there. This is freeze to death weather.

I’ll just keep focusing on Love for the complete Power it is–there is never any harm contained within it. (I watched Alex’s link to Matt Kahn–made my Heart sing so am Loving everything: you all, Lori, JJ, Birgetta, Nancee, etc.) I REFUSE to allow the little self to feel helpless… the I AM is in charge now.
I Love you with Warmth as you make that lifesaving trek to the barn… I await good news.

Lin, I made it to the barn this morning and bring glad tidings. The animals are a lot warmer then I thought they would be. The “thoughts” of warmth are working!!!
